John 18:8Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: If therefore ye seek me, let these go away:Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way.Jesus answered, "I told you that I AM. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,"
John 18:9That the saying might be fulfilled which he spoke, Of them whom thou gavest to me, I have lost none.That the word might be fulfilled which he said: Of them whom thou hast given me, I have not lost any one.that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, "Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none."
John 18:10Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it, and smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And the name of the servant was Malchus.Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
John 18:11Then said Jesus to Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?Jesus therefore said to Peter: Put up thy sword into the scabbard. The chalice which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?Jesus therefore said to Peter, "Put up the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it?"
John 18:12Then the band, and the captain, and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,Then the band and the tribune, and the servants of the Jews, took Jesus, and bound him:So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound him,
John 18:13And led him away to Annas first, (for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was the high priest that same year.)And they led him away to Annas first, for he was father in law to Caiphas, who was the high priest of that year.and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

John 18:17Then saith the damsel that kept the door to Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.The maid therefore that was portress, saith to Peter: Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith: I am not.Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, "Are you also one of this man's disciples?" He said, "I am not."
John 18:18And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; (for it was cold) and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.Now the servants and ministers stood at a fire of coals, because it was cold, and warmed themselves. And with them was Peter also, standing, and warming himself.Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.
John 18:19The high priest then asked Jesus concerning his disciples, and concerning his doctrine.The high priest therefore asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.The high priest therefore asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his teaching.
John 18:20Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.Jesus answered him: I have spoken openly to the world: I have always taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither all the Jews resort; and in secret I have spoken nothing.Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.
John 18:21Why dost thou ask me? ask them who heard me, what I have said to them: behold, they know what I have said.Why asketh thou me? ask them who have heard what I have spoken unto them: behold they know what things I have said.Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, these know the things which I said."
John 18:22And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers who stood by, struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?And when he had said these things, one of the servants standing by, gave Jesus a blow, saying: Answerest thou the high priest so?When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, "Do you answer the high priest like that?"
John 18:23Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear testimony of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?Jesus answered him: If I have spoken evil, give testimony of the evil; but if well, why strikest thou me?Jesus answered him, "If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?"
John 18:24(Now Annas had sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.)And Annas sent him bound to Caiphas the high priest.Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.
John 18:25And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore to him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.And Simon Peter was standing, and warming himself. They said therefore to him: Art not thou also one of his disciples? John 18:26One of the servants of the high priest (being the kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off) saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?One of the servants of the high priest (a kinsman to him whose ear Peter cut off) saith to him: Did I not see thee in the garden with him?One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, "Didn't I see you in the garden with him?"
John 18:27Peter then denied again, and immediately the cock crowed.Again therefore Peter denied; and immediately the cock crew.Peter therefore denied again, and immediately the rooster crowed.
John 18:28Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment-hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.Then they led Jesus from Caiphas to the governor's hall. And it was morning; and they went not into the hall, that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the pasch.They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn't enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
John 18:29Pilate then went out to them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?Pilate therefore went out to them, and said: What accusation bring you against this man?Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, "What accusation do you bring against this man?"
John 18:30They answered and said to him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up to thee.They answered, and said to him: If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up to thee.They answered him, "If this man weren't an evildoer, we wouldn't have delivered him up to you."
John 18:31Then said Pilate to them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:Pilate therefore said to them: Take him you, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him: It is not lawful for us to put any man to death;Pilate therefore said to them, "Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law." Therefore the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,"
John 18:32That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what death he should die.That the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he said, signifying what death he should die.that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
John 18:33Then Pilate entered into the judgment-hall again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Art thou the King of the Jews?Pilate therefore went into the hall again, and called Jesus, and said to him: Art thou the king of the Jews?Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?"
John 18:34Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing from thyself, or did others tell it thee concerning me?Jesus answered: Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or have others told it thee of me?Jesus answered him, "Do you say this of yourself, or did others tell it to you concerning me?"
John 18:35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy own nation, and the chief priests, have delivered thee to me: What hast thou done?Pilate answered: Am I a Jew? Thy own nation, and the chief priests, have delivered thee up to me: what hast thou done?Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?"
John 18:36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would certainly strive that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from hence.Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn't be delivered to the Jews. But now my kingdom is not from here."
John 18:37Pilate therefore said to him, Art thou a King then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a King. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.Pilate therefore said to him: Art thou a king then? Jesus answered: Thou sayest that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice.Pilate therefore said to him, "Are you a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice."
John 18:38Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find in him no fault.Pilate saith to him: What is truth? And when he said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them: I find no cause in him.Pilate said to him, "What is truth?" When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
John 18:39But ye have a custom that I should release to you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release to you the King of the Jews?But you have a custom that I should release one unto you at the pasch: will you, therefore, that I release unto you the king of the Jews?But you have a custom, that I should release to you one at the Passover. Therefore do you desire that I release to you the King of the Jews?"
John 18:40Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.Then cried they all again, saying: Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.Then they all cried out again, saying, "Not this man, but Barabbas!" Now Barabbas was a robber.
