John 7:1After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.And after these things Jesus walked in Galilee, for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him. After this, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee. He did not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were looking for a chance to put him to death.
John 7:2Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. Now the tabernacles, the feast of the Jews, was near. But the feast of the Jews, the feast of tents, was near.
John 7:3His brethren therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. His brethren therefore said to him, Remove hence and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou doest; So his brothers said to him, Go away from here into Judaea so that your disciples may see the works which you do.
John 7:4For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world.for no one does anything in secret and himself seeks to be [known] in public. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world:Because no man does things secretly if he has a desire that men may have knowledge of him. If you do these things, let yourself be seen by all men.
John 7:5(For neither did his brethren believe in him.)for neither did his brethren believe on him.For even his brothers had no belief in him.
John 7:6Then Jesus said to them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.Jesus therefore says to them, My time is not yet come, but your time is always ready.Jesus said to them, My time is still to come, but any time is good for you.
John 7:7The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil. The world cannot hate you, but me it hates, because I bear witness concerning it that its works are evil.It is not possible for you to be hated by the world; but I am hated by it, because I give witness that what it does is evil.
John 7:8Go ye up to this feast: I go not yet to this feast, for my time is not yet full come.Ye, go ye up to this feast. I go not up to this feast, for *my* time is not yet fulfilled.Go you up to the feast: I am not going up now to the feast because my time has not fully come.
John 7:9When he had said these words to them, he abode still in Galilee.Having said these things to them he abode in Galilee.Having said these things to them, he still kept in Galilee.
John 7:10But when his brethren had gone up, then he went also to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. But when his brethren had gone up, then he himself also went up to the feast, not openly, but as in secret. But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he went up, not publicly, but in secret.
John 7:11Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?At the feast the Jews were looking for him and saying, Where is he?
John 7:12And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; but he deceiveth the people. And there was much murmuring concerning him among the crowds. Some said, He is [a] good [man]; others said, No; but he deceives the crowd. And there was much discussion about him among the mass of the people. Some said, He is a good man; but others said, No, he is giving people false ideas.
John 7:13Yet, no man spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews. However, no one spoke openly concerning him on account of [their] fear of the Jews. But no man said anything about him openly for fear of the Jews.
John 7:14Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. But when it was now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught. Now in the middle of the feast Jesus went up to the Temple and was teaching.
John 7:15And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? The Jews therefore wondered, saying, How knows this [man] letters, having never learned? Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.
John 7:16Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.Jesus therefore answered them and said, My doctrine is not mine, but [that] of him that has sent me.Jesus gave them this answer: It is not my teaching, but his who sent me.
John 7:17If any man will do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself. If any one desire to practise his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God, or [that] I speak from myself. If any man is ready to do God's pleasure he will have knowledge of the teaching and of where it comes from from God or from myself.
John 7:18He that speaketh from himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.He that speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but he that seeks the glory of him that has sent him, he is true, and unrighteousness is not in him.The man whose words come from himself is looking for glory for himself, but he who is looking for the glory of him who sent him that man is true and there is no evil in him.
John 7:19Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?Has not Moses given you the law, and no one of you practises the law? Why do ye seek to kill me?Did not Moses give you the law? Even so, not one of you keeps the law. Why have you a desire to put me to death?
John 7:20The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who goeth about to kill thee? The crowd answered [and said], Thou hast a demon: who seeks to kill thee? The people said in answer, You have an evil spirit: who has any desire to put you to death?
John 7:21Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all wonder. This was the answer of Jesus: I have done one work and you are all surprised at it.
John 7:22Moses therefore gave to you circumcision, (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man. Therefore Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and ye circumcise a man on sabbath.Moses gave you circumcision not that it comes from Moses, but from the fathers and even on the Sabbath you give a child circumcision.
John 7:23If a man on the sabbath receiveth circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have restored a man to sound health on the sabbath? If a man receives circumcision on sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be violated, are ye angry with me because I have made a man entirely sound on sabbath? If a child is given circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
John 7:24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.Judge not according to sight, but judge righteous judgment.Let not your decisions be based on what you see, but on righteousness.
John 7:25Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? Some therefore of those of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, Is not this the man whose death is desired?
John 7:26But lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?and behold, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers then indeed recognised that this is the Christ? And here he is talking openly and they say nothing to him! Is it possible that the rulers have knowledge that this is truly the Christ?
John 7:27But we know this man, whence he is: whereas when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.But [as to] this [man] we know whence he is. Now [as to] the Christ, when he comes, no one knows whence he is.However, it is clear to us where this man comes from: but when the Christ comes no one will have knowledge where he comes from.
John 7:28Then cried Jesus in the temple, as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me and ye know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye do not know. Then, when he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus said with a loud voice, You have knowledge of me and you have knowledge of where I come from; and I have not come of myself; but there is One who has sent me; he is true, but you have no knowledge of him.
John 7:29But I know him; for I am from him, and he hath sent me.I know him, because I am from him, and *he* has sent me.I have knowledge of him because I came from him and he sent me.
John 7:30Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. They sought therefore to take him; and no one laid his hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come. Then they had a desire to take him: but no man put hands on him because his hour was still to come.
John 7:31And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done? But many of the crowd believed on him, and said, Will the Christ, when he comes, do more signs than those which this [man] has done? And numbers of the people had belief in him, and they said, When the Christ comes will he do more signs than this man has done?
John 7:32The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him: and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they might take him. This discussion of the people came to the ears of the Pharisees; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent servants to take him.
John 7:33Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go to him that sent me.Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and I go to him that has sent me.Then Jesus said, I will be with you a little longer and then I go to him who sent me.
John 7:34Ye will seek me, and will not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.Ye shall seek me and shall not find [me], and where I am ye cannot come. You will be looking for me, and you will not see me: and where I am you may not come.
John 7:35Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go to the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? The Jews therefore said to one another, Where is he about to go that we shall not find him? Is he about to go to the dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? So the Jews said among themselves, To what place is he going where we will not see him? will he go to the Jews living among the Greeks and become the teacher of the Greeks?
John 7:36What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye will seek me, and will not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come? What word is this which he said, Ye shall seek me and shall not find [me]; and where I am ye cannot come? What is this saying of his, You will be looking for me and will not see me, and where I am you may not come?
John 7:37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirsteth, let him come to me, and drink. In the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus got up and said in a loud voice, If any man is in need of drink let him come to me and I will give it to him.
John 7:38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. He who has faith in me, out of his body, as the Writings have said, will come rivers of living water.
John 7:39(But this he spoke of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)But this he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive; for [the] Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. This he said of the Spirit which would be given to those who had faith in him: the Spirit had not been given then, because the glory of Jesus was still to come.
John 7:40Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, In truth this is the Prophet.[Some] out of the crowd therefore, having heard this word, said, This is truly the prophet. When these words came to their ears, some of the people said, This is certainly the prophet.
John 7:41Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Will Christ come out of Galilee?Others said, This is the Christ. Others said, Does then the Christ come out of Galilee?Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, Not so; will the Christ come from Galilee?
John 7:42Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?Has not the scripture said that the Christ comes of the seed of David, and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?Do not the Writings say that the Christ comes of the seed of David and from Beth-lehem, the little town where David was?
John 7:43So there was a division among the people because of him. There was a division therefore in the crowd on account of him.So there was a division among the people because of him.
John 7:44And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.But some of them desired to take him, but no one laid hands upon him.And some of them had a desire to take him; but no man put hands on him.
John 7:45Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said to them, Why have ye not brought him?The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, Why have ye not brought him? Then the servants went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why have you not got him with you?
John 7:46The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.The officers answered, Never man spoke thus, as this man [speaks].The servants made answer, No man ever said things like this man.
John 7:47Then the Pharisees answered them, Are ye also deceived? The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also deceived? Then the Pharisees said to them, Have you, like the others, been given false ideas?
John 7:48Have any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believed on him?Has any one of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees?Have any of the rulers belief in him, or any one of the Pharisees?
John 7:49But this people who know not the law are cursed. But this crowd, which does not know the law, are accursed. But these people who have no knowledge of the law are cursed.
John 7:50Nicodemus saith to them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them)Nicodemus says to them (being one of themselves),Nicodemus he who had come to Jesus before, being himself one of them said to them,
John 7:51Doth our law judge any man before it heareth him, and knoweth what he doeth?Does our law judge a man before it have first heard from himself, and know what he does?Is a man judged by our law before it has given him a hearing and has knowledge of what he has done?
John 7:52They answered and said to him, Art thou also from Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. They answered and said to him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and look, that no prophet arises out of Galilee. This was their answer: And do you come from Galilee? Make search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.
John 7:53And every man went to his own house.And every one went to his home.[And every man went to his house;
