Luke 21:1And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.Looking up He saw the people throwing their gifts into the Treasury the rich people.
Luke 21:2And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. He saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta.He also saw a poor widow dropping in two farthings,
Luke 21:3And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,and He said, "In truth I tell you that this widow, so poor, has thrown in more than any of them.
Luke 21:4For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her lack, put in all that she had to live on."For from what they could well spare they have all of them contributed to the offerings, but she in her need has thrown in all she had to live on."
Luke 21:5And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,When some were remarking about the Temple, how it was embellished with beautiful stones and dedicated gifts, He said,
Luke 21:6As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. "As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.""As to these things which you now admire, the time is coming when there will not be one stone left here upon another which will not be pulled down."
Luke 21:7And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? They asked him, "Teacher, when therefore will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?""Rabbi, when will this be?" they asked Him, "and what will be the token given when these things are about to take place?"
Luke 21:8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. He said, "Watch out that you don't get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I AM,' and, 'The time is at hand.' Therefore don't follow them."See to it," He replied, "that you are not misled; for many will come assuming my name and professing, `I am He,' or saying, `The time is close at hand.' Do not go and follow them.
Luke 21:9But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. When you hear of wars and disturbances, don't be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won't come immediately."But when you hear of wars and turmoils, be not afraid; for these things must happen first, but the end does not come immediately."
Luke 21:10Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.Then He said to them, "Nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
Luke 21:11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.And there will be great earthquakes, and in places famines and pestilence; and there will be terrible sights and wonderful tokens from Heaven.
Luke 21:12But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake."But before all these things happen they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you up to synagogues and to prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my sake.
Luke 21:13And it shall turn to you for a testimony. It will turn out as a testimony to you.In the end all this will be evidence of your fidelity.
Luke 21:14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,"Make up your minds, however, not to prepare a defence beforehand,
Luke 21:15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to withstand or reply to.
Luke 21:16And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. But you will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. Some of you will they cause to be put to death.You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, friends; and some of you they will put to death.
Luke 21:17And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. You will be hated by all men for my name's sake.You will be the objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name;
Luke 21:18But there shall not an hair of your head perish. Not a hair of your head will perish.and yet not a hair of your heads shall perish.
Luke 21:19In your patience possess ye your souls. By your endurance you will win your souls.By your patient endurance you will purchase your lives.
Luke 21:20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand."But when you see Jerusalem with armies encamping round her on every side, then be certain that her overthrow is close at hand.
Luke 21:21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let them who are in the midst of her depart. Don't let those who are in the country enter therein.Then let those who shall be in Judaea escape to the hills; let those who are in the city leave it, and those who are in the country not enter in.
Luke 21:22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.For those are the days of vengeance and of fulfilling all that is written.
Luke 21:23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people."Alas for the women who at that time are with child or who have infants; for there will be great distress in the land, and anger towards this People.
Luke 21:24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.They will fall by the sword, or be carried off into slavery among all the Gentiles. And Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles, till the appointed times of the Gentiles have expired.
Luke 21:25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;"There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on earth anguish among the nations in their bewilderment at the roaring of the sea and its billows;
Luke 21:26Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.while men's hearts are fainting for fear, and for anxious expectation of what is coming on the world. For the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.
Luke 21:27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.And then will they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory.
Luke 21:28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near."But when all this is beginning to take place, grieve no longer. Lift up your heads, because your deliverance is drawing near."
Luke 21:29And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; He told them a parable. "See the fig tree, and all the trees.And He spoke a parable to them. "See," He said, "the fig-tree and all the trees.
Luke 21:30When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.As soon as they have shot out their leaves, you know at a glance that summer is now near.
Luke 21:31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.So also, when you see these things happening, you may be sure that the Kingdom of God is near.
Luke 21:32Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Most assuredly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.
Luke 21:33Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.
Luke 21:34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. "So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly."But take heed to yourselves, lest your souls be weighed down with self-indulgence and drunkenness or the anxieties of this life, and that day come upon you, suddenly, like a falling trap;
Luke 21:35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.for it will come on all dwellers on the face of the whole earth.
Luke 21:36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Therefore be watchful all the time, asking that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."But beware of slumbering; and every moment pray that you may be fully strengthened to escape from all these coming evils, and to take your stand in the presence of the Son of Man."
Luke 21:37And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple, and every night he went out, and spent the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.His habit at this time was to teach in the Temple by day, but to go out and spend the night on the Mount called the Oliveyard.
Luke 21:38And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him. All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.And all the people came to Him in the Temple, early in the morning, to listen to Him.
