Hebrews 9:1Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.The former indeed had also justifications of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.Now indeed even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service, and an earthly sanctuary.
Hebrews 9:2For there was a tabernacle made; the first, in which was the candlestick, and the table, and the show-bread; which is called the sanctuary.For there was a tabernacle made the first, wherein were the candlesticks, and the table, and the setting forth of loaves, which is called the holy.For there was a tent prepared, the first, in which were the lampstand, the table, and the show bread; which is called the Holy Place.
Hebrews 9:3And after the second vail, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;And after the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the holy of holies:After the second veil, the tent which is called the Holy of Holies,
Hebrews 9:4Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid around with gold, in which was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;Having a golden censer, and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna, and the rod of Aaron, that had blossomed, and the tables of the testament.having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which was a golden pot holding the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
Hebrews 9:5And over it the cherubim of glory shadowing the mercy-seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat, of which things we can't now speak in detail.
Hebrews 9:6Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God:Now these things being thus ordered, into the first tabernacle the priests indeed always entered, accomplishing the offices of sacrifices.Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tent, accomplishing the services,
Hebrews 9:7But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:But into the second, the high priest alone, once a year: not without blood, which he offereth for his own, and the people's ignorance:but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offers for himself, and for the errors of the people.
Hebrews 9:8The Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was yet standing:The Holy Ghost signifying this, that the way into the holies was not yet made manifest, whilst the former tabernacle was yet standing.The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the Holy Place has not yet been revealed, while the first tent is yet standing;
Hebrews 9:9Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;Which is a parable of the time present: according to which gifts and sacrifices are offered, which can not, as to the conscience, make him perfect that serveth, only in meats and in drinks,which is an illustration of the present age, where gifts and sacrifices are offered that are incapable, concerning the conscience, of making the worshipper perfect;
Hebrews 9:10Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.And divers washings, and justices of the flesh laid on them until the time of correction.being only (with meats and drinks and various washings) fleshly ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.
Hebrews 9:11But Christ being come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;But Christ, being come an high priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hand, that is, not of this creation:But Christ having come as a high priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tent, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
Hebrews 9:12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood; he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.Neither by the blood of goats, or of calves, but by his own blood, entered once into the holies, having obtained eternal redemption.nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctify to the purifying of the flesh:For if the blood of goats and of oxen, and the ashes of an heifer being sprinkled, sanctify such as are defiled, to the cleansing of the flesh:For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify to the cleanness of the flesh:
Hebrews 9:14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?How much more shall the blood of Christ, who by the Holy Ghost offered himself unspotted unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.And therefore he is the mediator of the new testament: that by means of his death, for the redemption of those trangressions, which were under the former testament, they that are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.For this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.For where there is a testament, the death of the testator must of necessity come in.For where a last will and testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him who made it.
Hebrews 9:17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.For a testament is of force, after men are dead: otherwise it is as yet of no strength, whilst the testator liveth.For a will is in force where there has been death, for it is never in force while he who made it lives.
Hebrews 9:18Hence even the first testament was not dedicated without blood.Whereupon neither was the first indeed dedicated without blood.Therefore even the first covenant has not been dedicated without blood.
Hebrews 9:19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book and all the people,For when every commandment of the law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,
Hebrews 9:20Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined to you.Saying: This is the blood of the testament, which God hath enjoined unto you.saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded toward you."
Hebrews 9:21Moreover, he sprinkled likewise with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.The tabernacle also and all the vessels of the ministry, in like manner, he sprinkled with blood.Moreover he sprinkled the tent and all the vessels of the ministry in like manner with the blood.
Hebrews 9:22And almost all things are by the law cleansed with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.And almost all things, according to the law, are cleansed with blood: and without shedding of blood there is no remission.According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
Hebrews 9:23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.It is necessary therefore that the patterns of heavenly things should be cleansed with these: but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebrews 9:24For Christ hath not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:For Jesus is not entered into the holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into heaven itself, that he may appear now in the presence of God for us.For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, similar in pattern to the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us;
Hebrews 9:25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holies, every year with the blood of others:nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own,
Hebrews 9:26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.For then he ought to have suffered often from the beginning of the world: but now once at the end of ages, he hath appeared for the destruction of sin, by the sacrifice of himself.or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Hebrews 9:27And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment:And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment,
Hebrews 9:28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him he will appear the second time without sin to salvation.So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many; the second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.
