Mark 5:3Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:who had his dwelling in the tombs: and no man could any more bind him, no, not with a chain; who had his dwelling in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,
Mark 5:4For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been rent asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: and no man had strength to tame him. because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. Nobody had the strength to tame him.
Mark 5:5And always, night and day, he was on the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones. Mark 5:6But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped him,And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshipped him; When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,
Mark 5:7And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.and crying out with a loud voice, he saith, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, torment me not. and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don't torment me."
Mark 5:8(For he said to him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.)For he said unto him, Come forth, thou unclean spirit, out of the man. For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"
Mark 5:9And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith unto him, My name is Legion; for we are many. He asked him, "What is your name?" He said to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
Mark 5:10And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
Mark 5:11Now there was there nigh to the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.Now there was there on the mountain side a great herd of swine feeding. Now there was there on the mountainside a great herd of pigs feeding.
Mark 5:12And all the demons besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.And they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. All the demons begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."
Mark 5:13And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea (they were about two thousand) and were choked in the sea.And he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered into the swine: and the herd rushed down the steep into the sea, [in number] about two thousand; and they were drowned in the sea. At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out, and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.
Mark 5:14And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.And they that fed them fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they came to see what it was that had come to pass. Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.
Mark 5:15And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the demon, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.And they come to Jesus, and behold him that was possessed with demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, [even] him that had the legion: and they were afraid. They came to Jesus, and saw him who was possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.
Mark 5:16And they that saw it told them how it befell him that was possessed with the demon, and also concerning the swine.And they that saw it declared unto them how it befell him that was possessed with demons, and concerning the swine. Those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.
Mark 5:17And they began to pray him to depart out of their borders.And they began to beseech him to depart from their borders. They began to beg him to depart from their borders.
Mark 5:18And when he had come into the boat, he that had been possessed with the demon prayed him that he might be with him.And as he was entering into the boat, he that had been possessed with demons besought him that he might be with him. As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.
Mark 5:19Yet Jesus suffered him not, but saith to him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.And he suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go to thy house unto thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and [how] he had mercy on thee. He didn't allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them how the Lord has done great things for you, and how he had mercy on you."
Mark 5:20And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him. And all men wondered.And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men marvelled. He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.
Mark 5:21And when Jesus had passed over again in a boat to the other side, much people gathered to him: and he was nigh to the sea.And when Jesus had crossed over again in the boat unto the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto him; and he was by the sea. When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.
Mark 5:22And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he falleth at his feet, Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
Mark 5:23And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she will live.and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: [I pray thee], that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live. and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live."
Mark 5:24And Jesus went with him; and many people followed him, and thronged him.And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him. He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.

Mark 5:30And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the throng, and said, Who touched my clothes?And straightway Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power [proceeding] from him had gone forth, turned him about in the crowd, and said, Who touched my garments? Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone forth from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
Mark 5:31And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? His disciples said to him, "You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"
Mark 5:32And he looked around, to see her that had done this thing.And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

Mark 5:34And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be healed of thy infirmity.And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."
Mark 5:35While he was yet speaking, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain who said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?While he yet spake, they come from the ruler of the synagogue's [house] saying, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Teacher any further? While he was still speaking, they came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?"
Mark 5:36As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe,But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe. But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Don't be afraid, only believe."
Mark 5:37And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.And he suffered no man to follow with him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
Mark 5:38And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he beholdeth a tumult, and [many] weeping and wailing greatly. He came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.
Mark 5:39And when he had come in, he saith to them, Why make ye this tumult, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.And when he was entered in, he saith unto them, Why make ye a tumult, and weep? the child is not dead, but sleepeth. When he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep."
Mark 5:40And they derided him: but when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.And they laughed him to scorn. But he, having put them all forth, taketh the father of the child and her mother and them that were with him, and goeth in where the child was. They laughed him to scorn. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child and her mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying.
Mark 5:41And he took the damsel by the hand, and said to her, Talitha cumi: which is, being interpreted, Damsel (I say to thee) arise.And taking the child by the hand, he saith unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, Arise. Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha cumi;" which means, being interpreted, "Young lady, I tell you, get up."
Mark 5:42And forthwith the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.And straightway the damsel rose up, and walked; for she was twelve years old. And they were amazed straightway with a great amazement. Immediately the young lady rose up, and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.
Mark 5:43And he charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.And he charged them much that no man should know this: and he commanded that [something] should be given her to eat. He charged them much that no one should know this. He commanded that something should be given to her to eat.
