John 6:1After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. After these things Jesus went away beyond the sea of Galilee (of Tiberias),After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee that is, the sea of Tiberias.
John 6:2And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. and there was following him a great multitude, because they were seeing his signs that he was doing on the ailing; And a great number of people went after him because they saw the signs which he did on those who were ill.
John 6:3And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. and Jesus went up to the mount, and he was there sitting with his disciples,Then Jesus went up the mountain and was seated there with his disciples.
John 6:4And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. and the passover was nigh, the feast of the Jews. Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.
John 6:5When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? Jesus then having lifted up [his] eyes and having seen that a great multitude doth come to him, saith unto Philip, `Whence shall we buy loaves, that these may eat?`Lifting up his eyes, Jesus saw a great number of people coming to where he was, and he said to Philip, Where may we get bread for all these people?
John 6:6And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. and this he said, trying him, for he himself had known what he was about to do.This he said, testing him: for he had no doubt what he himself would do.
John 6:7Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. Philip answered him, `Two hundred denaries` worth of loaves are not sufficient to them, that each of them may receive some little;`Philip made answer, Bread to the value of two hundred pence would not be enough even to give everyone a little.
John 6:8One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, one of his disciples Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter saith to him,One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to Jesus,
John 6:9There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? `There is one little lad here who hath five barley loaves, and two fishes, but these what are they to so many?`There is a boy here with five barley cakes and two fishes: but what is that among such a number?
John 6:10And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus said, `Make the men to sit down;` and there was much grass in the place, the men then sat down, in number, as it were, five thousand,Jesus said, Let the people be seated. Now there was much grass in that place. And those seated on the grass were about five thousand.
John 6:11And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. and Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those reclining, in like manner, also of the little fishes as much as they wished. Then Jesus took the cakes and having given praise to God, he gave them to the people who were seated, and the fishes in the same way, as much as they had need of.
John 6:12When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. And when they were filled, he saith to his disciples, `Gather together the broken pieces that are over, that nothing may be lost;`And when they had had enough, Jesus said to his disciples, Take up the broken bits which are over, so that nothing may be wasted.
John 6:13Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. they gathered together, therefore, and filled twelve hand-baskets with broken pieces, from the five barley loaves that were over to those having eaten. So they took them up: twelve baskets full of broken bits of the five cakes which were over after the people had had enough.
John 6:14Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. The men, then, having seen the sign that Jesus did, said `This is truly the Prophet, who is coming to the world;`And when the people saw the sign which he had done, they said, Truly, this is the prophet who is to come into the world.
John 6:15When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. Jesus, therefore, having known that they are about to come, and to take him by force that they may make him king, retired again to the mountain himself alone. Now when Jesus saw that the people were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, he went away again up the mountain by himself.
John 6:16And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, And when evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,When evening came the disciples went down to the sea;
John 6:17And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. and having entered into the boat, they were going over the sea to Capernaum, and darkness had already come, and Jesus had not come unto them,And they took a boat and went across the sea in the direction of Capernaum. By then it was dark and still Jesus had not come to them.
John 6:18And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. the sea also a great wind blowing was being raised,The sea was getting rough because of a strong wind which was blowing.
John 6:19So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. having pushed onwards, therefore, about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and coming nigh to the boat, and they were afraid; After they had gone three or four miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near to the boat; and they had great fear.
John 6:20But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.and he saith to them, `I am [he], be not afraid;`But he said to them, It is I, have no fear.
John 6:21Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. they were willing then to receive him into the boat, and immediately the boat came unto the land to which they were going. Then they readily took him into the boat: and straight away the boat was at the land to which they were going.
John 6:22The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone; On the morrow, the multitude that was standing on the other side of the sea, having seen that there was no other little boat there except one that into which his disciples entered and that Jesus went not in with his disciples into the little boat, but his disciples went away alone,The day after, the people who were on the other side of the sea saw that only one small boat had been there, that Jesus had not gone in that boat with the disciples, but that the disciples had gone away by themselves.
John 6:23(Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:) (and other little boats came from Tiberias, nigh the place where they did eat the bread, the Lord having given thanks),Some other boats, however, came from Tiberias near to the place where they had taken the bread after the Lord had given praise.
John 6:24When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. when therefore the multitude saw that Jesus is not there, nor his disciples, they also themselves did enter into the boats, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus; So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, or his disciples, they got into those boats and went over to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
John 6:25And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? and having found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, `Rabbi, when hast thou come hither?`And when they came across him on the other side of the sea they said, Rabbi, when did you come here?
John 6:26Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Jesus answered them and said, `Verily, verily, I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were satisfied;Jesus, answering them, said, Truly I say to you, You come after me, not because you saw signs, but because you were given the bread and had enough.
John 6:27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. work not for the food that is perishing, but for the food that is remaining to life age-during, which the Son of Man will give to you, for him did the Father seal [even] God.`Let your work not be for the food which comes to an end, but for the food which goes on for eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you, for on him has God the Father put his mark.

John 6:29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Jesus answered and said to them, `This is the work of God, that ye may believe in him whom He did send.`Jesus, answering, said to them, This is to do the work of God: to have faith in him whom God has sent.
John 6:30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? They said therefore to him, `What sign, then, dost thou, that we may see and may believe thee? what dost thou work?So they said, What sign do you give us, so that we may see and have faith in you? What do you do?

John 6:32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. Jesus, therefore, said to them, `Verily, verily, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread out of the heaven; but my Father doth give you the true bread out of the heaven;Jesus then said to them, Truly I say to you, What Moses gave you was not the bread from heaven; it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
John 6:33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. for the bread of God is that which is coming down out of the heaven, and giving life to the world.`The bread of God is the bread which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.

John 6:35And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. And Jesus said to them, `I am the bread of the life; he who is coming unto me may not hunger, and he who is believing in me may not thirst at any time; And this was the answer of Jesus: I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be in need of food, and he who has faith in me will never be in need of drink.
John 6:36But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. but I said to you, that ye also have seen me, and ye believe not;But it is as I said to you: you have seen me, and still you have no faith.
John 6:37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. all that the Father doth give to me will come unto me; and him who is coming unto me, I may in no wise cast without,Whatever the Father gives to me will come to me; and I will not send away anyone who comes to me.
John 6:38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. because I have come down out of the heaven, not that I may do my will, but the will of Him who sent me.For I have come down from heaven, not to do my pleasure, but the pleasure of him who sent me.
John 6:39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. `And this is the will of the Father who sent me, that all that He hath given to me I may not lose of it, but may raise it up in the last day;And this is the pleasure of him who sent me, that I am not to let out of my hands anything which he has given me, but I am to give it new life on the last day.
John 6:40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. and this is the will of Him who sent me, that every one who is beholding the Son, and is believing in him, may have life age-during, and I will raise him up in the last day.`This, I say, is my Father's pleasure, that everyone who sees the Son and has faith in him may have eternal life: and I will take him up on the last day.
John 6:41The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. The Jews, therefore, were murmuring at him, because he said, `I am the bread that came down out of the heaven;`Now the Jews said bitter things about Jesus because of his words, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
John 6:42And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? and they said, `Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we have known? how then saith this one Out of the heaven I have come down?`And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we have seen? How is it then that he now says, I have come down from heaven?

John 6:45It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. it is having been written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God; every one therefore who heard from the Father, and learned, cometh to me;The writings of the prophets say, And they will all have teaching from God. Everyone whose ears have been open to the teaching of the Father comes to me.
John 6:46Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. not that any one hath seen the Father, except he who is from God, he hath seen the Father. Not that anyone has ever seen the Father; only he who is from God, he has seen the Father.

John 6:52The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? The Jews, therefore, were striving with one another, saying, `How is this one able to give us [his] flesh to eat?`Then the Jews had an angry discussion among themselves, saying, How is it possible for this man to give us his flesh for food?
John 6:53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Jesus, therefore, said to them, `Verily, verily, I say to you, If ye may not eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and may not drink his blood, ye have no life in yourselves; Then Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, If you do not take the flesh of the Son of man for food, and if you do not take his blood for drink, you have no life in you.
John 6:54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. he who is eating my flesh, and is drinking my blood, hath life age-during, and I will raise him up in the last day;He who takes my flesh for food and my blood for drink has eternal life: and I will take him up from the dead at the last day.

John 6:56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. he who is eating my flesh, and is drinking my blood, doth remain in me, and I in him.He who takes my flesh for food and my blood for drink is in me and I in him.
John 6:57As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. `According as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, he also who is eating me, even that one shall live because of me;As the living Father has sent me, and I have life because of the Father, even so he who takes me for his food will have life because of me.
John 6:58This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. this is the bread that came down out of the heaven; not as your fathers did eat the manna, and died; he who is eating this bread shall live to the age.`This is the bread which has come down from heaven. It is not like the food which your fathers had: they took of the manna, and are dead; but he who takes this bread for food will have life for ever.

And Jesus having known in himself that his disciples are murmuring about this, said to them, `Doth this stumble you? When Jesus became conscious that his disciples were protesting about what he said, he said to them, Does this give you trouble?
John 6:62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? if then ye may behold the Son of Man going up where he was before? What then will you say if you see the Son of man going up to where he was before?
John 6:63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. the spirit it is that is giving life; the flesh doth not profit anything; the sayings that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life; The spirit is the life giver; the flesh is of no value: the words which I have said to you are spirit and they are life.
John 6:64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. but there are certain of you who do not believe;` for Jesus had known from the beginning who they are who are not believing, and who is he who will deliver him up,But still some of you have no faith. John 6:69And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. and we have believed, and we have known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.`And we have faith and are certain that you are the Holy One of God.
John 6:70Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? Jesus answered them, `Did not I choose you the twelve? and of you one is a devil. Then Jesus said, Did I not make a selection of you, the twelve, and one of you is a son of the Evil One?
John 6:71He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. And he spake of Judas, Simon`s [son], Iscariot, for he was about to deliver him up, being one of the twelve. He was talking of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. It was he who was to be false to Jesus one of the twelve.
