Ezekiel 27:1 | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying: | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying: |
Ezekiel 27:2 | Thou therefore, O son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre: | `And thou, son of man, lift up concerning Tyre a lamentation, and thou hast said to Tyre: | And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre, |
Ezekiel 27:3 | And say to Tyre that dwelleth at the entry of the sea, being the mart of the people for many islands: Thus saith the Lord God: O Tyre, thou hast said: I am of perfect beauty, | O dweller on the entrances of the sea, Merchant of the peoples unto many isles, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: O Tyre, thou thou hast said: I [am] the perfection of beauty. | and say unto Tyre: O thou that art situate at the entries of the sea, and traffickest with the peoples in many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty. |
Ezekiel 27:4 | And situate in the heart of the sea. Thy neighbours, that built thee, have perfected thy beauty: | In the heart of the seas [are] thy borders, Thy builders have perfected thy beauty. | Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty. |
Ezekiel 27:5 | With fir trees of Sanir they have built thee with all sea planks: they have taken cedars from Libanus to make thee masts. | Of firs of Senir they have built to thee all thy double-boarded ships, Of cedars of Lebanon they have taken to make a mast for thee, | They made all thy double boards of cypress-trees of Senir; they took cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee. |
Ezekiel 27:6 | They have cut thy oars out of the oaks of Basan: and they have made thee benches of Indian ivory and cabins with things brought from the islands of Italy. | Of oaks of Bashan they made thine oars, Thy bench they have made of ivory, A branch of Ashurim from isles of Chittim. | Of the oaks of Bashan did they make thine oars; they made thy benches of ivory, inlaid in box-wood, out of the isles of Chittim. |
Ezekiel 27:7 | Fine broidered linen from Egypt was woven for thy sail, to be spread on thy mast: blue and purple from the islands of Elisa, were made thy covering. | Of fine linen with embroidery from Egypt hath been thy sail, To be to thee for an ensign, Of blue and purple from isles of Elishah hath been thy covering. | Byssus with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, to serve thee for a banner; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning. |
Ezekiel 27:8 | The inhabitants of Sidon, and the Arabians were thy rowers : thy wise men, O Tyre, were thy pilots. | Inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad have been rowers to thee, Thy wise men, O Tyre, have been in thee, They [are] thy pilots. | The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, who were in thee, were thy pilots. |
Ezekiel 27:9 | The ancients of Gebal, and the wise men thereof furnished mariners for the service of thy various furniture: all the ships of the sea, and their mariners were thy factors. | Elders of Gebal and its wise men have been in thee, Strengthening thy breach; All ships of the sea and their mariners, Have been in thee, to trade [with] thy merchandise. | The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee repairing thy leaks; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee, to barter with thee. |
Ezekiel 27:10 | The Persians, and Lydians, and the Libyans were thy soldiers in thy army: they hung up the buckler and the helmet in thee for thy ornament. | Persian and Lud and Phut Have been in thy forces thy men of war. Shield and helmet they hung up in thee, They they have given out thine honour. | Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged shield and helmet in thee; they gave splendour to thee. |
Ezekiel 27:11 | The men of Arad were with thy army upon thy walls round about: the Pygmeans also that were in thy towers, hung up their quivers on thy walls round about: they perfected thy beauty. | The sons of Arvad, and thy force, [Are] on thy walls round about, And short swordsmen in thy towers have been, Their shields they have hung up on thy walls round about, They they have perfected thy beauty. | The children of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadim were on thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they made thy beauty perfect. |
Ezekiel 27:12 | The Carthaginians thy merchants supplied thy fairs with a multitude of all kinds of riches, with silver, iron, tin, and lead. | Tarshish [is] thy merchant, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For silver, iron, tin, and lead, They have given out thy remnants. | Tarshish dealt with thee by reason of the abundance of all substance; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they furnished thy markets. |
Ezekiel 27:13 | Greece, Thubal, and Mosoch, they were thy merchants: they brought to thy people slaves and vessels of brass. | Javan, Tubal, and Meshech they [are] thy merchants, For persons of men, and vessels of brass, They have given out thy merchandise. | Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee the persons of men, and vessels of bronze. |

Ezekiel 27:15 | The men of Dedan were thy merchants: many islands were the traffic of thy hand, they exchanged for thy price teeth of ivory and ebony. | Sons of Dedan [are] thy merchants, Many isles [are] the mart of thy hand, Horns of ivory and ebony they sent back thy reward. | The children of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they rendered in payment horns of ivory, and ebony. |
Ezekiel 27:16 | The Syrian was thy merchant: by reason of the multitude of thy works, they set forth precious stones, and purple, and broidered works, and fine linen, and silk, and chodchod in thy market. | Aram [is] thy merchant, Because of the abundance of thy works, For emerald, purple, and embroidery, And fine linen, and coral, and agate, They have given out thy remnants. | Syria dealt with thee for the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded in thy markets with carbuncles, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and corals, and rubies. |
Ezekiel 27:17 | Juda and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants with the best corn: they set forth balm, and honey, and oil, and rosin in thy fairs. | Judah and the land of Israel they [are] thy merchants, For wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, And honey, and oil, and balm, They have given out thy merchandise. | Judah and the land of Israel were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee wheat of Minnith, and sweet cakes, and honey, and oil, and balm. |
Ezekiel 27:18 | The men of Damascus were thy merchants in the multitude of thy works, in the multitude of divers riches, in rich wine, in wool of the best colour. | Damascus [is] thy merchant, For the abundance of thy works, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For wine of Helbon, and white wool. | Damascus dealt with thee because of the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the abundance of all substance, with wine of Helbon, and white wool. |
Ezekiel 27:19 | Dan, and Greece, and Mosel have set forth in thy marts wrought iron: stacte, and calamus were in thy market. | Vedan and Javan go about with thy remnants, They have given shining iron, cassia, and cane, In thy merchandise it hath been. | Vedan and Javan of Uzal traded in thy markets: wrought iron, cassia, and calamus were in thy traffic. |
Ezekiel 27:20 | The men of Dedan were thy merchants in tapestry for seats. | Dedan [is] thy merchant, For clothes of freedom for riding. | Dedan was thy trafficker in precious riding-cloths. |
Ezekiel 27:21 | Arabia, and all the princes of Cedar, they were the merchants of thy hand: thy merchants came to thee with lambs, and rants, and kids. | Arabia, and all princes of Kedar, They [are] the traders of thy hand, For lambs, and rams, and he-goats, In these thy merchants. | Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were the merchants of thy hand: in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these did they trade with thee. |

Ezekiel 27:24 | They were thy merchants in divers manners, with bales of blue cloth, and of embroidered work, and of precious riches, which were wrapped up and bound with cords: they had cedars also in thy merchandise. | They [are] thy merchants for perfect things, For wrappings of blue, and embroidery, And for treasuries of rich apparel, With cords bound and girded, for thy merchandise, | these traded with thee in sumptuous clothes, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests full of variegated stuffs, bound with cords and made of cedar-wood, amongst thy merchandise. |
Ezekiel 27:25 | The ships of the sea, were thy chief in thy merchandise : and thou wast replenished, and glorified exceedingly in the heart of the sea. | Ships of Tarshish [are] thy double walls of thy merchandise, And thou art filled and honoured greatly, In the heart of the seas. | The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy traffic; and thou wast replenished, and highly honoured, in the heart of the seas. |

Ezekiel 27:27 | Thy riches, and thy treasures, and thy manifold furniture, thy mariners, and thy pilots, who kept thy goods, and were chief over thy people: thy men of war also, that were in thee, with all thy multitude that is in the midst of thee: shall fall in the heart of the sea in the day of thy ruin. | Thy wealth and thy remnants, Thy merchandise, thy mariners, And thy pilots, strengtheners of thy breach, And the traders of thy merchandise, And all thy men of war, who [are] in thee, And in all thine assembly that [is] in thy midst, Fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall, | Thy substance, and thy markets, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, they that repair thy leaks, and they that barter with thee, and all thy men of war that are in thee, along with all thine assemblage which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall. |
Ezekiel 27:28 | Thy fleets shall be troubled at the sound of the cry of thy pilots. | At the voice of the cry of thy pilots shake do the suburbs. | The open places shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots. |
Ezekiel 27:29 | And all that handled the oar shall come down from their ships: the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea shall stand upon the land: | And come down from their ships have all handling an oar, Mariners, all the pilots of the sea, on the land they stand, | And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land, |
Ezekiel 27:30 | And they shall mourn over thee with a loud voice, and shall cry bitterly: and they shall cast up dust upon their heads, and shall be sprinkled with ashes. | And have sounded for thee with their voice, And cry bitterly, and cause dust to go up on their heads, In ashes they do roll themselves. | and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly; and they shall cast up dust upon their heads; they shall wallow themselves in ashes. |
Ezekiel 27:31 | And they shall shave themselves bald for thee, and shall be girded with haircloth: and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of soul, with most bitter weeping. | And they have made for thee baldness, And they have girded on sackcloth, And they have wept for thee, In bitterness of soul a bitter mourning. | And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth; and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning. |
Ezekiel 27:32 | And they shall take up a mournful song for thee, and snail lament thee: What city is like Tyre, which is become silent in the midst of the sea? | And lifted up for thee have their sons a lamentation, And they have lamented over thee, who [is] as Tyre? As the cut-off one in the midst of the sea? | And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, [saying,] Who is like Tyre, like her that is destroyed in the midst of the sea? |
Ezekiel 27:33 | Which by thy merchandise that went from thee by sea didst fill many people: which by the multitude of thy riches, and of thy people didst enrich the kings of the earth. | With the outgoing of thy remnants from the seas, Thou hast filled many peoples, With the abundance of thy riches, and thy merchandise, Thou hast made rich things of earth. | When thy wares went forth over the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the abundance of thy substance and of thy merchandise. |
Ezekiel 27:34 | Now thou art destroyed by the sea, thy riches are in the bottom of the waters, and all the multitude that was in the midst of thee is fallen. | The time of [thy] being broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, Thy merchandise and all thy assembly in thy midst have fallen. | In the time [when] thou art broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thine assemblage in the midst of thee have fallen. |

Ezekiel 27:36 | The merchants of people have hissed at thee: thou art brought to nothing, and thou shalt never be any more. | Merchants among the peoples have shrieked for thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not to the age!` | The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more. |
