Jonah 2:1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish. Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Jonah 2:2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice. And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.
Jonah 2:3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice.
Jonah 2:4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. And I I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.
Jonah 2:5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head. And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again.
Jonah 2:6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.
Jonah 2:7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.
Jonah 2:8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake. When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple.
Jonah 2:9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And I with a voice of thanksgiving I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah. They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy.
Jonah 2:10And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land. But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord.
