Romans 6:1 | What shall we say, then? shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? | What, then, shall we say? shall we continue in the sin that the grace may abound? | What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin that grace may abound? |
Romans 6:2 | God forbid. For we that are dead to sin, how shall we live any longer therein? | let it not be! we who died to the sin how shall we still live in it? | Far be the thought. We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it? |
Romans 6:3 | Know you not that all we, who are baptized in Christ Jesus, are baptized in his death? | are ye ignorant that we, as many as were baptized to Christ Jesus, to his death were baptized? | Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death? |
Romans 6:4 | For we are buried together with him by baptism into death; that as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life. | we were buried together, then, with him through the baptism to the death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we in newness of life might walk. | We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so *we* also should walk in newness of life. |
Romans 6:5 | For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. | For, if we have become planted together to the likeness of his death, [so] also we shall be of the rising again; | For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection; |
Romans 6:6 | Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin may be destroyed, to the end that we may serve sin no longer. | this knowing, that our old man was crucified with [him], that the body of the sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving the sin; | knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin. |
Romans 6:7 | For he that is dead is justified from sin. | for he who hath died hath been set free from the sin. | For he that has died is justified from sin. |
Romans 6:8 | Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall live also together with Christ: | And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also shall live with him, | Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him, |
Romans 6:9 | Knowing that Christ rising again from the dead, dieth now no more, death shall no more have dominion over him. | knowing that Christ, having been raised up out of the dead, doth no more die, death over him hath no more lordship; | knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more. |
Romans 6:10 | For in that he died to sin, he died once; but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God: | for in that he died, to the sin he died once, and in that he liveth, he liveth to God; | For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God. |
Romans 6:11 | So do you also reckon, that you are dead to sin, but alive unto God, in Christ Jesus our Lord. | so also ye, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to the sin, and living to God in Jesus Christ our Lord. | So also *ye*, reckon yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. |
Romans 6:12 | Let no sin therefore reign in your mortal body, so as to obey the lusts thereof. | Let not then the sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires; | Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body to obey its lusts. |
Romans 6:13 | Neither yield ye your members as instruments of iniquity unto sin; but present yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of justice unto God. | neither present ye your members instruments of unrighteousness to the sin, but present yourselves to God as living out of the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God; | Neither yield your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God as alive from among [the] dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God. |
Romans 6:14 | For sin shall not have dominion over you; for you are not under the law, but under grace. | for sin over you shall not have lordship, for ye are not under law, but under grace. | For sin shall not have dominion over *you*, for ye are not under law but under grace. |
Romans 6:15 | What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. | What then? shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? let it not be! | What then? should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Far be the thought. |
Romans 6:16 | Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are whom you obey, whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto justice. | have ye not known that to whom ye present yourselves servants for obedience, servants ye are to him to whom ye obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? | Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves bondmen for obedience, ye are bondmen to him whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? |
Romans 6:17 | But thanks be to God, that you were the servants of sin, but have obeyed from the heart, unto that form of doctrine, into which you have been delivered. | and thanks to God, that ye were servants of the sin, and were obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which ye were delivered up; | But thanks [be] to God, that ye were bondmen of sin, but have obeyed from the heart the form of teaching into which ye were instructed. |
Romans 6:18 | Being then freed from sin, we have been made servants of justice. | and having been freed from the sin, ye became servants to the righteousness. | Now, having got your freedom from sin, ye have become bondmen to righteousness. |
Romans 6:19 | I speak an human thing, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For as you have yielded your members to serve uncleanness and iniquity, unto iniquity; so now yield your members to serve justice, unto sanctification. | In the manner of men I speak, because of the weakness of your flesh, for even as ye did present your members servants to the uncleanness and to the lawlessness to the lawlessness, so now present your members servants to the righteousness to sanctification, | I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. For even as ye have yielded your members in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto holiness. |
Romans 6:20 | For when you were the servants of sin, you were free men to justice. | for when ye were servants of the sin, ye were free from the righteousness, | For when ye were bondmen of sin ye were free from righteousness. |
Romans 6:21 | What fruit therefore had you then in those things, of which you are now ashamed? For the end of them is death. | what fruit, therefore, were ye having then, in the things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of those [is] death. | What fruit therefore had ye *then* in the things of which ye are *now* ashamed? for the end of *them* [is] death. |
Romans 6:22 | But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end life everlasting. | And now, having been freed from the sin, and having become servants to God, ye have your fruit to sanctification, and the end life age-during; | But *now*, having got your freedom from sin, and having become bondmen to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end eternal life. |
Romans 6:23 | For the wages of sin is death. But the grace of God, life everlasting, in Christ Jesus our Lord. | for the wages of the sin [is] death, and the gift of God [is] life age-during in Christ Jesus our Lord. | For the wages of sin [is] death; but the act of favour of God, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
