| Luke 18:1 | And he spoke also a parable to them, that we ought always to pray, and not to faint, | He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up, | He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart. |
| Luke 18:2 | Saying: There was a judge in a certain city, who feared not God, nor regarded man. | saying, "A certain judge was in a city, who didn't fear God, and didn't respect man. | "In a certain town," He said, "there was a judge who had no fear of God and no respect for man. |
| Luke 18:3 | And there was a certain widow in that city, and she came to him, saying: Avenge me of my adversary. | A widow was in that city, and she came often to him, saying, 'Defend me from my adversary!' | And in the same town was a widow who repeatedly came and entreated him, saying, "`Give me justice and stop my oppressor.' |

| Luke 18:5 | Yet because this widow is troublesome to me, I will avenge her, lest continually coming she weary me. | yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.'" | yet because she annoys me I will give her justice, to prevent her from constantly coming to pester me.'" |
