Hebrews 13:1 | Let brotherly love continue. | Let the charity of the brotherhood abide in you. | Let brotherly love abide. |
Hebrews 13:2 | Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. | And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels. | Be not forgetful of hospitality; for by it some have unawares entertained angels. |
Hebrews 13:3 | Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. | Remember them that are in bands, as if you were bound with them; and them that labour, as being yourselves also in the body. | Remember prisoners, as bound with [them]; those that are evil-treated, as being yourselves also in [the] body. |
Hebrews 13:4 | Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. | Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge. | [Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge. |
Hebrews 13:5 | Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. | Let your manners be without covetousness, contented with such things as you have; for he hath said: I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee. | [Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee. |
Hebrews 13:6 | So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. | So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man shall do to me. | So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me? |
Hebrews 13:7 | Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. | Remember your prelates who have spoken the word of God to you; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation, | Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith. |
Hebrews 13:8 | Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. | Jesus Christ, yesterday, and to day; and the same for ever. | Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to-day, and to the ages [to come]. |
Hebrews 13:9 | Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. | Be not led away with various and strange doctrines. For it is best that the heart be established with grace, not with meats; which have not profited those that walk in them. | Be not carried away with various and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace, not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by [them]. |
Hebrews 13:10 | We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. | We have an altar, whereof they have no power to eat who serve the tabernacle. | We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle; |
Hebrews 13:11 | For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. | For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the holies by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. | for of those beasts whose blood is carried [as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy of] holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp. |
Hebrews 13:12 | Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. | Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate. | Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate: |
Hebrews 13:13 | Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. | Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach. | therefore let us go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach: |
Hebrews 13:14 | For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. | For we have not here a lasting city, but we seek one that is to come. | for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one. |
Hebrews 13:15 | By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. | By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise always to God, that is to say, the fruit of lips confessing to his name. | By him therefore let us offer [the] sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, [the] fruit of [the] lips confessing his name. |
Hebrews 13:16 | But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. | And do not forget to do good, and to impart; for by such sacrifices God's favour is obtained. | But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. |
Hebrews 13:17 | Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. | Obey your prelates, and be subject to them. For they watch as being to render an account of your souls; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief. For this is not expedient for you. | Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you. |
Hebrews 13:18 | Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. | Pray for us. For we trust we have a good conscience, being willing to behave ourselves well in all things. | Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly. |
Hebrews 13:19 | But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. | And I beseech you the more to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. | But I much more beseech [you] to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you. |
