Matthew 7:1Judge not, that ye be not judged. `Judge not, that ye may not be judged,Be not judges of others, and you will not be judged.
Matthew 7:2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. for in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you.For as you have been judging, so you will be judged, and with your measure will it be measured to you.
Matthew 7:3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? `And why dost thou behold the mote that [is] in thy brother`s eye, and the beam that [is] in thine own eye dost not consider?And why do you take note of the grain of dust in your brother's eye, but take no note of the bit of wood which is in your eye?
Matthew 7:4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? or, how wilt thou say to thy brother, Suffer I may cast out the mote from thine eye, and lo, the beam [is] in thine own eye?Or how will you say to your brother, Let me take out the grain of dust from your eye, when you yourself have a bit of wood in your eye?
Matthew 7:5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then thou shalt see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother`s eye.You false one, first take out the bit of wood from your eye, then will you see clearly to take out the grain of dust from your brother's eye.
Matthew 7:6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. `Ye may not give that which is [holy] to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, that they may not trample them among their feet, and having turned may rend you.Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, or put your jewels before pigs, for fear that they will be crushed under foot by the pigs whose attack will then be made against you.
Matthew 7:7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: `Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you;Make a request, and it will be answered; what you are searching for you will get; give the sign, and the door will be open to you:
Matthew 7:8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. for every one who is asking doth receive, and he who is seeking doth find, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened.Because to everyone who makes a request, it will be given; and he who is searching will get his desire, and to him who gives the sign, the door will be open.
Matthew 7:9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? `Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask a loaf a stone will he present to him?Or which of you, if his son makes a request for bread, will give him a stone?
Matthew 7:10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? and if a fish he may ask a serpent will he present to him?Or if he makes a request for a fish, will give him a snake?
Matthew 7:11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? if, therefore, ye being evil, have known good gifts to give to your children, how much more shall your Father who [is] in the heavens give good things to those asking him?If you, then, being evil, are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who make requests to him?
Matthew 7:12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. `All things, therefore, whatever ye may will that men may be doing to you, so also do to them, for this is the law and the prophets.All those things, then, which you would have men do to you, even so do you to them: because this is the law and the prophets.
Matthew 7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: `Go ye in through the strait gate, because wide [is] the gate, and broad the way that is leading to the destruction, and many are those going in through it;Go in by the narrow door; for wide is the door and open is the way which goes to destruction, and great numbers go in by it.
Matthew 7:14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. how strait [is] the gate, and compressed the way that is leading to the life, and few are those finding it!For narrow is the door and hard the road to life, and only a small number make discovery of it.
Matthew 7:15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. `But, take heed of the false prophets, who come unto you in sheep`s clothing, and inwardly are ravening wolves.Be on the watch for false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inside they are cruel wolves.
Matthew 7:16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? From their fruits ye shall know them; do [men] gather from thorns grapes? or from thistles figs?By their fruits you will get knowledge of them. Do men get grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?
Matthew 7:17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. so every good tree doth yield good fruits, but the bad tree doth yield evil fruits.Even so, every good tree gives good fruit; but the bad tree gives evil fruit.
Matthew 7:18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. A good tree is not able to yield evil fruits, nor a bad tree to yield good fruits.It is not possible for a good tree to give bad fruit, and a bad tree will not give good fruit.
Matthew 7:19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Every tree not yielding good fruit is cut down and is cast to fire:Every tree which does not give good fruit is cut down and put in the fire.
Matthew 7:20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. therefore from their fruits ye shall know them.So by their fruits you will get knowledge of them.
Matthew 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. `Not every one who is saying to me Lord, lord, shall come into the reign of the heavens; but he who is doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens.Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will go into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the pleasure of my Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Many will say to me in that day, Lord, lord, have we not in thy name prophesied? and in thy name cast out demons? and in thy name done many mighty things?A great number will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, were we not prophets in your name, and did we not by your name send out evil spirits, and by your name do works of power?
Matthew 7:23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. and then I will acknowledge to them, that I never knew you, depart from me ye who are working lawlessness.And then will I say to them, I never had knowledge of you: go from me, you workers of evil.
Matthew 7:24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: `Therefore, every one who doth hear of me these words, and doth do them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock;Everyone, then, to whom my words come and who does them, will be like a wise man who made his house on a rock;
Matthew 7:25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock.And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house, but it was not moved; because it was based on the rock.
Matthew 7:26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: `And every one who is hearing of me these words, and is not doing them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;And everyone to whom my words come and who does them not, will be like a foolish man who made his house on sand;
Matthew 7:27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.`And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house; and it came down and great was its fall.
Matthew 7:28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: And it came to pass, when Jesus ended these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,And it came about, when Jesus had come to the end of these words, that the people were surprised at his teaching,
Matthew 7:29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. for he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.for he was teaching as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
