Luke 4:2For the space of forty days; and was tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry.for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.forty days, tempted of the devil; and in those days he did not eat anything, and when they were finished he hungered.
Luke 4:3And the devil said to him: If thou be the Son of God, say to this stone that it be made bread.The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."And the devil said to him, If thou be Son of God, speak to this stone, that it become bread.
Luke 4:4And Jesus answered him: It is written, that Man liveth not by bread alone, but by every word of God.Jesus answered him, saying,"It is written, 'Man will not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'"And Jesus answered unto him saying, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Luke 4:5And the devil led him into a high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time;The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited world in a moment of time.And [the devil], leading him up into a high mountain, shewed him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time.
Luke 4:6And he said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them.The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.And the devil said to him, I will give thee all this power, and their glory; for it is given up to me, and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Luke 4:7If thou therefore wilt adore before me, all shall be thine.If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."If therefore *thou* wilt do homage before me, all [of it] shall be thine.
Luke 4:8And Jesus answering said to him: It is written: Thou shalt adore the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.Jesus answered him, "Get behind me Satan! For it is written, 'You will worship the Lord your God, and him only will you serve.'"And Jesus answering him said, It is written, Thou shalt do homage to [the] Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.
Luke 4:9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him: If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself from hence.He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,And he led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the edge of the temple, and said to him, If thou be Son of God, cast thyself down hence;
Luke 4:10For it is written, that He hath given his angels charge over thee, that they keep thee.for it is written, 'He will give his angels charge concerning you, to guard you;'for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee to keep thee;
Luke 4:11And that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest perhaps thou dash thy foot against a stone.and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, Lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"and on [their] hands shall they bear thee, lest in any wise thou strike thy foot against a stone.
Luke 4:12And Jesus answering, said to him: It is said: Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.Jesus answering, said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"And Jesus answering said to him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt [the] Lord thy God.
Luke 4:13And all the temptation being ended, the devil departed from him for a time.When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him for awhile.And the devil, having completed every temptation, departed from him for a time.
Luke 4:14And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit, into Galilee, and the fame of him went out through the whole country.Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee; and a rumour went out into the whole surrounding country about him;
Luke 4:15And he taught in their synagogues, and was magnified by all.He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.and *he* taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
Luke 4:16And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up: and he went into the synagogue, according to his custom, on the sabbath day; and he rose up to read.He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. Luke 4:18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Wherefore he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the contrite of heart,"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, Because he anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to the captives, Recovering of sight to the blind, To deliver those who are crushed,[The] Spirit of [the] Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach glad tidings to [the] poor; he has sent me to preach to captives deliverance, and to [the] blind sight, to send forth [the] crushed delivered,
Luke 4:19To preach deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of reward.And to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."to preach [the] acceptable year of [the] Lord.
Luke 4:20And when he had folded the book, he restored it to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.And having rolled up the book, when he had delivered it up to the attendant, he sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him.
Luke 4:21And he began to say to them: This day is fulfilled this scripture in your ears.He began to tell them, "Today, this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."And he began to say to them, To-day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.
Luke 4:22And all gave testimony to him: and they wondered at the words of grace that proceeded from his mouth, and they said: Is not this the son of Joseph?All testified about him, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Isn't this Joseph's son?"And all bore witness to him, and wondered at the words of grace which were coming out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
Luke 4:23And he said to them: Doubtless you will say to me this similitude: Physician, heal thyself: as great things as we have heard done in Capharnaum, do also here in thy own country.He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself. Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.'"And he said to them, Ye will surely say to me this parable, Physician, heal thyself; whatsoever we have heard has taken place in Capernaum do here also in thine own country.
Luke 4:24And he said: Amen I say to you, that no prophet is accepted in his own country.He said, "Most assuredly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.And he said, Verily I say to you, that no prophet is acceptable in his [own] country.
Luke 4:25In truth I say to you, there were many widows in the days of Elias in Israel, when heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there was a great famine throughout all the earth.But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.But of a truth I say to you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, so that a great famine came upon all the land,
Luke 4:26And to none of them was Elias sent, but to Sarepta of Sidon, to a widow woman.Elijah was sent to none of them, except only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.and to none of them was Elias sent but to Sarepta of Sidonia, to a woman [that was] a widow.
Luke 4:27And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet: and none of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian.There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian.
Luke 4:28And all they in the synagogue, hearing these things, were filled with anger.They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things;And they were all filled with rage in the synagogue, hearing these things;
Luke 4:29And they rose up and thrust him out of the city; and they brought him to the brow of the hill, whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.and they rose up, and threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.and rising up they cast him forth out of the city, and led him up to the brow of the mountain upon which their city was built, so that they might throw him down the precipice;

Luke 4:31And he went down into Capharnaum, a city of Galilee, and there he taught them on the sabbath days.He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,and descended to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbaths.

Luke 4:34Saying: Let us alone, what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the holy one of God.saying, "Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!"saying, Eh! what have we to do with thee, Jesus, Nazarene? hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy [One] of God.
Luke 4:35And Jesus rebuked him, saying: Hold thy peace, and go out of him. And when the devil had thrown him into the midst, he went out of him, and hurt him not at all.Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out from him. And the demon, having thrown him down into the midst, came out from him without doing him any injury.
Luke 4:36And there came fear upon all, and they talked among themselves, saying: What word is this, for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they go out?Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!"And astonishment came upon all, and they spoke to one another, saying, What word [is] this? for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
Luke 4:37And the fame of him was published into every place of the country.News about him went forth into every place of the surrounding region.And a rumour went out into every place of the country round concerning him.
Luke 4:38And Jesus rising up out of the synagogue, went into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever, and they besought him for her.He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her.And rising up out of the synagogue, he entered into the house of Simon. But Simon's mother-in-law was suffering under a bad fever; and they asked him for her.
Luke 4:39And standing over her, he commanded the fever, and it left her. And immediately rising, she ministered to them.He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and ministered to them.And standing over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her; and forthwith standing up she served them.
Luke 4:40And when the sun was down, all they that had any sick with divers diseases, brought them to him. But he laying his hands on every one of them, healed them.When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.And when the sun went down, all, as many as had persons sick with divers diseases, brought them to him, and having laid his hands on every one of them, he healed them;
Luke 4:41And devils went out from many, crying out and saying: Thou art the Son of God. And rebuking them he suffered them not to speak, for they knew that he was Christ.Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Christ, the Son of God!" Rebuking them, he didn't allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.and demons also went out from many, crying out and saying, *Thou* art the Son of God. And rebuking them, he suffered them not to speak, because they knew him to be the Christ.
Luke 4:42And when it was day, going out he went into a desert place, and the multitudes sought him, and came unto him: and they stayed him that he should not depart from them.When it was day, he came out and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn't go away from them.And when it was day he went out, and went into a desert place, and the crowds sought after him, and came up to him, and [would have] kept him back that he should not go from them.
Luke 4:43To whom he said: To other cities also I must preach the kingdom of God: for therefore am I sent.But he said to them, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for this reason I have been sent."But he said to them, I must needs announce the glad tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for for this I have been sent forth.
Luke 4:44And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
