Acts 22:5As the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the ancients: from whom also receiving letters to the brethren, I went to Damascus, that I might bring them bound from thence to Jerusalem to be punished.as also the chief priest doth testify to me, and all the eldership; from whom also having received letters unto the brethren, to Damascus, I was going on, to bring also those there bound to Jerusalem that they might be punished,as the High Priest also and all the Elders can bear me witness. It was, too, from them that I received letters to the brethren in Damascus, and I was already on my way to Damascus, intending to bring those also who had fled there, in chains to Jerusalem, to be punished.
Acts 22:6And it came to pass, as I was going, and drawing nigh to Damascus at midday, that suddenly from heaven there shone round about me a great light:and it came to pass, in my going on and coming nigh to Damascus, about noon, suddenly out of the heaven there shone a great light round about me,"But on my way, when I was now not far from Damascus, about noon a sudden blaze of light from Heaven shone round me.

Acts 22:8And I answered: Who art thou, Lord? And he said to me: I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.`And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? and he said unto me, I am Jesus the Nazarene whom thou dost persecute"`Who art thou, Lord?' I asked. "`I am Jesus, the Nazarene,' He replied, `whom you are persecuting.'
Acts 22:9And they that were with me, saw indeed the light, but they heard not the voice of him that spoke with me.and they who are with me the light did see, and became afraid, and the voice they heard not of him who is speaking to me"Now the men who were with me, though they saw the light, did not hear the words of Him who spoke to me.
Acts 22:10And I said: What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said to me: Arise, and go to Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things that thou must do.and I said, What shall I do, Lord? and the Lord said unto me, Having risen, go on to Damascus, and there it shall be told thee concerning all things that have been appointed for thee to do.And I asked, "`What am I to do, Lord?' And I the same hour looked upon him.having come unto me and stood by [me], said to me, Saul, brother, look up; and I the same hour did look up to him;came to me and standing at my side said, "`Brother Saul, recover your sight.' "I instantly regained my sight and looked up at him.
Acts 22:14But he said: The God of our fathers hath preordained thee that thou shouldst know his will, and see the Just One, and shouldst hear the voice from his mouth.and he said, The God of our fathers did choose thee beforehand to know His will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice out of his mouth,Then he said, `The God of our forefathers has appointed you to know His will, and to see the righteous One and hear Him speak.
Acts 22:15For thou shalt be his witness to all men, of those things which thou hast seen and heard.because thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard;For you shall be a witness for Him, to all men, of what you have seen and heard.
Acts 22:16And now why tarriest thou? Rise up, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, invoking his name.and now, why tarriest thou? having risen, baptize thyself, and wash away thy sins, calling upon the name of the Lord.And now why delay? Rise, get yourself baptized, and wash off your sins, calling upon His name.'
Acts 22:17And it came to pass, when I was come again to Jerusalem, and was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance,`And it came to pass when I returned to Jerusalem, and while I was praying in the temple, I came into a trance,"After my return to Jerusalem, and while praying in the Temple, I fell into a trance.
Acts 22:18And saw him saying unto me: Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem; because they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.and I saw him saying to me, Haste and go forth in haste out of Jerusalem, because they will not receive thy testimony concerning me;I saw Jesus, and He said to me, "`Make haste and leave Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about Me.'
Acts 22:19And I said: Lord, they know that I cast into prison, and beat in every synagogue, them that believed in thee.and I said, Lord, they they know that I was imprisoning and was scourging in every synagogue those believing on thee;"`Lord,' I replied, `they themselves well know how active I was in imprisoning, and in flogging in synagogue after synagogue those who believe in Thee;
Acts 22:20And when the blood of Stephen thy witness was shed, I stood by and consented, and kept the garments of them that killed him.and when the blood of thy witness Stephen was being poured forth, I also was standing by and assenting to his death, and keeping the garments of those putting him to death;and when they were shedding the blood of Stephen, Thy witness, I was standing by, fully approving of it, and I held the clothes of those who were killing him.'

Acts 22:25And when they had bound him with thongs, Paul saith to the centurion that stood by him: Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?And as he was stretching him with the thongs, Paul said unto the centurion who was standing by, `A man, a Roman, uncondemned is it lawful to you to scourge;`But, when they had tied him up with the straps, Paul said to the Captain who stood by, "Does the Law permit you to flog a Roman citizen and one too who is uncondemned?"
Acts 22:26Which the centurion hearing, went to the tribune, and told him, saying: What art thou about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.and the centurion having heard, having gone near to the chief captain, told, saying, `Take heed what thou art about to do, for this man is a Roman;`On hearing this question, the Captain went to report the matter to the Tribune.
