1st-Peter 5:1The elders who are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:The ancients therefore that are among you, I beseech, who am myself also an ancient, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ: as also a partaker of that glory which is to be revealed in time to come:I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.
1st-Peter 5:2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight of it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but from a ready mind;Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking care of it, not by constraint, but willingly, according to God: not for filthy lucre's sake, but voluntarily:Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
1st-Peter 5:3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.Neither as lording it over the clergy, but being made a pattern of the flock from the heart.neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.And when the prince of pastors shall appear, you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.When the chief Shepherd will be revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away.
1st-Peter 5:5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.In like manner, ye young men, be subject to the ancients. And do you all insinuate humility one to another, for God resisteth the proud, but to the humble he giveth grace.Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
1st-Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:Be you humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation:Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
1st-Peter 5:7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.Casting all your care upon him, for he hath care of you.casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
1st-Peter 5:9Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls your brethren who are in the world.Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
1st-Peter 5:10But the God of all grace, who hath called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.But the God of all grace, who hath called us into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you, and confirm you, and establish you.But may the God of all grace (who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus), after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
1st-Peter 5:11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.To him be glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12By Silvanus, a faithful brother to you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which ye stand.By Sylvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I think, I have written briefly: beseeching and testifying that this is the true grace of God, wherein you stand.Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
1st-Peter 5:13The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Mark my son.The church that is in Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you: and so doth my son Mark.She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.Salute one another with a holy kiss. Grace be to all you, who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
