Luke 12:1In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. At that time, when thousands of the people had come together, in such numbers that they were crushing one another, he said first to his disciples, Have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees, which is deceit. In the mean time, when there was gathered an innumerable multitude of people, so that they trod one upon another, he began to say to his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Luke 12:2For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. But nothing is covered up, which will not come to light, or secret, which will not be made clear. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Luke 12:3Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. So, whatever you have said in the dark, will come to men's hearing in the light, and what you have said secretly inside the house, will be made public from the house-tops.Therefore, whatever ye have spoken in darkness, shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets, shall be proclaimed upon the house-tops.
Luke 12:4And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. And I say to you, my friends, Have no fear of those who may put the body to death, and are able to do no more than that. And I say to you, my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Luke 12:5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. But I will make clear to you of whom you are to be in fear: of him who after death has power to send you to hell; yes, truly I say, Have fear of him.But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, Fear him.
Luke 12:6Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? Are not five sparrows given in exchange for two farthings? and God has every one of them in mind. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
Luke 12:7But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. But even the hairs of your head are numbered. Have no fear: you are of more value than a flock of sparrows. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12:8Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: And I say to you that to everyone who gives witness to me before men, the Son of man will give witness before the angels of God.Also I say to you, Whoever shall confess me before men, him will the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.
Luke 12:9But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. But if anyone says before men that he has no knowledge of me, I will say that I have no knowledge of him before the angels of God.But he that denieth me before men, shall be denied before the angels of God.
Luke 12:10And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. And if anyone says a word against the Son of man, he will have forgiveness: but for him who says evil words against the Holy Spirit, there will be no forgiveness. And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but to him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven.
Luke 12:11And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: And when they take you before the Synagogues and the authorities and the rulers, take no thought about what answers you will give, or what you will say:And when they bring you to the synagogues, and before magistrates, and powers, be not solicitous how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
Luke 12:12For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. For the Holy Spirit will make clear to you in that very hour what to say.For the Holy Spirit will teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
Luke 12:13And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And one of the people said to him, Master, give an order to my brother to make division of the heritage with me.And one of the company said to him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
Luke 12:14And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? But he said, Man, who made me a judge or a maker of decisions for you?And he said to him, Man, who made me a judge, or a divider over you?
Luke 12:15And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he said to them, Take care to keep yourselves free from the desire for property; for a man's life is not made up of the number of things which he has.And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luke 12:16And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he said to them, in a story, The land of a certain man of great wealth was very fertile:And he spoke a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
Luke 12:17And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said to himself, What is to be done? for I have no place in which to put all my fruit. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to deposit my fruits?
Luke 12:18And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And he said, This I will do: I will take down my store-houses and make greater ones, and there I will put all my grain and my goods. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I deposit all my fruits and my goods.
Luke 12:19And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have a great amount of goods in store, enough for a number of years; be at rest, take food and wine and be happy. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast abundance of goods laid up for many years; take thy ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Luke 12:20But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? But God said to him, You foolish one, tonight I will take your soul from you, and who then will be the owner of all the things which you have got together? But God said to him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?
Luke 12:21So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. So that is what comes to the man who gets wealth for himself, and has not wealth in the eyes of God.So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich towards God.
Luke 12:22And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. And he said to his disciples, For this reason I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about what food you will take, or for your body, how it may be clothed. And he said to his disciples, Therefore I say to you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Luke 12:23The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Is not life more than food, and the body than its clothing? The life is more than food, and the body is more than raiment.
Luke 12:24Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? Give thought to the ravens; they do not put seeds into the earth, or get together grain; they have no store-houses or buildings; and God gives them their food: of how much greater value are you than the birds!Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap: which neither have store-house, nor barn; and God feedeth them: How much more are ye better than the fowls?
Luke 12:25And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? And which of you by taking thought is able to make himself any taller? And which of you by solicitude can add to his stature one cubit?
Luke 12:26If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? If, then, you are not able to do even that which is least, why are you troubled about the rest?If ye then are not able to do that thing which is least, why are ye anxious for the rest?
Luke 12:27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Give thought to the flowers: they do no work, they make no thread; and still I say to you, Even Solomon, in all his glory, was not clothed like one of these.Consider the lilies how they grow: They toil not, they spin not; and yet I say to you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Luke 12:28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? But if God gives such clothing to the grass in the field, which today is living, and tomorrow will be burned in the oven, how much more will he give clothing to you, O men of little faith? If then God so clothe the grass, which is to-day in the field, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Luke 12:31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. But let your chief care be for his kingdom, and these other things will be given to you in addition. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

Luke 12:33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. Give what property you have in exchange for money, and give the money to the poor; make for yourselves money-bags which will not get old, wealth stored up in heaven which will be yours for ever, where thieves will not come nor worms put it to destruction.Sell what ye have, and give alms: provide yourselves bags which become not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Luke 12:38And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And if he comes in the second division of the night or in the third, and they are watching for him, happy are those servants. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
Luke 12:39And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. But be certain of this, that if the master of the house had had knowledge of the time when the thief was coming, he would have been watching, and would not have let his house be broken into. And this know, that if the master of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would watch, and not suffer his house to be broken through.
Luke 12:40Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. So be ready: for the Son of man is coming at a time when you are not looking for him.Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Luke 12:42And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? And the Lord said, Who then is the wise and responsible servant whom his lord will put in control of his family, to give them their food at the right time? And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of provisions in due season?

Luke 12:45But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; But if that servant says to himself, My lord is a long time coming; and goes about giving blows to the men-servants and the women-servants, feasting and taking overmuch wine; But if that servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the men-servants, and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken?
Luke 12:46The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. The lord of that servant will come at a time when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not ready for him, and he will have him cut in two and will give him his part in the fate of those who have no faith; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him asunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Luke 12:48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. But he who, without knowledge, did things for which punishment is given, will get only a small number of blows. The man to whom much is given, will have to give much; if much is given into his care, of him more will be requested. But he that knew not, and committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom men have committed much, from him they will ask the more.

Luke 12:57Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? And why are you, in your hearts, unable to be judges of what is right? And why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
Luke 12:58When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. For if anyone has a cause at law against you, and you are going with him before the ruler, make an attempt, on the way, to come to an agreement with him, for if you do not, he may take you before the judge and the judge will give you up to the police, and they will put you in prison. When thou goest with thy adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he draw thee before the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
