Matthew 16:1 | And there came to him the Pharisees and Sadduccees tempting: and they asked him to shew them a sign from heaven. | And the Pharisees and Sadducees having come, tempting, did question him, to shew to them a sign from the heaven, | The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. |
Matthew 16:2 | But he answered and said to them: When it is evening, you say, It will be fair weather, for the sky is red. | and he answering said to them, `Evening having come, ye say, Fair weather, for the heaven is red, | He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. |
Matthew 16:3 | And in the morning: To day there will be a storm, for the sky is red and lowering. You know then how to discern the face of the sky: and can you not know the signs of the times? | and at morning, Foul weather to-day, for the heaven is red gloomy; hypocrites, the face of the heavens indeed ye do know to discern, but the signs of the times ye are not able! | And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? |
Matthew 16:4 | A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. And he left them, and went away. | `A generation evil and adulterous doth seek a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet;` and having left them he went away. | A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. Matthew 16:5 | And when his disciples were come over the water, they had forgotten to take bread. | And his disciples having come to the other side, forgot to take loaves, | And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. |
Matthew 16:6 | Who said to them: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. | and Jesus said to them, `Beware, and take heed of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees;` | Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. |
Matthew 16:7 | But they thought within themselves, saying: Because we have taken no bread. | and they were reasoning in themselves, saying, `Because we took no loaves.` | And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. |
Matthew 16:8 | And Jesus knowing it, said: Why do you think within yourselves, O ye of little faith, for that you have no bread? | And Jesus having known, said to them, `Why reason ye in yourselves, ye of little faith, because ye took no loaves? | Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? |

Matthew 16:18 | And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. | `And I also say to thee, that thou art a rock, and upon this rock I will build my assembly, and gates of Hades shall not prevail against it; | And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. |
Matthew 16:19 | And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. | and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.` | And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. |
Matthew 16:20 | Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ. | Then did he charge his disciples that they may say to no one that he is Jesus the Christ. | Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. |

Matthew 16:26 | For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul? | for what is a man profited if he may gain the whole world, but of his life suffer loss? or what shall a man give as an exchange for his life? | For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? |
Matthew 16:27 | For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels: and then will he render to every man according to his works. | `For, the Son of Man is about to come in the glory of his Father, with his messengers, and then he will reward each, according to his work. | For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. |
Matthew 16:28 | Amen I say to you, there are some of them that stand here, that shall not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. | Verily I say to you, there are certain of those standing here who shall not taste of death till they may see the Son of Man coming in his reign.` | Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. |
