Numbers 14:2And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying:and all the sons of Israel murmur against Moses, and against Aaron, and all the company say unto them, `O that we had died in the land of Egypt, or in this wilderness, O that we had died!All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said to them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!
Numbers 14:3Would God that we had died in Egypt and would God we may die in this vast wilderness, and that the Lord may not bring us into this land, lest we fall by the sword, and our wives and children be led away captives. Is it not better to return into Egypt?and why is Jehovah bringing us in unto this land to fall by the sword? our wives and our infants are become a prey; is it not good for us to turn back to Egypt?`Why does Yahweh bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: wouldn't it be better for us to return into Egypt?
Numbers 14:4And they said one to another: Let us appoint a captain, and let us return into Egypt.And they say one unto another, `Let us appoint a head, and turn back to Egypt.`They said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
Numbers 14:5And when Moses and Aaron heard this, they fell down flat upon the ground before the multitude of the children of Israel.And Moses falleth Aaron also on their faces, before all the assembly of the company of the sons of Israel.Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
Numbers 14:6But Josue the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephone, who themselves also had viewed the land, rent their garments,And Joshua son of Nun, and Caleb son of Jephunneh, of those spying the land, have rent their garments,Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes:
Numbers 14:7And said to all the multitude of the children of Israel: The land which we have gone round is very good:and they speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, saying, `The land into which we have passed over to spy it, [is] a very very good land;and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land.
Numbers 14:8If the Lord be favourable, he will bring us into it, and give us a land flowing with milk and honey.if Jehovah hath delighted in us, then He hath brought us in unto this land, and hath given it to us, a land which is flowing with milk and honey;If Yahweh delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which flows with milk and honey.
Numbers 14:9Be not rebellious against the Lord: and fear ye not the people of this land, for we are able to eat them up as bread. All aid is gone from them: the Lord is with us, fear ye not.only, against Jehovah rebel not ye: and ye, fear not ye the people of the land, for our bread they [are]; their defence hath turned aside from off them, and Jehovah [is] with us; fear them not.`Only don't rebel against Yahweh, neither fear you the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is removed from over them, and Yahweh is with us: don't fear them.
Numbers 14:10And when all the multitude cried out, and would have stoned them, the glory of the Lord appeared over the tabernacle of the covenant to all the children of Israel.And all the company say to stone them with stones, and the honour of Jehovah hath appeared in the tent of meeting unto all the sons of Israel.But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. The glory of Yahweh appeared in the tent of meeting to all the children of Israel.
Numbers 14:11And the Lord said to Moses: How long will this people detract me? how long will they not believe me for all the signs that I have wrought before them?And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Until when doth this people despise Me? and until when do they not believe in Me, for all the signs which I have done in its midst?Yahweh said to Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?
Numbers 14:12I will strike them therefore with pestilence, and will consume them: but thee I will make a ruler over a great nation, and a mightier than this is.I smite it with pestilence, and dispossess it, and make thee become a nation greater and mightier than it.`I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.
Numbers 14:13And Moses said to the Lord: That the Egyptians, from the midst of whom thou hast brought forth this people,And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `Then have the Egyptians heard! for Thou hast brought up with Thy power this people out of their midst,Moses said to Yahweh, Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them;
Numbers 14:14And the inhabitants of this land, (who have heard that thou, O Lord, art among this people, and art seen face to face, and thy cloud protecteth them, and thou goest before them in a pillar of a cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night,)and they have said [it] unto the inhabitant of this land, they have heard that Thou, Jehovah, [art] in the midst of this people, that eye to eye Thou art seen O Jehovah, and Thy cloud is standing over them, and in a pillar of cloud Thou art going before them by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you Yahweh are in the midst of this people; for you Yahweh are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.
Numbers 14:15May hear that thou hast killed so great a multitude as it were one man and may say:`And Thou hast put to death this people as one man, and the nations who have heard Thy fame have spoken, saying,Now if you shall kill this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,
Numbers 14:16He could not bring the people into the land for which he had sworn, therefore did he kill them in the wilderness.From Jehovah`s want of ability to bring in this people unto the land which He hath sworn to them He doth slaughter them in the wilderness.Because Yahweh was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.
Numbers 14:17Let their the strength of the Lord be magnified, as thou hast sworn, saying:`And now, let, I pray Thee, the power of my Lord be great, as Thou hast spoken, saying:Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying,
Numbers 14:18The Lord is patient and full of mercy, taking away iniquity and wickedness, and leaving no man clear, who visitest the sins of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.Jehovah [is] slow to anger, and of great kindness; bearing away iniquity and transgression, and not entirely acquitting, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on a third [generation], and on a fourth;Yahweh is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and that will by no means clear [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.

Numbers 14:21As I live: and the whole earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.and yet, I live and it is filled the whole earth [with] the honour of Jehovah;but in very deed, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of Yahweh;
Numbers 14:22But yet all the men that have seen my majesty, and the signs that I have done in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now ten times, and have not obeyed my voice,for all the men who are seeing My honour, and My signs, which I have done in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and try Me these ten times, and have not hearkened to My voicebecause all those men who have seen my glory, and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;
Numbers 14:23Shall not see the land for which I aware to their fathers, neither shall any one of them that hath detracted me behold it.they see not the land which I have sworn to their fathers, yea, none of those despising Me see it;surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised me see it:
Numbers 14:24My servant Caleb, who being full of another spirit hath followed me, I will bring into this land which he hath gone round: and his seed shall possess it.and My servant Caleb, because there hath been another spirit with him, and he is fully after Me I have brought him in unto the land whither he hath entered, and his seed doth possess it.but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him will I bring into the land into which he went; and his seed shall possess it.
Numbers 14:25For the Amalecite and the Chanaanite dwell in the valleys. To morrow remove the camp, and return into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.`And the Amalekite and the Canaanite are dwelling in the valley; to-morrow turn ye and journey for yourselves into the wilderness the way of the Red Sea.`Now the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley: tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.
Numbers 14:26And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, saying,Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Numbers 14:27How long doth this wicked multitude murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel.`Until when hath this evil company that which they are murmuring against Me? the murmurings of the sons of Israel, which they are murmuring against Me, I have heard;How long [shall I bear] with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
Numbers 14:28Say therefore to them: As I live, saith the Lord: According as you have spoken in my hearing, so will I do to you.say unto them, I live an affirmation of Jehovah if, as ye have spoken in Mine ears so I do not to you;Tell them, As I live, says Yahweh, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you:
Numbers 14:29fin the wilderness shall your carcasses lie. All you that were numbered from twenty years old and upward, and have murmured against me,in this wilderness do your carcases fall, even all your numbered ones, to all your number, from a son of twenty years and upward, who have murmured against Me;your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me,
Numbers 14:30Shall not enter into the land, over which I lifted up my bend to make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephone, and Josue the son of Nun.ye ye come not in unto the land which I have lifted up My hand to cause you to tabernacle in it, except Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.surely you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
Numbers 14:31But your children, of whom you said, that they should be a prey to the enemies, will I bring in: that they may see the land which you have despised.`As to your infants of whom ye have said, A spoil they are become I have even brought them in, and they have known the land which ye have kicked against;But your little ones, that you said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.
Numbers 14:32Your carcasses shall lie in the wilderness.as to you your carcases do fall in this wilderness,But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.
Numbers 14:33Your children shall wander in the desert forty years, and shall bear your fornication, until the carcasses of their fathers be consumed ill the desert,and your sons are evil in the wilderness forty years, and have borne your whoredoms till your carcases are consumed in the wilderness;Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.
Numbers 14:34According to the number of the forty days, wherein you viewed the land: year shall be counted for a day. And forty years you shall receive your iniquities, and shall know my revenge:by the number of the days [in] which ye spied the land, forty days, a day for a year, a day for a year ye do bear your iniquities, forty years, and ye have known my breaking off;After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my alienation.
Numbers 14:35For as I have spoken, so will I do to all this wicked multitude, that hath risen up together against me: in this wilderness shall it faint away and die.I [am] Jehovah, I have spoken; if I do not this to all this evil company who are meeting against me; in this wilderness they are consumed, and there they die.`I, Yahweh, have spoken, surely this will I do to all this evil congregation, who are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
Numbers 14:36Therefore all the men, whom Moses had sent to view the land, and who at their return had made the whole multitude to murmur against him, speaking ill of the land that it was naught,And the men whom Moses hath sent to spy the land, and they turn back and cause all the company to murmur against him, by bringing out an evil account concerning the land,The men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land,
Numbers 14:37Died and were struck in the sight of the Lord.even the men bringing out an evil account of the land die by the plague before Jehovah;even those men who did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Yahweh.
Numbers 14:38But Josue .the son of Nun. and Caleb the son of Jephone lived, of all them that had gone to view the land.and Joshua son of Nun, and Caleb son of Jephunneh, have lived of those men who go to spy out the land.But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

Numbers 14:41And Moses said to them: Why transgress you the word of the Lord, which shall not succeed prosperously with you?And Moses saith, `Why [is] this? ye are transgressing the command of Jehovah, and it doth not prosper;Moses said, Why now do you disobey the commandment of Yahweh, seeing it shall not prosper?
Numbers 14:42Go not up, for the Lord is not with you: lest you fall before your enemies.go not up, for Jehovah is not in your midst, and ye are not smitten before your enemies;Don't go up, for Yahweh isn't among you; that you not be struck down before your enemies.
Numbers 14:43The Amalecite and the Chanaanite are before you, and by their sword you shall fall, because you would not consent to the Lord, neither will the Lord be with you.for the Amalekite and the Canaanite [are] there before you, and ye have fallen by the sword, because that ye have turned back from after Jehovah, and Jehovah is not with you.`For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you shall fall by the sword: because you are turned back from following Yahweh, therefore Yahweh will not be with you.
