Acts 10:1There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, Now [there was] a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band], Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, the captain of the Italian band of the army;
Acts 10:2A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. A serious-minded man, fearing God with all his family; he gave much money to the poor, and made prayer to God at all times.
Acts 10:3He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. He saw in a vision openly, as it were about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius. He saw in a vision, clearly, at about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of the Lord coming to him and saying to him, Cornelius!
Acts 10:4And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God. And he, looking on him in fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Your prayers and your offerings have come up to God, and he has kept them in mind.
Acts 10:5And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: And now send men to Joppa, and fetch one Simon, who is surnamed Peter: Now send men to Joppa, and get one Simon, named Peter,
Acts 10:6He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. Who is living with Simon, a leather-worker, whose house is by the sea.
Acts 10:7And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household-servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; And when the angel who said these words to him had gone away, he sent for two of his house-servants, and a God-fearing man of the army, one of those who were waiting on him at all times;
Acts 10:8And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. And having given them an account of everything, he sent them to Joppa.
Acts 10:9On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour: Now the day after, when they were on their journey and were near the town, Peter went up to the top of the house for prayer, about the sixth hour:
Acts 10:10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance; And he was in need of food: but while they were getting it ready, a deep sleep came on him;
Acts 10:11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: and he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth: And he saw the heavens opening, and a vessel coming down, like a great cloth let down on the earth,
Acts 10:12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven. In which were all sorts of beasts and birds.
Acts 10:13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat. And a voice came to him, saying, Come, Peter; take them for food.
Acts 10:14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean. But Peter said, No, Lord; for I have never taken food which is common or unclean.
Acts 10:15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common. And the voice came to him a second time, What God has made clean, do not you make common.
Acts 10:16This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven. And this was done three times: and then the vessel was taken back into heaven.
Acts 10:17Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate, Now while Peter was much perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men that were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate, Now while Peter was in doubt as to the purpose of this vision, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made search for Simon's house, came to the door,
Acts 10:18And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, were lodging there. To see if Simon, named Peter, was living there.
Acts 10:19While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. And while Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. And, while Peter was turning the vision over in his mind, the Spirit said to him, See, three men are looking for you.
Acts 10:20Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. But arise, and get thee down, and go with them, nothing doubting: for I have sent them. Go down, then, and go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them.
Acts 10:21Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? And Peter went down to the men, and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? And Peter went down to the men, and said, I am the man you are looking for: why have you come?
Acts 10:22And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee. And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned [of God] by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee. And they said, Cornelius, a captain, an upright and God-fearing man, respected by all the nation of the Jews, had word from God by an angel to send for you to his house, and to give hearing to your words.
Acts 10:23Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him. So he called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow he arose and went forth with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him. So he took them in for the night. And the day after, he went with them, taking some of the brothers from Joppa with him.
Acts 10:24And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends. And on the morrow they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and his near friends. And the day after that, they came to Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having got together his relations and his near friends.
Acts 10:25And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. And when it came to pass that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. And when Peter came in, Cornelius came to him and, falling down at his feet, gave him worship.
Acts 10:26But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. But Peter raised him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. But Peter, lifting him up, said, Get up, for I am a man as you are.
Acts 10:27And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together. And as he talked with him, he went in, and findeth many come together: And saying these words, he went in, and saw that a great number of people had come together;
Acts 10:28And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and [yet] unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean: And he said to them, You yourselves have knowledge that it is against the law for a man who is a Jew to be in the company of one who is of another nation; but God has made it clear to me that no man may be named common or unclean:
Acts 10:29Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me? wherefore also I came without gainsaying, when I was sent for. I ask therefore with what intent ye sent for me. And so I came without question, when I was sent for. What then is your purpose in sending for me?
Acts 10:30And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, And Cornelius said, Four days ago, until this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, And Cornelius said, Four days from now I was in my house in prayer at the ninth hour; and I saw before me a man in shining clothing,
Acts 10:31And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. and saith, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. Who said, Cornelius, your prayer has come to the ears of God, and your offerings are kept in his memory.
Acts 10:32Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee. Send therefore to Joppa, and call unto thee Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side. Send, then, to Joppa, and get Simon, named Peter, to come to you; he is living in the house of Simon, a leather-worker, by the sea.
Acts 10:33Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God. Forthwith therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee of the Lord. So, straight away, I sent for you; and you have done well to come. And now, we are all present before God, ready to give attention to all the things which the Lord has given you to say.
Acts 10:34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: Then Peter said, Truly, I see clearly that God is no respecter of persons:
Acts 10:35But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him. But in every nation, the man who has fear of him and does righteousness is pleasing to him.
Acts 10:36The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all.) -- The word which he sent to the children of Israel, giving the good news of peace through Jesus Christ (who is Lord of all)
Acts 10:37That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; That word you yourselves have knowledge of, which was made public through all Judaea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism of which John was the preacher,
Acts 10:38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. [even] Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. About Jesus of Nazareth, how God gave the Holy Spirit to him, with power: and how he went about doing good and making well all who were troubled by evil spirits, for God was with him.
Acts 10:39And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom also they slew, hanging him on a tree. And we are witnesses of all the things which he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they put to death, hanging him on a tree.
Acts 10:40Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest, On the third day God gave him back to life, and let him be seen,
Acts 10:41Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, [even] to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. Not by all the people, but by witnesses marked out before by God, even by us, who took food and drink with him after he came back from the dead.
Acts 10:42And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. And he charged us to preach unto the people, and to testify that this is he who is ordained of God [to be] the Judge of the living and the dead. And he gave us orders to give news of this to the people, and to give public witness that this is he whom God has made judge of the living and the dead.
Acts 10:43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins. To him all the prophets give witness, that through his name everyone who has faith in him will have forgiveness of sins.
Acts 10:44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them that heard the word. While Peter was saying these words, the Holy Spirit came on all those who were hearing the word.
Acts 10:45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit. And the Jews of the faith, who had come with Peter, were full of wonder, because the Holy Spirit was given to the Gentiles,
Acts 10:46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, And they were talking in tongues, and giving glory to God. Then Peter said,
Acts 10:47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we? Will any man say that these may not have baptism who have been given the Holy Spirit as we have?
Acts 10:48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. And he gave orders for them to have baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they kept him with them for some days.
