Luke 19:1And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. And he went into Jericho, and when he was going through it,And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
Luke 19:2And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. A man, named Zacchaeus, who was the chief tax-farmer, and a man of wealth,And behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, who was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
Luke 19:3And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. Made an attempt to get a view of Jesus, and was not able to do so, because of the people, for he was a small man.And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature.
Luke 19:4And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And he went quickly in front of them and got up into a tree to see him, for he was going that way.And he ran before, and climbed up upon a sycamore-tree to see him; for he was to pass that way.
Luke 19:5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. Luke 19:6And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And he came down quickly, and took him into his house with joy.And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
Luke 19:7And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And when they saw it, they were all angry, saying, He has gone into the house of a sinner.And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
Luke 19:8And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Zacchaeus, waiting before him, said to the Lord, See, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from anyone wrongly, I give him back four times as much.And Zaccheus stood, and said to the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him four-fold.
Luke 19:9And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. And Jesus said to him, Today salvation has come to this house, for even he is a son of Abraham.And Jesus said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
Luke 19:10For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. For the Son of man came to make search for those who are wandering from the way, and to be their Saviour.For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Luke 19:11And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. And while they were giving ear to these words, he made another story for them, because he was near Jerusalem, and because they were of the opinion that the kingdom of God was coming straight away.And as they heard these things, he added and spoke a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God would immediately appear.
Luke 19:12He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. Luke 19:13And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. Luke 19:14But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. Luke 19:15And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. And when he came back again, having got his kingdom, he gave orders for those servants to whom he had given the money to come to him, so that he might have an account of what business they had done.And it came to pass, that when he had returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
Luke 19:16Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And the first came before him, saying, Lord, your pound has made ten pounds.Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
Luke 19:17And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And he said to him, You have done well, O good servant: because you have done well in a small thing you will have authority over ten towns.And he said to him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
Luke 19:18And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And another came, saying, Your pound has made five pounds.And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
Luke 19:19And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. And he said, You will be ruler over five towns.And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
Luke 19:20And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: And another came, saying, Lord, here is your pound, which I put away in a cloth;And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
Luke 19:21For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. Because I was in fear of you, for you are a hard man: you take up what you have not put down, and get in grain where you have not put seed.For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up what thou layedst not down, and reapest what thou didst not sow.
Luke 19:22And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: He said to him, By the words of your mouth you will be judged, you bad servant. You had knowledge that I am a hard man, taking up what I have not put down and getting in grain where I have not put seed;And he saith to him, Out of thy own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest me to be an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow:
Luke 19:23Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? Why then did you not put my money in a bank, so that when I came I would get it back with interest?Why then gavest thou not my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required my own with interest?
Luke 19:24And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. And he said to the others who were near, Take the pound away from him, and give it to the man who has ten.And he said to them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

Luke 19:26For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. And I say to you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.For I say to you, That to every one who hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even what he hath shall be taken away from him.
Luke 19:27But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. Luke 19:30Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. Saying, Go into the little town in front of you, and on going in you will see a young ass fixed with a cord, on which no man has ever been seated; let him loose and take him.Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in which at your entering ye will find a colt tied, on which yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
Luke 19:31And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. And if anyone says to you, Why are you taking him? say, The Lord has need of him.And if any man shall ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say to him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
Luke 19:32And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. And those whom he sent went away, and it was as he said.And they that were sent, went and found even as he had said to them.
Luke 19:33And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? And when they were getting the young ass, the owners of it said to them, Why are you taking the young ass?And as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, Why loose ye the colt?
Luke 19:34And they said, The Lord hath need of him. And they said, The Lord has need of him.And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
Luke 19:35And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And they took him to Jesus, and they put their clothing on the ass, and Jesus got on to him.And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus upon him.
Luke 19:36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And while he went on his way they put their clothing down on the road in front of him.And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
Luke 19:37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; And when he came near the foot of the Mountain of Olives, all the disciples with loud voices gave praise to God with joy, because of all the great works which they had seen;And when he had come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice, for all the mighty works that they had seen.
Luke 19:38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. Luke 19:40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. And he said in answer, I say to you, if these men keep quiet, the very stones will be crying out.And he answered and said to them, I tell you, that if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Luke 19:41And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, And when he got near and saw the town, he was overcome with weeping for it,And when he had come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
Luke 19:42Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. Saying, If you, even you, had knowledge today, of the things which give peace! but you are not able to see them.Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong to thy peace! but now they are hid from thy eyes.
Luke 19:43For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, For the time will come when your attackers will put a wall round you, and come all round you and keep you in on every side,For the days shall come upon thee, that thy enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and encompass thee, and keep thee in on every side,
Luke 19:44And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. And will make you level with the earth, and your children with you; and there will not be one stone resting on another in you, because you did not see that it was your day of mercy.And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee: and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another: because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Luke 19:46Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. Saying to them, It has been said, My house is to be a house of prayer, but you have made it a hole of thieves.Saying to them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Luke 19:47And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, And every day he was teaching in the Temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the rulers of the people were attempting to put him to death;And he taught daily in the temple. Luke 19:48And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him. But they were not able to do anything, because the people all kept near him, being greatly interested in his words.And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
