| John 16:1 | These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. | I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt. | "These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn't be caused to stumble. |
| John 16:2 | They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. | They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure. | They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God. |

| John 16:6 | But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. | But your hearts are full of sorrow because I have said these things. | But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart. |
| John 16:7 | Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. | But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don't go away, the Counselor won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. |
