1st-Peter 3:1In like manner also let wives be subject to their husbands: that if any believe not the word, they may be won without the word, by the conversation of the wives.In like manner, the wives, be ye subject to your own husbands, that even if certain are disobedient to the word, through the conversation of the wives, without the word, they may be won,In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be gained by the behavior of their wives without a word;
1st-Peter 3:2Considering your chaste conversation with fear.having beheld your pure behaviour in fear,seeing your pure behavior in fear.
1st-Peter 3:3Whose adorning let it not be the outward plaiting of the hair, or the wearing of gold, or the putting on of apparel:whose adorning let it not be that which is outward, of plaiting of hair, and of putting around of things of gold, or of putting on of garments,Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;
1st-Peter 3:4But the hidden man of the heart in the incorruptibility of a quiet and a meek spirit, which is rich in the sight of God.but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible thing of the meek and quiet spirit, which is, before God, of great price,but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.
1st-Peter 3:5For after this manner heretofore the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:for thus once also the holy women who did hope on God, were adorning themselves, being subject to their own husbands,For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God, also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:
1st-Peter 3:6As Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters you are, doing well, and not fearing any disturbance.as Sarah was obedient to Abraham, calling him `sir,` of whom ye did become daughters, doing good, and not fearing any terror.as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.
1st-Peter 3:7Ye husbands, likewise dwelling with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the female as to the weaker vessel, and as to the co-heirs of the grace of life: that your prayers be not hindered.The husbands, in like manner, dwelling with [them], according to knowledge, as to a weaker vessel to the wife imparting honour, as also being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; not cutting off your prayers.
1st-Peter 3:8And in fine, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, being lovers of the brotherhood, merciful, modest, humble:And finally, being all of one mind, having fellow-feeling, loving as brethren, compassionate, courteous,Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
1st-Peter 3:9Not rendering evil for evil, nor railing for railing, but contrariwise, blessing: for unto this are you called, that you may inherit a blessing.not giving back evil for evil, or railing for railing, and on the contrary, blessing, having known that to this ye were called, that a blessing ye may inherit;not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
1st-Peter 3:10For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.for `he who is willing to love life, and to see good days, let him guard his tongue from evil, and his lips not to speak guile;For, "He who would love life, And see good days, Let him keep his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.
1st-Peter 3:11Let him decline from evil, and do good: let him seek after peace and pursue it:let him turn aside from evil, and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it;Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
1st-Peter 3:12Because the eyes of the Lord are upon the just, and his ears unto their prayers: but the countenance of the Lord upon them that do evil things.because the eyes of the Lord [are] upon the righteous, and His ears to their supplication, and the face of the Lord [is] upon those doing evil;`For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And his ears open to their prayer; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
1st-Peter 3:13And who is he that can hurt you, if you be zealous of good?and who [is] he who will be doing you evil, if of Him who is good ye may become imitators?Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good?
1st-Peter 3:14But if also you suffer any thing for justice' sake, blessed are ye. And be not afraid of their fear, and be not troubled.but if ye also should suffer because of righteousness, happy [are ye]! and of their fear be not afraid, nor be troubled,But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "Don't fear what they fear, neither be troubled."
1st-Peter 3:15But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you.and the Lord God sanctify in your hearts. And [be] ready always for defence to every one who is asking of you an account concerning the hope that [is] in you, with meekness and fear;But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:
1st-Peter 3:16But with modesty and fear, having a good conscience: that whereas they speak evil of you, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.having a good conscience, that in that in which they speak against you as evil-doers, they may be ashamed who are traducing your good behaviour in Christ;having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.
1st-Peter 3:17For it is better doing well (if such be the will of God) to suffer, than doing ill.for [it is] better doing good, if the will of God will it, to suffer, than doing evil;For it is better, if the will of God should so will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil.
1st-Peter 3:18Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit,because also Christ once for sin did suffer righteous for unrighteous that he might lead us to God, having been put to death indeed, in the flesh, and having been made alive in the spirit,Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
1st-Peter 3:19In which also coming he preached to those spirits that were in prison:in which also to the spirits in prison having gone he did preach,in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,
1st-Peter 3:20Which had been some time incredulous, when they waited for the patience of God in the days of Noe, when the ark was a building: wherein a few, that is, eight souls, were saved by water.who sometime disbelieved, when once the long-suffering of God did wait, in days of Noah an ark being preparing in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;who before were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ark was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
1st-Peter 3:21Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.also to which an antitype doth now save us baptism, (not a putting away of the filth of flesh, but the question of a good conscience in regard to God,) through the rising again of Jesus Christ,This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you - not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1st-Peter 3:22Who is on the right hand of God, swallowing down death, that we might be made heirs of life everlasting: being gone into heaven, the angels and powers and virtues being made subject to him.who is at the right hand of God, having gone on to heaven messengers, and authorities, and powers, having been subjected to him.who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
