| John 9:1 | And Jesus passing by, saw a man, who was blind from his birth: | And passing by, he saw a man blind from birth, | And when he went on his way, he saw a man blind from birth. |
| John 9:2 | And his disciples asked him: Rabbi, who hath sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind? | and his disciples asked him, saying, `Rabbi, who did sin, this one or his parents, that he should be born blind?` | And his disciples put a question to him, saying, Master, was it because of this man's sin, or the sin of his father and mother, that he has been blind from birth? |
| John 9:3 | Jesus answered: Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. | Jesus answered, `Neither did this one sin nor his parents, but that the works of God may be manifested in him; | Jesus said in answer, It was not because of his sin, or because of his father's or mother's; it was so that the works of God might be seen openly in him. |
