Ezekiel 27:1And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,
Ezekiel 27:2Thou therefore, O son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre:You, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;And you, son of man, make a song of grief for Tyre;
Ezekiel 27:3And say to Tyre that dwelleth at the entry of the sea, being the mart of the people for many islands: Thus saith the Lord God: O Tyre, thou hast said: I am of perfect beauty,and tell Tyre, you who dwell at the entry of the sea, who are the merchant of the peoples to many isles, thus says the Lord Yahweh: You, Tyre, have said, I am perfect in beauty.And say to Tyre, O you who are seated at the doorway of the sea, trading for the peoples with the great sea-lands, these are the words of the Lord: You, O Tyre, have said, I am a ship completely beautiful.
Ezekiel 27:4And situate in the heart of the sea. Thy neighbours, that built thee, have perfected thy beauty:Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders have perfected your beauty.Your builders have made your outlines in the heart of the seas, they have made you completely beautiful.
Ezekiel 27:5With fir trees of Sanir they have built thee with all sea planks: they have taken cedars from Libanus to make thee masts.They have made all your planks of fir-trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.They have made all your boards of fir-trees from Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make the supports for your sails.
Ezekiel 27:6They have cut thy oars out of the oaks of Basan: and they have made thee benches of Indian ivory and cabins with things brought from the islands of Italy.Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.Of oak-trees from Bashan they have made your driving blades; they have made your floors of ivory and boxwood from the sea-lands of Kittim.
Ezekiel 27:7Fine broidered linen from Egypt was woven for thy sail, to be spread on thy mast: blue and purple from the islands of Elisa, were made thy covering.Of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt was your sail, that it might be to you for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was your awning.The best linen with needlework from Egypt was your sail, stretched out to be a flag for you; blue and purple from the sea-lands of Elishah gave you shade.
Ezekiel 27:8The inhabitants of Sidon, and the Arabians were thy rowers : thy wise men, O Tyre, were thy pilots.The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers: your wise men, Tyre, were in you, they were your pilots.The people of Zidon and Arvad were your boatmen; the wise men of Zemer were in you; they were guiding your ships;
Ezekiel 27:9The ancients of Gebal, and the wise men thereof furnished mariners for the service of thy various furniture: all the ships of the sea, and their mariners were thy factors.The old men of Gebal and the wise men of it were in you your repairers of ship seams: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to deal in your merchandise.The responsible men of Gebal and its wise men were in you, making your boards watertight: all the ships of the sea with their seamen were in you trading in your goods.
Ezekiel 27:10The Persians, and Lydians, and the Libyans were thy soldiers in thy army: they hung up the buckler and the helmet in thee for thy ornament.Persia and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your comeliness.Cush and Lud and Put were in your army, your men of war, hanging up their body-covers and head-dresses of war in you: they gave you your glory.
Ezekiel 27:11The men of Arad were with thy army upon thy walls round about: the Pygmeans also that were in thy towers, hung up their quivers on thy walls round about: they perfected thy beauty.The men of Arvad with your army were on your walls round about, and valorous men were in your towers; they hanged their shields on your walls round about; they have perfected your beauty.The men of Arvad in your army were on your walls, and were watchmen in your towers, hanging up their arms on your walls round about; they made you completely beautiful.
Ezekiel 27:12The Carthaginians thy merchants supplied thy fairs with a multitude of all kinds of riches, with silver, iron, tin, and lead.Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for your wares.Tarshish did business with you because of the great amount of your wealth; they gave silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:13Greece, Thubal, and Mosoch, they were thy merchants: they brought to thy people slaves and vessels of brass.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for your merchandise.Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders; they gave living men and brass vessels for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:14From the house of Thogorma they brought horses, and horsemen, and mules to thy market.They of the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses and war-horses and mules.The people of Togarmah gave horses and war-horses and transport beasts for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:15The men of Dedan were thy merchants: many islands were the traffic of thy hand, they exchanged for thy price teeth of ivory and ebony.The men of Dedan were your traffickers; many isles were the market of your hand: they brought you in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.The men of Rodan were your traders: a great number of sea-lands did business with you: they gave you horns of ivory and ebony as an offering.
Ezekiel 27:16The Syrian was thy merchant: by reason of the multitude of thy works, they set forth precious stones, and purple, and broidered works, and fine linen, and silk, and chodchod in thy market.Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of your handiworks: they traded for your wares with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.Edom did business with you because of the great number of things which you made; they gave emeralds, purple, and needlework, and the best linen and coral and rubies for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:17Juda and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants with the best corn: they set forth balm, and honey, and oil, and rosin in thy fairs.Judah, and the land of Israel, they were your traffickers: they traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, and confections, and honey, and oil, and balm.Judah and the land of Israel were your traders; they gave grain of Minnith and sweet cakes and honey and oil and perfume for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:18The men of Damascus were thy merchants in the multitude of thy works, in the multitude of divers riches, in rich wine, in wool of the best colour.Damascus was your merchant for the multitude of your handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.Damascus did business with you because of the great amount of your wealth, with wine of Helbon and white wool.
Ezekiel 27:19Dan, and Greece, and Mosel have set forth in thy marts wrought iron: stacte, and calamus were in thy market.Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for your wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among your merchandise.... for your goods: they gave polished iron and spices for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:20The men of Dedan were thy merchants in tapestry for seats.Dedan was your trafficker in precious cloths for riding.Dedan did trade with you in cloths for the backs of horses.
Ezekiel 27:21Arabia, and all the princes of Cedar, they were the merchants of thy hand: thy merchants came to thee with lambs, and rants, and kids.Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they your merchants.Arabia and all the rulers of Kedar did business with you; in lambs and sheep and goats, in these they did business with you.
Ezekiel 27:22The sellers of Saba, and Reema, they were thy merchants: with all the best spices, and precious stones, and gold, which they set forth in thy market.The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were your traffickers; they traded for your wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.The traders of Sheba and Raamah did trade with you; they gave the best of all sorts of spices and all sorts of stones of great price and gold for your goods.
Ezekiel 27:23Haran, and Chene, and Eden were thy merchants; Saba, Assur, and Chelmad sold to thee.Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur [and] Chilmad, were your traffickers.Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traders of Asshur and all the Medes:
Ezekiel 27:24They were thy merchants in divers manners, with bales of blue cloth, and of embroidered work, and of precious riches, which were wrapped up and bound with cords: they had cedars also in thy merchandise.These were your traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich clothing, bound with cords and made of cedar, among your merchandise.These were your traders in beautiful robes, in rolls of blue and needlework, and in chests of coloured cloth, corded with cords and made of cedar-wood, in them they did trade with you.
Ezekiel 27:25The ships of the sea, were thy chief in thy merchandise : and thou wast replenished, and glorified exceedingly in the heart of the sea.The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise: and you were replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.Tarshish ships did business for you in your goods: and you were made full, and great was your glory in the heart of the seas.
Ezekiel 27:26Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the south wind hath broken thee in the heart of the sea.Your rowers have brought you into great waters: the east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.Your boatmen have taken you into great waters: you have been broken by the east wind in the heart of the seas.
Ezekiel 27:27Thy riches, and thy treasures, and thy manifold furniture, thy mariners, and thy pilots, who kept thy goods, and were chief over thy people: thy men of war also, that were in thee, with all thy multitude that is in the midst of thee: shall fall in the heart of the sea in the day of thy ruin.Your riches, and your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, and your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, and the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is in the midst of you, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.Your wealth and your goods, the things in which you do trade, your seamen and those guiding your ships, those who make your boards watertight, and those who do business with your goods, and all your men of war who are in you, with all who have come together in you, will go down into the heart of the seas in the day of your downfall.
Ezekiel 27:28Thy fleets shall be troubled at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.At the sound of the cry of your pilots the suburbs shall shake.At the sound of the cry of your ships' guides, the boards of the ship will be shaking.
Ezekiel 27:29And all that handled the oar shall come down from their ships: the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea shall stand upon the land:All who handled the oar, the mariners, [and] all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand on the land,And all the boatmen, the seamen and those who are expert at guiding a ship through the sea, will come down from their ships and take their places on the land;
Ezekiel 27:30And they shall mourn over thee with a loud voice, and shall cry bitterly: and they shall cast up dust upon their heads, and shall be sprinkled with ashes.and shall cause their voice to be heard over you, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust on their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:And their voices will be sounding over you, and crying bitterly they will put dust on their heads, rolling themselves in the dust:
Ezekiel 27:31And they shall shave themselves bald for thee, and shall be girded with haircloth: and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of soul, with most bitter weeping.and they shall make themselves bald for you, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for you in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.And they will have the hair of their heads cut off because of you, and will put haircloth on their bodies, weeping for you with bitter grief in their souls, even with bitter sorrow.
Ezekiel 27:32And they shall take up a mournful song for thee, and snail lament thee: What city is like Tyre, which is become silent in the midst of the sea?In their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, [saying], Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?And in their weeping they will make a song of grief for you, sorrowing over you and saying, Who is like Tyre, who has come to an end in the deep sea?
Ezekiel 27:33Which by thy merchandise that went from thee by sea didst fill many people: which by the multitude of thy riches, and of thy people didst enrich the kings of the earth.When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many peoples; you did enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.When your goods went out over the seas, you made numbers of peoples full; the wealth of the kings of the earth was increased with your great wealth and all your goods.
Ezekiel 27:34Now thou art destroyed by the sea, thy riches are in the bottom of the waters, and all the multitude that was in the midst of thee is fallen.In the time that you were broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company did fall in the midst of you.Now that you are broken by the seas in the deep waters, your goods and all your people will go down with you.
Ezekiel 27:35All the inhabitants of the islands are astonished at thee: and all their kings being struck with the storm have changed their countenance.All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their face.All the people of the sea-lands are overcome with wonder at you, and their kings are full of fear, their faces are troubled.
Ezekiel 27:36The merchants of people have hissed at thee: thou art brought to nothing, and thou shalt never be any more.The merchants among the peoples hiss at you; you are become a terror, and you shall nevermore have any being.Those who do business among the peoples make sounds of surprise at you; you have become a thing of fear, you have come to an end for ever.
