Genesis 13:1And Abram went up out of Egypt, he and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.Abram went up out of Egypt: he, his wife, all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.And Abram went up out of Egypt with his wife and all he had, and Lot with him, and they came in to the South.
Genesis 13:2And he was very rich in possession of gold and silver.Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.Now Abram had great wealth of cattle and silver and gold.
Genesis 13:3And he returned by the way that he came, from the south to Bethel, to the place where before he had pitched his tent between Bethel and Hai:He went on his journeys from the South even to Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,And travelling on from the South, he came to Beth-el, to the place where his tent had been before, between Beth-el and Ai;
Genesis 13:4In the place of the altar which he had made before; and there he called upon the name of the Lord.to the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first. There Abram called on the name of Yahweh.To the place where he had made his first altar, and there Abram gave worship to the name of the Lord.
Genesis 13:5But Lot also, who was with Abram, had flocks of sheep, and herds of beasts, and tents.Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.And Lot, who went with him, had flocks and herds and tents;
Genesis 13:6Neither was the land able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, and they could not dwell together.The land was not able to bear them, that they might live together: for their substance was great, so that they could not live together.So that the land was not wide enough for the two of them: their property was so great that there was not room for them together.
Genesis 13:7Whereupon also there arose a strife between the herdsmen of Abram and of Lot. And at that time the Chanaanite and the Pherezite dwelled in that country.There was a strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived then in the land.And there was an argument between the keepers of Abram's cattle and the keepers of Lot's cattle: at that time the Canaanites and Perizzites were still living in the land.
Genesis 13:8Abram therefore said to Lot: Let there be no quarrel, I beseech thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen: for we are brethren.Abram said to Lot, "Please, let there be no strife between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are relatives.Then Abram said to Lot, Let there be no argument between me and you, and between my herdmen and your herdmen, for we are brothers.
Genesis 13:9Behold the whole land is before thee: depart from me I pray thee: if thou wilt go to the left hand, I will take the right: if thou choose the right hand, I will pass to the left.Isn't the whole land before you? Please separate yourself from me. If you go to the left hand, then I will go to the right. Or if you go to the right hand, then I will go to the left."Is not all the land before you? then let us go our separate ways: if you go to the left, I will go to the right; or if you take the right, I will go to the left.
Genesis 13:10And Lot, lifting up his eyes, saw all the country about the Jordan, which was watered throughout, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha, as the paradise of the Lord, and like Egypt as one comes to Segor.Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as you go to Zoar.And Lot, lifting up his eyes and looking an the valley of Jordan, saw that it was well watered everywhere, before the Lord had sent destruction on Sodom and Gomorrah; it was like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, on the way to Zoar.
Genesis 13:11And Lot chose to himself the country about the Jordan, and he departed from the east: and they were separated one brother from the other.So Lot chose the Plain of the Jordan for himself. Lot journeyed east, and they separated themselves the one from the other.So Lot took for himself all the valley of Jordan, and went to the east, and they were parted from one another.
Genesis 13:12Abram dwelt in the land of Chanaan; and Lot abode in the towns that were about the Jordan, and dwelt in Sodom.Abram lived in the land of Canaan, and Lot lived in the cities of the plain, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.Abram went on living in the land of Canaan, and Lot went to the lowland towns, moving his tent as far as Sodom.
Genesis 13:13And the men of Sodom were very wicked, and sinners before the face of the Lord, beyond measure.Now the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinners against Yahweh.Now the men of Sodom were evil, and great sinners before the Lord.
Genesis 13:14And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him: Lift up thy eyes, and look from the place wherein thou now art, to the north and to the south, to the east and to the west.Yahweh said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him, "Now, lift up your eyes, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward,And the Lord had said to Abram, after Lot was parted from him, From this place where you are take a look to the north and to the south, to the east and to the west:
Genesis 13:15All the land which thou seest, I will give to thee, and to thy seed for ever.for all the land which you see, I will give to you, and to your offspring forever.For all the land which you see I will give to you and to your seed for ever.
Genesis 13:16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then your seed may also be numbered.And I will make your children like the dust of the earth, so that if the dust of the earth may be numbered, then will your children be numbered.
Genesis 13:17Arise and walk through the land in the length, and in the breadth thereof: for I will give it to thee.Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it to you."Come, go through all the land from one end to the other for I will give it to you.
Genesis 13:18So Abram removing his tent came and dwelt by the vale of Mambre, which is in Hebron: and he built there an altar to the Lord.Abram moved his tent, and came and lived by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to Yahweh.And Abram, moving his tent, came and made his living-place by the holy tree of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and made an altar there to the Lord.
