Hebrews 11:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Now faith is the substance of things to be hoped for, the evidence of things that appear not.And faith is of things hoped for a confidence, of matters not seen a conviction,
Hebrews 11:2For by it the elders obtained a good report. For by this the ancients obtained a testimony.for in this were the elders testified of;
Hebrews 11:3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God; that from invisible things visible things might be made.by faith we understand the ages to have been prepared by a saying of God, in regard to the things seen not having come out of things appearing;
Hebrews 11:4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Abel offered to God a sacrifice exceeding that of Cain, by which he obtained a testimony that he was just, God giving testimony to his gifts; and by it he being dead yet speaketh.by faith a better sacrifice did Abel offer to God than Cain, through which he was testified to be righteous, God testifying of his gifts, and through it, he being dead, doth yet speak.
Hebrews 11:5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. By faith Henoch was translated, that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had testimony that he pleased God.By faith Enoch was translated not to see death, and was not found, because God did translate him; for before his translation he had been testified to that he had pleased God well,
Hebrews 11:6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and is a rewarder to them that seek him.and apart from faith it is impossible to please well, for it behoveth him who is coming to God to believe that He is, and to those seeking Him He becometh a rewarder.
Hebrews 11:7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Noe, having received an answer concerning those things which as yet were not seen, moved with fear, framed the ark for the saving of his house, by the which he condemned the world; and was instituted heir of the justice which is by faith.By faith Noah, having been divinely warned concerning the things not yet seen, having feared, did prepare an ark to the salvation of his house, through which he did condemn the world, and of the righteousness according to faith he became heir.
Hebrews 11:8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he that is called Abraham, obeyed to go out into a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.By faith Abraham, being called, did obey, to go forth to the place that he was about to receive for an inheritance, and he went forth, not knowing whither he doth go;
Hebrews 11:9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: By faith he abode in the land, dwelling in cottages, with Isaac and Jacob, the co-heirs of the same promise.by faith he did sojourn in the land of the promise as a strange country, in tabernacles having dwelt with Isaac and Jacob, fellow-heirs of the same promise,
Hebrews 11:10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. For he looked for a city that hath foundations; whose builder and maker is God.for he was looking for the city having the foundations, whose artificer and constructor [is] God.
Hebrews 11:11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. By faith also Sara herself, being barren, received strength to conceive seed, even past the time of age; because she believed that he was faithful who had promised,By faith also Sarah herself did receive power to conceive seed, and she bare after the time of life, seeing she did judge Him faithful who did promise;
Hebrews 11:12Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. For which cause there sprung even from one (and him as good as dead) as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.wherefore, also from one were begotten and that of one who had become dead as the stars of the heaven in multitude, and as sand that [is] by the sea-shore the innumerable.
Hebrews 11:13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. All these died according to faith, not having received the promises, but beholding them afar off, and saluting them, and confessing that they are pilgrims and strangers on the earth.In faith died all these, not having received the promises, but from afar having seen them, and having been persuaded, and having saluted [them], and having confessed that strangers and sojourners they are upon the earth,
Hebrews 11:14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. For they that say these things, do signify that they seek a country. 15 And truly if they had been mindful of that from whence they came out, they had doubtless time to return.for those saying such things make manifest that they seek a country;
Hebrews 11:15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better, that is to say, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.and if, indeed, they had been mindful of that from which they came forth, they might have had an opportunity to return,
Hebrews 11:16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered Isaac: and he that had received the promises, offered up his only begotten son;but now they long for a better, that is, an heavenly, wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for He did prepare for them a city.
Hebrews 11:17By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, (To whom it was said: In Isaac shall thy seed be called.)By faith Abraham hath offered up Isaac, being tried, and the only begotten he did offer up who did receive the promises,
Hebrews 11:18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Whereupon also he received him for a parable.of whom it was said `In Isaac shall a seed be called to thee;`
Hebrews 11:19Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. By faith also of things to come, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau.reckoning that even out of the dead God is able to raise up, whence also in a figure he did receive [him].

By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the going out of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.by faith Jacob dying each of the sons of Joseph did bless, and did bow down upon the top of his staff;

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents; because they saw he was a comely babe, and they feared not the king's edict.by faith, Joseph dying, concerning the outgoing of the sons of Israel did make mention, and concerning his bones did give command.
Hebrews 11:23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. By faith Moses, when he was grown up, denied himself to be the son of Pharao's daughter;By faith Moses, having been born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw the child comely, and were not afraid of the decree of the king;
Hebrews 11:24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Rather choosing to be afflicted with the people of God, than to have the pleasure of sin for a time,by faith Moses, having become great, did refuse to be called a son of the daughter of Pharaoh,
Hebrews 11:25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasure of the Egyptians. For he looked unto the reward.having chosen rather to be afflicted with the people of God, than to have sin`s pleasure for a season,
Hebrews 11:26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the fierceness of the king: for he endured as seeing him that is invisible.greater wealth having reckoned the reproach of the Christ than the treasures in Egypt, for he did look to the recompense of reward;
Hebrews 11:27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. By faith he celebrated the pasch, and the shedding of the blood; that he, who destroyed the firstborn, might not touch them.by faith he left Egypt behind, not having been afraid of the wrath of the king, for, as seeing the Invisible One he endured;

Hebrews 11:31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. And what shall I yet say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, Barac, Samson, Jephthe, David, Samuel, and the prophets:by faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with those who disbelieved, having received the spies with peace.
Hebrews 11:32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who by faith conquered kingdoms, wrought justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,And what shall I yet say? for the time will fail me recounting about Gideon, Barak also, and Samson, and Jephthah, David also, and Samuel, and the prophets,
Hebrews 11:33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered strength from weakness, became valiant in battle, put to flight the armies of foreigners:who through faith did subdue kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped mouths of lions,
Hebrews 11:34Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. But others were racked, not accepting deliverance, that they might find a better resurrection.quenched the power of fire, escaped the mouth of the sword, were made powerful out of infirmities, became strong in battle, caused to give way camps of the aliens.
Hebrews 11:35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of mockeries and stripes, moreover also of bands and prisons.Women received by a rising again their dead, and others were tortured, not accepting the redemption, that a better rising again they might receive,
Hebrews 11:36And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were cut asunder, they were tempted, they were put to death by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being in want, distressed, afflicted:and others of mockings and scourgings did receive trial, and yet of bonds and imprisonment;

Hebrews 11:38(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these being approved by the testimony of faith, received not the promise;of whom the world was not worthy; in deserts wandering, and [in] mountains, and [in] caves, and [in] the holes of the earth;
Hebrews 11:39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God providing some better thing for us, that they should not be perfected without us.and these all, having been testified to through the faith, did not receive the promise,
