| Jonah 4:1 | And Jonas was exceedingly troubled, and was angry: | But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry. | But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. |
| Jonah 4:2 | And he prayed to the Lord, and said: I beseech thee, O Lord, is not this what I said, when I was yet in my own country? therefore I went before to flee into Tharsis: for I know that thou art a gracious and merciful God, patient, and of much compassion, and easy to forgive evil. | He prayed to Yahweh, and said, "Please, Yahweh, wasn't this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and you repent of the evil. | And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. |

So Jonah was exceedingly glad because of the gourd. | And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd. |

And he said: I am angry with reason even unto death. | God said to Jonah, "Is it right for you to be angry about the vine?" He said, "I am right to be angry, even to death." | And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. |

| Jonah 4:11 | And shall not I spare Ninive, that great city, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand persons that know not how to distinguish between their right hand and their left, and many beasts? | Shouldn't I be concerned for Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred twenty thousand persons who can't discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?" | And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? |
