Luke 14:1And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath, that they watched him.And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the rulers, [who was] of the Pharisees, to eat bread on [the] sabbath, that *they* were watching him.And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
Luke 14:2And behold, there was a certain man before him who had the dropsy.And behold, there was a certain dropsical [man] before him.And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
Luke 14:3And Jesus answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?And Jesus answering spoke unto the doctors of the law and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
Luke 14:4And they held their peace. And he took him and healed him, and let him go;But they were silent. And taking him he healed him and let him go.And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
Luke 14:5And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not forthwith pull him out on the sabbath?And answering he said to them, Of which of you shall an ass or ox fall into a well, that he does not straightway pull him up on the sabbath day?And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
Luke 14:6And they could not answer him again to these things.And they were not able to answer him to these things.And they could not answer him again to these things.
Luke 14:7And he put forth a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying to them,And he spoke a parable to those that were invited, remarking how they chose out the first places, saying to them,And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
Luke 14:8When thou art invited by any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room, lest a more honorable man than thou be invited by him;When thou art invited by any one to a wedding, do not lay thyself down in the first place at table, lest perhaps a more honourable than thou be invited by him,When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
Luke 14:9And he that invited thee and him, shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.and he who invited thee and him come and say to thee, Give place to this [man], and then thou begin with shame to take the last place.And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
Luke 14:10But when thou art invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that invited thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honor in the presence of them that sit at table with thee.But when thou hast been invited, go and put thyself down in the last place, that when he who has invited thee comes, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honour before all that are lying at table with thee;But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
Luke 14:11For whoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.for every one that exalts himself shall be abased, and he that abases himself shall be exalted.For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luke 14:12Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors; lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee.And he said also to him that had invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsfolk, nor rich neighbours, lest it may be they also should invite thee in return, and a recompense be made thee.Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.

Luke 14:14And thou shalt be blessed: for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.and thou shalt be blessed; for they have not [the means] to recompense thee; for it shall be recompensed thee in the resurrection of the just.And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
Luke 14:15And when one of them that sat at table with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.And one of those that were lying at table with [them], hearing these things, said to him, Blessed [is] he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

Luke 14:17And sent his servant at supper-time, to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.And he sent his bondman at the hour of supper to say to those who were invited, Come, for already all things are ready.And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
Luke 14:18And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.And all began, without exception, to excuse themselves. The first said to him, I have bought land, and I must go out and see it; I pray thee hold me for excused.And they all with one consent began to make excuse. Luke 14:21So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.And the bondman came up and brought back word of these things to his lord. Then the master of the house, in anger, said to his bondman, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring here the poor and crippled and lame and blind.So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
Luke 14:22And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.And the bondman said, Sir, it is done as thou hast commanded, and there is still room.And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

Luke 14:24For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste my supper.for I say to you, that not one of those men who were invited shall taste of my supper.For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

Luke 14:26If any man cometh to me, and hateth not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.If any man come to me, and shall not hate his own father and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple;If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:27And whoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.and whoever does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:28For which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he hath sufficient to finish it?For which of you, desirous of building a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, if he have what [is needed] to complete it;For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Luke 14:29Lest perhaps after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,in order that, having laid the foundation of it, and not being able to finish it, all who see it do not begin to mock at him,Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

Luke 14:31Or what king going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?Or what king, going on his way to engage in war with another king, does not, sitting down first, take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him coming against him with twenty thousand?Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Luke 14:32Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an embassy, and desireth conditions of peace.and if not, while he is yet far off, having sent an embassy, he asks for terms of peace.Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Luke 14:33So likewise, whoever he is of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.Thus then every one of you who forsakes not all that is his own cannot be my disciple.So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
