John 12:1Then Jesus, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.Jesus therefore six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead. John 12:2There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.So they made him a supper there: and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of them that sat at meat with him. John 12:3Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment. John 12:4Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who was to betray him,But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, that should betray him, saith, Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, he that was about to betray him, said:
John 12:5Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred shillings, and given to the poor? Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
John 12:6This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bore what was put in it.Now this he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag took away what was put therein. Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the purse, carried the things that were put therein.
John 12:7Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burial hath she kept this.Jesus therefore said, Suffer her to keep it against the day of my burying. Jesus therefore said: Let her alone, that she may keep it against the day of my burial.
John 12:8For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always. For the poor you have always with you; but me you have not always.
John 12:9Many people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.The common people therefore of the Jews learned that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. John 12:10But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;But the chief priests took counsel that they might put Lazarus also to death; But the chief priests thought to kill Lazarus also:
John 12:11Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus. Because many of the Jews, by reason of him, went away, and believed in Jesus.
John 12:12On the next day, many people that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,On the morrow a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, And on the next day, a great multitude that was to come to the festival day, when they had heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
John 12:13Took branches of palm-trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna; Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel. John 12:14And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,And Jesus, having found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, And Jesus found a young ass, and sat upon it, as it is written:
John 12:15Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy king cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.
John 12:16These things his disciples understood not at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning him, and that they had done these things to him.These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. These things his disciples did not know at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him.
John 12:17The people therefore that were with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bore testimony.The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, bare witness. John 12:18For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.For this cause also the multitude went and met him, for that they heard that he had done this sign. John 12:19The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Behold how ye prevail nothing: lo, the world is gone after him. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves: Do you see that we prevail nothing? behold, the whole world is gone after him.
John 12:20And there were certain Greeks among them, that came to worship at the feast.Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast: Now there were certain Gentiles among them, who came up to adore on the festival day.
John 12:21The same came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.these therefore came to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. These therefore came to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying: Sir, we would see Jesus.

John 12:24Verily, verily, I say to you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abideth by itself alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit. Amen, amen I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falling into the ground die,
John 12:25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall keep it to life eternal.He that loveth his life loseth it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. Itself remaineth alone. But if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, keepeth it unto life eternal.
John 12:26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honor. If any man minister to me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also shall my minister be. If any man minister to me, him will my Father honour.

John 12:35Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.Jesus therefore said unto them, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness overtake you not: and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. Jesus therefore said to them: Yet a little while, the light is among you. Walk whilst you have the light, that the darkness overtake you not. And he that walketh in darkness, knoweth not whither he goeth.
John 12:36While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and concealed himself from them.While ye have the light, believe on the light, that ye may become sons of light. These things spake Jesus, and he departed and hid himself from them. Whilst you have the light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light. These things Jesus spoke; and he went away, and hid himself from them.
John 12:37But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on him: And whereas he had done so many miracles before them, they believed not in him:
John 12:38That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? That the saying of Isaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said: Lord, who hath believed our hearing? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
John 12:39Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again,For this cause they could not believe, for that Isaiah said again, Therefore they could not believe, because Isaias said again:
John 12:40He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.He hath blinded their eyes, and he hardened their heart; Lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, And should turn, And I should heal them. John 12:42Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [it], lest they should be put out of the synagogue: However, many of the chief men also believed in him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, that they might not be cast out of the synagogue.
John 12:43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.for they loved the glory [that is] of men more than the glory [that is] of God. For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.
John 12:44Jesus cried, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me:And Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. But Jesus cried, and said: He that believeth in me, doth not believe in me, but in him that sent me.
John 12:45And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me:And he that beholdeth me beholdeth him that sent me. And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me.
John 12:46I am come a light into the world, that whoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness. I am come a light into the world; that whosoever believeth in me, may not remain in darkness.
John 12:47And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.And if any man hear my sayings, and keep them not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. And if any man hear my words, and keep them not, I do not judge him: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
John 12:48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:49For I have not spoken from myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me commandment what I should say, and what I should speak.
John 12:50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak.And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak.
