Exodus 24:1And he said to Moses: Come up to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel, and you shall adore afar off.And unto Moses He said, `Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and ye have bowed yourselves afar off;`He said to Moses, "Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.
Exodus 24:2And Moses alone shall come up to the Lord, but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people come up with him.and Moses hath drawn nigh by himself unto Jehovah; and they draw not nigh, and the people go not up with him.Moses alone shall come near to Yahweh, but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him."
Exodus 24:3So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice: We will do all the words of the Lord, which he hath spoken.And Moses cometh in, and recounteth to the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments, and all the people answer one voice, and say, `All the words which Jehovah hath spoken we do.`Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahweh, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do."
Exodus 24:4And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord: and rising in the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mount, and twelve titles according to the twelve tribes of Israel.And Moses writeth all the words of Jehovah, and riseth early in the morning, and buildeth an altar under the hill, and twelve standing pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel;Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
Exodus 24:5And he sent young men of the children of Israel, and they offered holocausts, and sacrificed pacific victims of calves to the Lord.and he sendeth the youths of the sons of Israel, and they cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings to Jehovah calves.He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace-offerings of oxen to Yahweh.
Exodus 24:6Then Moses took half of the blood, and put it into bowls: and the rest he poured upon the altar.And Moses taketh half of the blood, and putteth in basins, and half of the blood hath he sprinkled on the altar;Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
Exodus 24:7And taking the book of the covenant, he read it in the hearing of the people: and they said: All things that the Lord hath spoken we will do, we will be obedient.and he taketh the Book of the Covenant, and proclaimeth in the ears of the people, and they say, `All that which Jehovah hath spoken we do, and obey.`He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, "All that Yahweh has spoken will we do, and be obedient."
Exodus 24:8And he took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people, and he said: This is the blood of the covenant which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.And Moses taketh the blood, and sprinkleth on the people, and saith, `Lo, the blood of the covenant which Jehovah hath made with you, concerning all these things.`Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, "Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words."
Exodus 24:9Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel went up:And Moses goeth up, Aaron also, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.
Exodus 24:10And they saw the God of Israel: and under his feet as it were a work of sapphire stone, and as the heaven, when clear.and they see the God of Israel, and under His feet [is] as the white work of the sapphire, and as the substance of the heavens for purity;They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.
Exodus 24:11Neither did he lay his hand upon those of the children of Israel, that retired afar off, and they saw God, and they did eat and drink.and unto those of the sons of Israel who are near He hath not put forth His hand, and they see God, and eat and drink.He didn't lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.
Exodus 24:12And the Lord said to Moses: Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and the law, and the commandments which I have written: that thou mayst teach them.And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Come up unto Me to the mount, and be there, and I give to thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the command, which I have written to direct them.`Yahweh said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the tables of stone with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them."
Exodus 24:13Moses rose up, and his minister Josue: and Moses going up into the mount of God,And Moses riseth Joshua his minister also and Moses goeth up unto the mount of God;Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God's Mountain.
Exodus 24:14Said to the ancients: Wait ye here till we return to you. You have Aaron and Hur with you: if any question shall arise, you shall refer it to them.and unto the elders he hath said, `Abide ye for us in this [place], until that we turn back unto you, and lo, Aaron and Hur [are] with you he who hath matters doth come nigh unto them.`He said to the elders, "Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them."
Exodus 24:15And when Moses was gone up, a cloud covered the mount.And Moses goeth up unto the mount, and the cloud covereth the mount;Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
Exodus 24:16And the glory of the Lord dwelt upon Sinai, covering it with a cloud six days: and the seventh day he called him out of the midst of the cloud.and the honour of Jehovah doth tabernacle on mount Sinai, and the cloud covereth it six days, and He calleth unto Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud.The glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
Exodus 24:17And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like a burning fire upon the top of the mount, in the eyes of the children of Israel.And the appearance of the honour of Jehovah [is] as a consuming fire on the top of the mount, before the eyes of the sons of Israel;The appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.
Exodus 24:18And Moses, entering into the midst of the cloud, went up into the mountain: and he was there forty days, and forty nights.and Moses goeth into the midst of the cloud, and goeth up unto the mount, and Moses is on the mount forty days and forty nights.Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
