| Matthew 19:1 | And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; | When Jesus had finished these discourses, He removed from Galilee and came into that part of Judaea which lay beyond the Jordan. | And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these words, he removed from Galilee, and did come to the borders of Judea, beyond the Jordan, |

| Matthew 19:3 | The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? | Then came some of the Pharisees to Him to put Him to the proof by the question, "Has a man a right to divorce his wife whenever he chooses?" | And the Pharisees came near to him, tempting him, and saying to him, `Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?` |

| Matthew 19:5 | And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? | and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall be one'? | and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall be the two for one flesh? |
| Matthew 19:6 | Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. | Thus they are no longer two, but `one'! | Matthew 19:8 | He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. | "Moses," He replied, "in consideration of the hardness of your nature permitted you to put away your wives, but it has not been so from the beginning. | He saith to them `Moses for your stiffness of heart did suffer you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it hath not been so. |
| Matthew 19:9 | And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. | And I tell you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except her unfaithfulness, and marries another woman, commits adultery." | `And I say to you, that, whoever may put away his wife, if not for whoredom, and may marry another, doth commit adultery; and he who did marry her that hath been put away, doth commit adultery.` |

He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. | There are men who from their birth have been disabled from marriage, others who have been so disabled by men, and others who have disabled themselves for the sake of the Kingdom of the Heavens. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it." | for there are eunuchs who from the mother`s womb were so born; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who kept themselves eunuchs because of the reign of the heavens: he who is able to receive [it] let him receive.` |

| Matthew 19:17 | And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. | "Why do you ask me," He replied, "about what is good? There is only One who is truly good. But if you desire to enter into Life, keep the Commandments." | And he said to him, `Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good except One God; but if thou dost will to enter into the life, keep the commands.` |

| Matthew 19:24 | And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. | Yes, I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God." | and again I say to you, it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to go, than for a rich man to enter into the reign of God.` |
