Matthew 20:1For the kingdom of heaven is like to a man that is a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. The kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. For the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a house, who went out early in the morning to get workers into his vine-garden.
Matthew 20:2And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And when he had made an agreement with the workmen for a penny a day, he sent them into his vine-garden.

Matthew 20:4And said to them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatever is right, I will give you. And they departed. And he said to them: Go you also into my vineyard, and I will give you what shall be just. And he said to them, Go into the vine-garden with the others, and whatever is right I will give you. And they went to work.
Matthew 20:5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And they went their way. And again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did in like manner.Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same.
Matthew 20:6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith to them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? But about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing, and he saith to them: Why stand you here all the day idle? And about the eleventh hour he went out and saw others doing nothing; and he says to them, Why are you here all the day doing nothing?
Matthew 20:7They say to him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatever is right, that shall ye receive. They say to him: Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them: Go you also into my vineyard. They say to him, Because no man has given us work. He says to them, Go in with the rest, into the vine-garden.
Matthew 20:8So when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last to the first. And when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward: Call the labourers and pay them their hire, beginning from the last even to the first. And when evening came, the lord of the vine-garden said to his manager, Let the workers come, and give them their payment, from the last to the first.
Matthew 20:9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. When therefore they were come, that came about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. And when those men came who had gone to work at the eleventh hour, they were given every man a penny.
Matthew 20:10But when the first came, they supposed that they should receive more; and they likewise received every man a penny. But when the first also came, they thought that they should receive more: and they also received every man a penny. Then those who came first had the idea that they would get more; and they, like the rest, were given a penny.
Matthew 20:11And when they had received it, they murmured against the master of the house. And receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,And when they got it, they made a protest against the master of the house,

Matthew 20:13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny? But he answering said to one of them: Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny? But he in answer said to one of them, Friend, I do you no wrong: did you not make an agreement with me for a penny?
Matthew 20:14Take that which is thine, and depart: I will give to this last, even as to thee.Take what is thine, and go thy way: I will also give to this last even as to thee.Take what is yours, and go away; it is my pleasure to give to this last, even as to you.
Matthew 20:15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? is thy eye evil because I am good?Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good?Have I not the right to do as seems good to me in my house? or is your eye evil, because I am good?

Matthew 20:20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children, with her sons, worshiping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and asking something of him. Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, giving him worship and making a request of him.
Matthew 20:21And he said to her, What wilt thou: She saith to him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left in thy kingdom.Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom. And he said to her, What is your desire? Matthew 20:23And he saith to them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared by my Father. He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink; but to sit on my right or left hand, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father. They say to him, We are able. He says to them, Truly, you will take of my cup: but to be seated at my right hand and at my left is not for me to give, but it is for those for whom my Father has made it ready.

Matthew 20:28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.Even as the Son of man is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a redemption for many.Even as the Son of man did not come to have servants, but to be a servant, and to give his life for the salvation of men.
