| Romans 9:1 | I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, | Truth I say in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing testimony with me in the Holy Spirit, | And not only she. But when Rebecca also had conceived at once, of Isaac our father. |
| Romans 9:2 | That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. | that I have great grief and unceasing pain in my heart | For when the children were not yet born, nor had done any good or evil (that the purpose of God, according to election, might stand,) |
| Romans 9:3 | For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: | for I was wishing, I myself, to be anathema from the Christ for my brethren, my kindred, according to the flesh, | Not of works, but of him that calleth, it was said to her: The elder shall serve the younger. |
| Romans 9:4 | Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; | who are Israelites, whose [is] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the lawgiving, and the service, and the promises, | As it is written: Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated. |
| Romans 9:5 | Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. | whose [are] the fathers, and of whom [is] the Christ, according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed to the ages. Amen. | What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? God forbid. |
| Romans 9:6 | Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: | And it is not possible that the word of God hath failed; for not all who [are] of Israel are these Israel; | For he saith to Moses: I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy; and I will shew mercy to whom I will shew mercy. |
| Romans 9:7 | Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. | nor because they are seed of Abraham [are] all children, but `in Isaac shall a seed be called to thee;` | So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. |

Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it: Why hast thou made me thus? |
| Romans 9:12 | It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. | `The greater shall serve the less;` | Or hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump, to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? |

| Romans 9:15 | For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. | for to Moses He saith, `I will do kindness to whom I do kindness, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion;` | Even us, whom also he hath called, nor only of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles. |

| Romans 9:18 | Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. | so, then, to whom He willeth, He doth kindness, and to whom He willeth, He doth harden. | And Isaias crieth out concerning Israel: If the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved. |
| Romans 9:19 | Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? | Thou wilt say, then, to me, `Why yet doth He find fault? for His counsel who hath resisted?` | For he shall finish his word, and cut it short in justice; because a short word shall the Lord make upon the earth. |

Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? | nay, but, O man, who art thou that art answering again to God? shall the thing formed say to Him who did form [it], Why me didst thou make thus? | And as Isaias foretold: Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been made as Sodom, and we had been like unto Gomorrha. |
| Romans 9:21 | Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? | hath not the potter authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make the one vessel to honour, and the one to dishonour? | What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who followed not after justice, have attained to justice, even the justice that is of faith. |
| Romans 9:22 | What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: | And if God, willing to shew the wrath and to make known His power, did endure, in much long suffering, vessels of wrath fitted for destruction, | But Israel, by following after the law of justice, is not come unto the law of justice. |
| Romans 9:23 | And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, | and that He might make known the riches of His glory on vessels of kindness, that He before prepared for glory, whom also He did call us | Why so? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were of works. For they stumbled at the stumblingstone. |

| Romans 9:27 | Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: | And Isaiah doth cry concerning Israel, `If the number of the sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, the remnant shall be saved; | |
| Romans 9:28 | For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. | for a matter He is finishing, and is cutting short in righteousness, because a matter cut short will the Lord do upon the land. | |

That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. | What, then, shall we say? that nations who are not pursuing righteousness did attain to righteousness, and righteousness that [is] of faith, | |

| Romans 9:32 | Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; | wherefore? because not by faith, but as by works of law; for they did stumble at the stone of stumbling, | |
| Romans 9:33 | As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. | according as it hath been written, `Lo, I place in Sion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence; and every one who is believing thereon shall not be ashamed.` | |
