| Ezekiel 28:1 | The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, | The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying: |
| Ezekiel 28:2 | Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou settest thy heart as the heart of God: | Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, This is what the Lord has said: Because your heart has been lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I am seated on the seat of God in the heart of the seas; but you are man and not God, though you have made your heart as the heart of God: | `Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart hath been high, And thou dost say: A god I [am], The habitation of God I have inhabited, In the heart of the seas, And thou [art] man, and not God, And thou givest out thy heart as the heart of God, |
| Ezekiel 28:3 | Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: | See, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret which is deeper than your knowledge: | Lo, thou [art] wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:4 | With thy wisdom and with thy understanding thou hast gained for thee riches, and hast gained gold and silver into thy treasures: | By your wisdom and deep knowledge you have got power for yourself, and put silver and gold in your store-houses: | By thy wisdom and by thine understanding Thou hast made for thee wealth, And makest gold and silver in thy treasuries. |
| Ezekiel 28:5 | By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches: | By your great wisdom and by your trade your power is increased, and your heart is lifted up because of your power: | By the abundance of thy wisdom, Through thy merchandise, Thou hast multiplied thy wealth, And high is thy heart through thy wealth. |
| Ezekiel 28:6 | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God; | For this cause the Lord has said: Because you have made your heart as the heart of God, | Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of thy giving out thy heart as the heart of God, |
| Ezekiel 28:7 | Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. | See, I am sending against you strange men, feared among the nations: they will let loose their swords against your bright wisdom, they will make your glory a common thing. | Therefore, lo, I am bringing in against thee strangers, The terrible of the nations, And they have drawn out their swords Against the beauty of thy wisdom, And they have pierced thy brightness. |
| Ezekiel 28:8 | They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. | They will send you down to the underworld, and your death will be the death of those who are put to the sword in the heart of the seas. | To destruction they bring thee down, Thou diest by the deaths of the wounded, in the heart of the seas. |
| Ezekiel 28:9 | Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no god, in the hand of him that slayeth thee. | Will you say, in the face of those who are taking your life, I am God? but you are man and not God in the hands of those who are wounding you. | Dost thou really say, `I [am] God,` Before him who is slaying thee? And thou [art] man, and not God, In the hand of him who is piercing thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:10 | Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD. | Your death will be the death of those who are without circumcision, by the hands of men from strange lands: for I have said it, says the Lord. | The deaths of the uncircumcised thou diest, By the hand of strangers, for I have spoken, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.` |

| Ezekiel 28:12 | Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. | Son of man, make a song of grief for the king of Tyre, and say to him, This is what the Lord has said: You are all-wise and completely beautiful; | `Son of man, lift up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, And thou hast said to him: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Thou art sealing up a measurement, Full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. |
| Ezekiel 28:13 | Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. | You were in Eden, the garden of God; every stone of great price was your clothing, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the emerald and the carbuncle: your store-houses were full of gold, and things of great price were in you; in the day when you were made they were got ready. | In Eden, the garden of God, thou hast been, Every precious stone thy covering, Ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle, and gold, The workmanship of thy tabrets, and of thy pipes, In thee in the day of thy being produced, have been prepared. |
| Ezekiel 28:14 | Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. | I gave you your place with the winged one; I put you on the mountain of God; you went up and down among the stones of fire. | Thou [art] an anointed cherub who is covering, And I have set thee in the holy mount, God thou hast been, In the midst of stones of fire thou hast walked up and down. |
| Ezekiel 28:15 | Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. | There has been no evil in your ways from the day when you were made, till sin was seen in you. | Perfect [art] thou in thy ways, From the day of thy being produced, Till perversity hath been found in thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:16 | By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. | Through all your trading you have become full of violent ways, and have done evil: so I sent you out shamed from the mountain of God; the winged one put an end to you from among the stones of fire. | By the abundance of thy merchandise They have filled thy midst with violence, And thou dost sin, And I thrust thee from the mount of God, And I destroy thee, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire. |
| Ezekiel 28:17 | Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. | Your heart was lifted up because you were beautiful, you made your wisdom evil through your sin: I have sent you down, even to the earth; I have made you low before kings, so that they may see you. | High hath been thy heart, because of thy beauty, Thou hast corrupted thy wisdom because of thy brightness, On the earth I have cast thee, Before kings I have set thee, to look on thee, |
| Ezekiel 28:18 | Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. | By all your sin, even by your evil trading, you have made your holy places unclean; so I will make a fire come out from you, it will make a meal of you, and I will make you as dust on the earth before the eyes of all who see you. | From the abundance of thy iniquity, By the perversity of thy traffic, Thou hast polluted thy sanctuaries, And I bring forth fire from thy midst, It hath devoured thee, And I make thee become ashes on the earth, Before the eyes of all beholding thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:19 | All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. | All who have knowledge of you among the peoples will be overcome with wonder at you: you have become a thing of fear, and you will never be seen again. | All knowing thee among the peoples Have been astonished at thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not to the age.` |
| Ezekiel 28:20 | Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, |
| Ezekiel 28:21 | Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it, | Son of man, let your face be turned to Zidon, and be a prophet against it, and say, | `Son of man, set thy face unto Zidon, and prophesy concerning it; |
| Ezekiel 28:22 | And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. | These are the words of the Lord: See, I am against you, O Zidon; and I will get glory for myself in you: and they will be certain that I am the Lord, when I send my punishments on her, and I will be seen to be holy in her. | and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against thee, O Zidon, And I have been honoured in thy midst, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah, In My doing in her judgments, And I have been sanctified in her. |
| Ezekiel 28:23 | For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD. | And I will send on her disease and blood in her streets; and the wounded will be falling in the middle of her, and the sword will be against her on every side; and they will be certain that I am the Lord. | And I have sent into her pestilence, And blood into her out-places, The wounded hath been judged in her midst, By the sword upon her round about, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah. |
| Ezekiel 28:24 | And there shall be no more a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are around them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD. | And there will no longer be a plant with sharp points wounding the children of Israel, or a thorn troubling them among any who are round about them, who put shame on them; and they will be certain that I am the Lord. | And there is no more to the house of Israel A pricking brier, and paining thorn, Of all round about them despising them, And they have known that I [am] the Lord Jehovah. |
| Ezekiel 28:25 | Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. | This is what the Lord has said: When I have got together the children of Israel from the peoples among whom they are wandering, and have been made holy among them before the eyes of the nations, then they will have rest in the land which is theirs, which I gave to my servant Jacob | Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In My gathering the house of Israel, Out of the peoples among whom they were scattered, I have been sanctified in them, Before the eyes of the nations, And they have dwelt on their ground, That I gave to My servant, to Jacob, |
| Ezekiel 28:26 | And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them around them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God. | And they will be safe there, building houses and planting vine-gardens and living without fear; when I have sent my punishments on all those who put shame on them round about them; and they will be certain that I am the Lord their God. | And they have dwelt on it confidently, And builded houses, and planted vineyards, And dwelt confidently in My doing judgments, On all those despising them round about, And they have known that I, Jehovah, [am] their God!` |
