| Hebrews 12:1 | Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, | Therefore, surrounded as we are by such a vast cloud of witnesses, let us fling aside every encumbrance and the sin that so readily entangles our feet. And let us run with patient endurance the race that lies before us, | Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, |
| Hebrews 12:2 | Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. | simply fixing our gaze upon Jesus, our Prince Leader in the faith, who will also award us the prize. | Hebrews 12:8 | But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. | And if you are left without discipline, of which every true son has had a share, that shows that you are bastards, and not true sons. | But if you are without discipline, whereof all have been made partakers, then are you illegitimate, and not sons. |
