John 15:1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father's commandments, and do abide in his love."I am the Vine the True Vine, and my Father is the vine-dresser.
John 15:2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled.Every branch in me if it bears no fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.Already you are cleansed through the teaching which I have given you.
John 15:4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.Continue in me, and let me continue in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself that is, if it does not continue in the vine so neither can you if you do not continue in me.
John 15:5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you.I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who continues in me and in whom I continue bears abundant fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. I will not now call you servants: for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth. But I have called you friends: because all things whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you.If any one does not continue in me, he is like the unfruitful branch which is at once thrown away and then withers up. Such branches they gather up and throw into the fire and they are burned.
John 15:7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."If you continue in me and my sayings continue in you, ask what you will and it shall be done for you.
John 15:8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. These things I command you, that you love one another.By this is God glorified by your bearing abundant fruit and thus being true disciples of mine.
John 15:9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you.As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you: continue in my love.
John 15:10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.If you obey my commands, you will continue in my love, as I have obeyed my Father's commands and continue in His love.
John 15:11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also."These things I have spoken to you in order that I may have joy in you, and that your joy may become perfect.
John 15:12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. But all these things they will do to you for my name's sake: because they know not him who sent me.This is my commandment to you, to love one another as I have loved you.
John 15:13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. If I had not come, and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.No one has greater love than this a man laying down his life for his friends.
John 15:14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. You are my friends, if you do what I command you.
John 15:15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father. No longer do I call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all that I have heard from the Father I have made known to you.
John 15:16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: They hated me without cause. It is not you who chose me, but it is I who chose you and appointed you that you might go and be fruitful and that your fruit might remain; so that whatever petition you present to the Father in my name He may give you.
John 15:17These things I command you, that ye love one another. But when the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me."Thus I command you to love one another.
John 15:18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. And you shall give testimony, because you are with me from the beginning. If the world hates you, remember that it has first had me as the fixed object of its hatred.
John 15:19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own property. But because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world for that reason the world hates you.
John 15:20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. Bear in mind what I said to you, `A servant is not superior to his master.' If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
John 15:21But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. But they will inflict all this suffering upon you on account of your bearing my name because they do not know Him who sent me.
John 15:22If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have had no sin; but as the case stands they are without excuse for their sin.
John 15:23He that hateth me hateth my Father also. He who hates me hates my Father also.
John 15:24If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. If I had not done among them, as I have, such miracles as no one else ever did, they would have had no sin; but they have in fact seen and also hated both me and my Father.
John 15:25But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. But this has been so, in order that the saying may be fulfilled which stands written in their Law, `They have hated me without any reason.'
John 15:26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: "When the Advocate is come whom I will send to you from the Father's presence the Spirit of Truth who comes forth from the Father's presence He will be a witness concerning me.
John 15:27And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. And you also are witnesses, because you have been with me from the first.
