| James 4:1 | From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? | What is the cause of wars and fighting among you? is it not in your desires which are at war in your bodies? | Whence [come] wars and whence fightings among you? [Is it] not thence, from your pleasures, which war in your members? |
| James 4:2 | Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. | You are burning with desire, and have not your desire, so you put men to death; you are full of envy, and you are not able to get your desire, so you are fighting and making war; you have not your desire, because you do not make request for it. | Ye lust and have not: ye kill and are full of envy, and cannot obtain; ye fight and war; ye have not because ye ask not. |

| James 4:14 | Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. | When you are not certain what will take place tomorrow. What is your life?
