1st-John 3:1Behold what manner of charity the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called, and should be the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth not us, because it knew not him.See ye what love the Father hath given to us, that children of God we may be called; because of this the world doth not know us, because it did not know Him;See what great love the Father has given us in naming us the children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not see who we are, because it did not see who he was.
1st-John 3:2Dearly beloved, we are now the sons of God; and it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know, that, when he shall appear, we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is.beloved, now, children of God are we, and it was not yet manifested what we shall be, and we have known that if he may be manifested, like him we shall be, because we shall see him as he is;My loved ones, now we are children of God, and at present it is not clear what we are to be. We are certain that at his revelation we will be like him; for we will see him as he is.
1st-John 3:3And every one that hath this hope in him, sanctifieth himself, as he also is holy.and every one who is having this hope on him, doth purify himself, even as he is pure.And everyone who has this hope in him makes himself holy, even as he is holy.
1st-John 3:4Whosoever committeth sin commmitteth also iniquity; and sin is iniquity.Every one who is doing the sin, the lawlessness also he doth do, and the sin is the lawlessness,Everyone who is a sinner goes against the law, for sin is going against the law.
1st-John 3:5And you know that he appeared to take away our sins, and in him there is no sin.and ye have known that he was manifested that our sins he may take away, and sin is not in him;And you have knowledge that he came to take away sin: and in him there is no sin.
1st-John 3:6Whosoever abideth in him, sinneth not; and whosoever sinneth, hath not seen him, nor known him.every one who is remaining in him doth not sin; every one who is sinning, hath not seen him, nor known him.Anyone who is in him does no sin; anyone who is a sinner has not seen him and has no knowledge of him.
1st-John 3:7Little children, let no man deceive you. He that doth justice is just, even as he is just.Little children, let no one lead you astray; he who is doing the righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous,My little children, let no man take you out of the true way: he who does righteousness is upright, even as he is upright;
1st-John 3:8He that commmitteth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God appeared, that he might destroy the works of the devil.he who is doing the sin, of the devil he is, because from the beginning the devil doth sin; for this was the Son of God manifested, that he may break up the works of the devil;The sinner is a child of the Evil One; for the Evil One has been a sinner from the first. And the Son of God was seen on earth so that he might put an end to the works of the Evil One.
1st-John 3:9Whosoever is born of God, commmitteth not sin: for his seed abideth in him, and he can not sin, because he is born of God.every one who hath been begotten of God, sin he doth not, because his seed in him doth remain, and he is not able to sin, because of God he hath been begotten.Anyone who is a child of God does no sin, because he still has God's seed in him; he is not able to be a sinner, because God is his Father.
1st-John 3:10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whosoever is not just, is not of God, nor he that loveth not his brother.In this manifest are the children of God, and the children of the devil; every one who is not doing righteousness, is not of God, and he who is not loving his brother,In this way it is clear who are the children of God and who are the children of the Evil One; anyone who does not do righteousness or who has no love for his brother, is not a child of God.
1st-John 3:11For this is the declaration, which you have heard from the beginning, that you should love one another.because this is the message that ye did hear from the beginning, that we may love one another,Because this is the word which was given to you from the first, that we are to have love for one another;
1st-John 3:12Not as Cain, who was of the wicked one, and killed his brother. And wherefore did he kill him? Because his own works were wicked: and his brother's just.not as Cain of the evil one he was, and he did slay his brother, and wherefore did he slay him? because his works were evil, and those of his brother righteous.Not being of the Evil One like Cain, who put his brother to death. And why did he put him to death? Because his works were evil and his brother's works were good.
1st-John 3:13Wonder not, brethren, if the world hate you.Do not wonder, my brethren, if the world doth hate you;Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world has no love for you.
1st-John 3:14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not, abideth in death.we we have known that we have passed out of the death to the life, because we love the brethren; he who is not loving the brother doth remain in the death.We are conscious that we have come out of death into life because of our love for the brothers. He who has no love is still in death.
1st-John 3:15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in himself.Every one who is hating his brother a man-killer he is, and ye have known that no man-killer hath life age-during in him remaining,Anyone who has hate for his brother is a taker of life, and you may be certain that no taker of life has eternal life in him.
1st-John 3:16In this we have known the charity of God, because he hath laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.in this we have known the love, because he for us his life did lay down, and we ought for the brethren the lives to lay down;In this we see what love is, because he gave his life for us; and it is right for us to give our lives for the brothers.
1st-John 3:17He that hath the substance of this world, and shall see his brother in need, and shall shut up his bowels from him: how doth the charity of God abide in him?and whoever may have the goods of the world, and may view his brother having need, and may shut up his bowels from him how doth the love of God remain in him?But if a man has this world's goods, and sees that his brother is in need, and keeps his heart shut against his brother, how is it possible for the love of God to be in him?
1st-John 3:18My little children, let us not love in word, nor in tongue, but in deed, and in truth.My little children, may we not love in word nor in tongue, but in word and in truth!My little children, do not let our love be in word and in tongue, but let it be in act and in good faith.
1st-John 3:19In this we know that we are of the truth: and in his sight shall persuade our hearts.and in this we know that of the truth we are, and before Him we shall assure our hearts,In this way we may be certain that we are true, and may give our heart comfort before him,
1st-John 3:20For if our heart reprehend us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.because if our heart may condemn because greater is God than our heart, and He doth know all things.When our heart says that we have done wrong; because God is greater than our heart, and has knowledge of all things.
1st-John 3:21Dearly beloved, if our heart do not reprehend us, we have confidence towards God:Beloved, if our heart may not condemn us, we have boldness toward God,My loved ones, if our heart does not say that we have done wrong, we have no fear before him;
1st-John 3:22And whatsoever we shall ask, we shall receive of him: because we keep his commandments, and do those things which are pleasing in his sight.and whatever we may ask, we receive from Him, because His commands we keep, and the things pleasing before Him we do,And he gives us all our requests, because we keep his laws and do the things which are pleasing in his eyes.
1st-John 3:23And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ: and love one another, as he hath given commandment unto us.and this is His command, that we may believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and may love one another, even as He did give command to us,And this is his law, that we have faith in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love for one another, even as he said to us.
1st-John 3:24And he that keepeth his commandments, abideth in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.and he who is keeping His commands, in Him he doth remain, and He in him; and in this we know that He doth remain in us, from the Spirit that He gave us.He who keeps his laws is in God and God is in him. And the Spirit which he gave us is our witness that he is in us.
