Mark 9:2 | And after six days, Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up upon a high mountain apart by themselves; and he was transfigured before them. | And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and made them go up with him into a high mountain by themselves: and he was changed in form before them: | Six days later, Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John, and brought them alone, apart from the rest, up a high mountain; and in their presence His appearance underwent a change. |

Let us put up three tents one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." |
Mark 9:6 | For he knew not what to say: for they were greatly terrified. | Because he was not certain what to say, for they were in great fear. | For he knew not what to say: they were filled with such awe. |

Mark 9:8 | And suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves. | And suddenly looking round about, they saw no one any longer, but Jesus only with themselves. | Instantly they looked round, and now they could no longer see any one, but themselves and Jesus. |
Mark 9:9 | And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead. | And while they were coming down from the mountain, he gave them orders not to give word to any man of the things they had seen, till the Son of man had come back from the dead. | As they were coming down from the mountain, He very strictly forbad them to tell any one what they had seen "until after the Son of Man has risen from among the dead." |

Mark 9:12 | And he answered and told them, Elijah verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written concerning the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at naught. | And he said to them, Truly, Elijah does come first, and puts all things in order; and how is it said in the Writings that the Son of man will go through much sorrow and be made as nothing? | "Elijah," He replied, "does indeed come first and reforms everything; but how is it that it is written of the Son of Man that He will endure much suffering and be held in contempt? |
Mark 9:13 | But I say to you, that Elijah is indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they pleased, as it is written concerning him. | But I say to you that Elijah has come, and they have done to him whatever they were pleased to do, even as the Writings say about him. | Yet I tell you that not only has Elijah come, but they have also done to him whatever they chose, as the Scriptures say about him." |

He has a dumb spirit in him; |
Mark 9:18 | And wherever he taketh him, he teareth him; and he foameth and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away; and I spoke to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not. | And wherever it takes him, it puts him down violently, streaming at the lips and twisted with pain; and his strength goes from him; and I made a request to your disciples to send it out, and they were not able. | and wherever it comes upon him, it dashes him to the ground, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth, and he is pining away. I begged your disciples to expel it, but they had not the power." |
Mark 9:19 | He answered him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you, how long shall I suffer you? bring him to me. | And he said to them in answer, O generation without faith, how long will I have to be with you? how long will I put up with you? let him come to me. | "O unbelieving generation!" replied Jesus; "how long must I be with you? how long must I have patience with you? Bring the boy to me." |

Mark 9:22 | And often it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. | And frequently it has sent him into the fire and into the water, for his destruction; but if you are able to do anything, have pity on us, and give us help. | "and often it has thrown him into the fire or into pools of water to destroy him. But, if you possibly can, have pity on us and help us." |
Mark 9:23 | Jesus said to him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | And Jesus said to him, If you are able! All things are possible to him who has faith. | "`If I possibly can!'" replied Jesus; "why, everything is possible to him who believes." |
Mark 9:24 | And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou my unbelief. | Straight away the father of the child gave a cry, saying, I have faith; make my feeble faith stronger. | Immediately the father cried out, "I do believe: strengthen my weak faith." |
Mark 9:25 | When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying to him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. | And when Jesus saw that the people came running together, he gave orders to the unclean spirit, saying to him, You, spirit, who are the cause of his loss of voice and hearing, I say to you, come out of him, and never again go into him. | Then Jesus, seeing that an increasing crowd was running towards Him, rebuked the foul spirit, and said to it, "Dumb and deaf spirit, *I* command you, come out of him and never enter into him again." |
Mark 9:26 | And the spirit cried, and rent him severely, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; so that many said, He is dead. | And after crying out and shaking him violently, it came out: and the child became like one dead; so that most of them said, He is dead. | So with a loud cry he threw the boy into fit after fit, and came out. The boy looked as if he were dead, so that most of them said he was dead; |

Mark 9:30 | And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. | And they went out from there, through Galilee; and it was his desire that no man might have knowledge of it; | Departing thence they passed through Galilee, and He was unwilling that any one should know it; |
Mark 9:31 | For he taught his disciples, and said to them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him; and after that he is killed, he will rise the third day. | For he was giving his disciples teaching, and saying to them, The Son of man is given up into the hands of men, and they will put him to death; and when he is dead, after three days he will come back from the dead. | for He was teaching His disciples, and telling them, "The Son of Man is to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will put Him to death; and after being put to death, in three days He will rise to life again." |
Mark 9:32 | But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. | But the saying was not clear to them, and they were in fear of questioning him about it. | They, however, did not understand what He meant, and were afraid to question Him. |

Mark 9:34 | But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. | But they said nothing: because they had had an argument between themselves on the way, about who was the greatest. | But they remained silent; for on the way they had debated with one another who was the chief of them. |

Mark 9:39 | But Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no man who shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. | But Jesus said, Say not so: for there is no man who will do a great work in my name, and be able at the same time to say evil of me. | "You should not have tried to hinder him," replied Jesus, "for there is no one who will use my name to perform a miracle and be able the next minute to speak evil of me. |

Mark 9:42 | And whoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe in me, to fall into sin, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. | And whoever is a cause of trouble to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him if a great stone was put round his neck and he was dropped into the sea. | "And whoever shall occasion the fall of one of these little ones who believe, he would be better off if, with a millstone round his neck, he were lying at the bottom of the sea. |
Mark 9:43 | And if thy hand causeth thee to fall into sin, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: | And if your hand is a cause of trouble to you, let it be cut off; it is better for you to go into life with one hand than to have two hands and go into hell, into the eternal fire. | If your hand should cause you to sin, cut it off: it would be better for you to enter into Life maimed, than remain in possession of both your hands and go away into Gehenna, into the fire which cannot be put out. |

It would be better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God half-blind than remain in possession of two eyes and be thrown into Gehenna, |
