| Acts 28:1 | And when we had escaped, then we knew that the island was called Melita. But the barbarians shewed us no small courtesy. | When we had escaped, then we knew that the island was called Malta. | And when we got safe [to land] we then knew that the island was called Melita. |
| Acts 28:2 | For kindling a fire, they refreshed us all, because of the present rain, and of the cold. | The natives showed us no common kindness; for they kindled a fire, and received us all, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. | But the barbarians shewed us no common kindness; for, having kindled a fire, they took us all in because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. |

| Acts 28:7 | Now in these places were possessions of the chief man of the island, named Publius, who receiving us, for three days entertained us courteously. | Now in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man of the island, named Publius, who received us, and courteously entertained us three days. | Now in the country surrounding that place were the lands belonging to the chief man of the island, by name Publius, who received us and gave [us] hospitality three days in a very friendly way. |
