| Luke 3:5 | Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; | every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straightness, and the rough become smooth ways; | Every ravine shall be filled up, and every mountain and hill levelled down, the crooked places shall be turned into straight roads, and the rugged ways into smooth; |
| Luke 3:6 | And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. | and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.` | and then shall all mankind see God's salvation.'" |

| Luke 3:8 | Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. | make, therefore, fruits worthy of the reformation, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have a father Abraham; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise children to Abraham; | Live lives which shall prove your change of heart; and do not begin to say to yourselves, `We have Abraham as our forefather,' for I tell you that God can raise up descendants for Abraham from these stones. |
| Luke 3:9 | And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. | and already also the axe unto the root of the trees is laid, every tree, therefore, not making good fruit is cut down, and to fire it is cast.` | And even now the axe is lying at the root of the trees, so that every tree which fails to yield good fruit will quickly be hewn down and thrown into the fire." |

| Luke 3:11 | He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. | and he answering saith to them, `He having two coats let him impart to him having none, and he having victuals in like manner let him do.` | "Let the man who has two coats," he answered, "give one to the man who has none; and let the man who has food share it with others." |

| Luke 3:13 | And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. | and he said unto them, `Exact no more than that directed you.` | "Do not exact more than the legal amount," he replied. |
| Luke 3:14 | And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. | And questioning him also were those warring, saying, `And we, what shall we do?` and he said unto them, `Do violence to no one, nor accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.` | The soldiers also once and again inquired of him, "And we, what are we to do?" His answer was, "Neither intimidate any one nor lay false charges; and be content with your pay." |
| Luke 3:15 | And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; | And the people are looking forward, and all are reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether or not he may be the Christ; | And while the people were in suspense and all were debating in their minds whether John might possibly be the Anointed One, |
| Luke 3:16 | John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: | John answered, saying to all, `I indeed with water do baptise you, but he cometh who is mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to loose the latchet of his sandals he shall baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire; | he answered the question by saying to them all, "As for me, I am baptizing you with water, but One mightier than I is coming, whose very sandal-strap I am not worthy to unfasten: He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and with fire. |
