| John 15:1 | I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. | If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father's commandments, and do abide in his love. | "I am the Vine the True Vine, and my Father is the vine-dresser. |
| John 15:2 | Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. | These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled. | Every branch in me if it bears no fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. |
| John 15:3 | Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. | This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. | Already you are cleansed through the teaching which I have given you. |
| John 15:4 | Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. | Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. | Continue in me, and let me continue in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself that is, if it does not continue in the vine so neither can you if you do not continue in me. |
