Mark 14:1After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. Now after two days was [the feast of] the passover and the unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him with subtlety, and kill him: Now the passover and the [feast of] unleavened bread was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might seize him by subtlety and kill him.
Mark 14:2But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people. for they said, Not during the feast, lest haply there shall be a tumult of the people. For they said, Not in the feast, lest perhaps there be a tumult of the people.
Mark 14:3And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. And while he was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster cruse of ointment of pure nard very costly; [and] she brake the cruse, and poured it over his head. And when he was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he lay at table, there came a woman having an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly; and having broken the alabaster flask, she poured it out upon his head.
Mark 14:4And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? But there were some that had indignation among themselves, [saying], To what purpose hath this waste of the ointment been made? And there were some indignant in themselves, and saying, Why has this waste been made of the ointment?
Mark 14:5For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. For this ointment might have been sold for above three hundred shillings, and given to the poor. And they murmured against her. for this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor. And they spoke very angrily at her.
Mark 14:6And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. But Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. But Jesus said, Let her alone; why do ye trouble her? she has wrought a good work as to me;
Mark 14:7For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. Mark 14:8She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. She hath done what she could; she hath anointed my body beforehand for the burying. What *she* could she has done. She has beforehand anointed my body for the burial.
Mark 14:9Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, what this [woman] has done shall be also spoken of for a memorial of her.
Mark 14:10And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. And Judas Iscariot, he that was one of the twelve, went away unto the chief priests, that he might deliver him unto them. And Judas Iscariote, one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests that he might deliver him up to them;
Mark 14:11And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. And they, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently deliver him [unto them]. and they, when they heard it, rejoiced, and promised him to give money. And he sought how he could opportunely deliver him up.
Mark 14:12And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? And on the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the passover, his disciples say unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and make ready that thou mayest eat the passover? And the first day of unleavened bread, when they slew the passover, his disciples say to him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?
Mark 14:13And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. And he sendeth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him; And he sends two of his disciples, and says to them, Go into the city, and a man shall meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him.
Mark 14:14And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? and wheresoever he shall enter in, say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith, Where is my guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? And wheresoever he enters, say to the master of the house, The Teacher says, Where is my guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
Mark 14:15And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. And he will himself show you a large upper room furnished [and] ready: and there make ready for us. and *he* will shew you a large upper room furnished ready. There make ready for us.
Mark 14:16And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. And his disciples went away and came into the city, and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the passover.
Mark 14:17And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. And when it was evening he cometh with the twelve. And when evening was come, he comes with the twelve.
Mark 14:18And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. And as they sat and were eating, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you shall betray me, [even] he that eateth with me. And as they lay at table and were eating, Jesus said, Verily I say to you, One of you shall deliver me up; he who is eating with me.
Mark 14:19And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? They began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? And they began to be grieved, and to say to him, one by one, Is it *I*? [and another, Is it *I*?]
Mark 14:20And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. And he said unto them, [It is] one of the twelve, he that dippeth with me in the dish. But he answered and said to them, One of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.
Mark 14:21The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. For the Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born. The Son of man goes indeed as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; [it were] good for that man if he had not been born.
Mark 14:22And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And as they were eating, he took bread, and when he had blessed, he brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take ye: this is my body. And as they were eating, Jesus, having taken bread, when he had blessed, broke [it], and gave [it] to them, and said, Take [this]: this is my body.
Mark 14:23And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them: and they all drank of it. And having taken [the] cup, when he had given thanks, he gave [it] to them, and they all drank out of it.
Mark 14:24And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. And he said to them, This is my blood, that of the [new] covenant, that shed for many.
Mark 14:25Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, I shall no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God. Verily I say to you, I will no more drink at all of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
Mark 14:26And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out unto the mount of Olives. And having sung a hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives.
Mark 14:27And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered abroad. And Jesus says to them, All ye shall be offended, for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered abroad.
Mark 14:28But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee. Howbeit, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee. But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
Mark 14:29But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. But Peter said to him, Even if all should be offended, yet not *I*.
Mark 14:30And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that thou to-day, [even] this night, before the cock crow twice, shalt deny me thrice. And Jesus says to him, Verily I say to thee, that thou to-day, in this night, before [the] cock shall crow twice, thou shalt thrice deny me.
Mark 14:31But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all. But he spake exceedingly vehemently, If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner also said they all. But he said [so much] exceedingly the more, If I should have to die with thee, I will in no wise deny thee. And likewise said they all too.
Mark 14:32And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. And they come unto a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I pray. And they come to a place of which the name [is] Gethsemane, and he says to his disciples, Sit here while I shall pray.
Mark 14:33And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly amazed, and sore troubled. And he takes with him Peter and James and John, and he began to be amazed and oppressed in spirit.
Mark 14:34And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. And he saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: abide ye here, and watch. And he says to them, My soul is full of grief even unto death; abide here and watch.
Mark 14:35And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And, going forward a little, he fell upon the earth; and he prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.
Mark 14:36And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; remove this cup from me: howbeit not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee: take away this cup from me; but not what *I* will, but what *thou* [wilt].
Mark 14:37And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest thou not watch one hour? And he comes and finds them sleeping. And he says to Peter, Simon, dost thou sleep? Hast thou not been able to watch one hour?
Mark 14:38Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh weak.
Mark 14:39And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. And again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words. And going away, he prayed again, saying the same thing.
Mark 14:40And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him. And again he came, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they knew not what to answer him. And returning, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what they should answer him.
Mark 14:41And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough; the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. And he comes the third time and says to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough; the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
Mark 14:42Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. Arise, let us be going: behold, he that betrayeth me is at hand. Arise, let us go; behold, he that delivers me up has drawn nigh.
Mark 14:43And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. And straightway, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, Judas comes up, [being] one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd, with swords and sticks, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
Mark 14:44And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely. Now he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he; take him, and lead him away safely. Now he that delivered him up had given them a sign between them, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he; seize him, and lead [him] away safely.
Mark 14:45And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him. And when he was come, straightway he came to him, and saith, Rabbi; and kissed him. And being come, straightway coming up to him, he says, Rabbi, Rabbi; and he covered him with kisses.
Mark 14:46And they laid their hands on him, and took him. And they laid hands on him, and took him. And they laid their hands upon him and seized him.
Mark 14:47And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. But a certain one of them that stood by drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear. But a certain one of those who stood by, having drawn his sword, struck the bondman of the high priest, and took off his ear.
Mark 14:48And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves to seize me? And Jesus answering said to them, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and sticks to take me?
Mark 14:49I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled. I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but [this is done] that the scriptures might be fulfilled. I was daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye did not seize me; but [it is] that the scriptures may be fulfilled.
Mark 14:50And they all forsook him, and fled. And they all left him, and fled. And all left him and fled.
Mark 14:51And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: And a certain young man followed with him, having a linen cloth cast about him, over [his] naked [body]: and they lay hold on him; And a certain young man followed him with a linen cloth cast about his naked [body]; and [the young men] seize him;
Mark 14:52And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. but he left the linen cloth, and fled naked. but he, leaving the linen cloth behind [him], fled from them naked.
Mark 14:53And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and there come together with him all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. And they led away Jesus to the high priest. And there come together to him all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
Mark 14:54And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. And Peter had followed him afar off, even within, into the court of the high priest; and he was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light [of the fire]. And Peter followed him at a distance, till [he was] within the court of the high priest's palace; and he was sitting with the officers and warming himself in the light [of the fire].
Mark 14:55And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found it not. And the chief priests and the whole sanhedrim sought testimony against Jesus to cause him to be put to death, and did not find [any].
Mark 14:56For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. For many bare false witness against him, and their witness agreed not together. For many bore false witness against him, and their testimony did not agree.
Mark 14:57And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, And there stood up certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, And certain persons rose up and bore false witness against him, saying,
Mark 14:58We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands. *We* heard him saying, *I* will destroy this temple which is made with hands, and in the course of three days I will build another not made with hands.
Mark 14:59But neither so did their witness agree together. And not even so did their witness agree together. And neither thus did their testimony agree.
Mark 14:60And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? And the high priest, rising up before them all, asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? What do these testify against thee?
Mark 14:61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? But he was silent, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and says to him, *Thou* art the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Mark 14:62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. And Jesus said, *I* am, and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
Mark 14:63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? And the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses? And the high priest, having rent his clothes, says, What need have we any more of witnesses?
Mark 14:64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be worthy of death. Ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
Mark 14:65And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands. And some began to spit upon him, and cover up his face, and buffet him, and say to him, Prophesy; and the officers struck him with the palms of their hands.
Mark 14:66And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest: And as Peter was beneath in the court, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest; And Peter being below in the palace-court, there comes one of the maids of the high priest,
Mark 14:67And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and saith, Thou also wast with the Nazarene, [even] Jesus. and seeing Peter warming himself, having looked at him, says, And *thou* wast with the Nazarene, Jesus.
Mark 14:68But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. But he denied, saying, I neither know, nor understand what thou sayest: and he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. But he denied, saying, I know not nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out into the vestibule; and a cock crew.
Mark 14:69And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. And the maid saw him, and began again to say to them that stood by, This is [one] of them. And the maid, seeing him, again began to say to those that stood by, This is [one] of them.
Mark 14:70And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. But he again denied it. And after a little while again they that stood by said to Peter, of a truth thou art [one] of them; for thou art a Galilaean. And he again denied. And again, after a little, those that stood by said to Peter, Truly thou art [one] of them, for also thou art a Galilean.
