Philemon 1:1Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellow-laborer,Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother: to Philemon, our beloved and fellow labourer;Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timotheus the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,
Philemon 1:2And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the church in thy house:And to Appia, our dearest sister, and to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church which is in thy house:and Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and the assembly in thy house:
Philemon 1:3Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Philemon 1:4I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,I give thanks to my God, always making a remembrance of thee in my prayers.I give thanks to my God, always making mention of thee in my prayers,
Philemon 1:5Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all saints;Hearing of thy charity and faith, which thou hast in the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints:hearing of thy love and faith that thou hast unto the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
Philemon 1:6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.That the communication of thy faith may be made evident in the acknowledgment of every good work, that is in you in Christ Jesus.that the fellowship of thy faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that [is] in you toward Christ Jesus;
Philemon 1:7For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.For I have had great joy and consolation in thy charity, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed by thee, brother.for we have much joy and comfort in thy love, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother.
Philemon 1:8Wherefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient.Wherefore though I have much confidence in Christ Jesus, to command thee that which is to the purpose:Wherefore, having in Christ much boldness to command thee that which is fit
Philemon 1:9Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.For charity sake I rather beseech, whereas thou art such a one, as Paul an old man, and now a prisoner also of Jesus Christ.because of the love I rather entreat, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;
Philemon 1:10I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:I beseech thee for my son, whom I have begotten in my bands, Onesimus,I entreat thee concerning my child whom I did beget in my bonds Onesimus,
Philemon 1:11Who in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:Who hath been heretofore unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable both to me and thee,who once was to thee unprofitable, and now is profitable to me and to thee,
Philemon 1:12Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, my own bowels:Whom I have sent back to thee. And do thou receive him as my own bowels.whom I did send again, and thou him (that is, my own bowels) receive,
Philemon 1:13Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered to me in the bonds of the gospel:Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered to me in the bands of the gospel:whom I did wish to retain to myself, that in thy behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of the good news,
Philemon 1:14But without thy mind I would do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.But without thy counsel I would do nothing: that thy good deed might not be as it were of necessity, but voluntary.and apart from thy mind I willed to do nothing, that as of necessity thy good deed may not be, but of willingness,
Philemon 1:15For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldst receive him for ever;For perhaps he therefore departed for a season from thee, that thou mightest receive him again for ever:for perhaps because of this he did depart for an hour, that age-duringly thou mayest have him,
Philemon 1:16Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more to thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?Not now as a servant, but instead of a servant, a most dear brother, especially to me: but how much more to thee both in the flesh and in the Lord?no more as a servant, but above a servant a brother beloved, especially to me, and how much more to thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord!
Philemon 1:17If thou accountest me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.If therefore thou count me a partner, receive him as myself.If, then, with me thou hast fellowship, receive him as me,
Philemon 1:18If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee aught, put that on my account;And if he hath wronged thee in any thing, or is in thy debt, put that to my account.and if he did hurt to thee, or doth owe anything, this to me be reckoning;
Philemon 1:19I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it: although I do not say to thee that thou owest to me even thy own self besides.I Paul have written it with my own hand: I will repay it: not to say to thee, that thou owest me thy own self also.I, Paul did write with my hand, I I will repay; that I may not say that also thyself, besides, to me thou dost owe.
Philemon 1:20Yes, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.Yea, brother. May I enjoy thee in the Lord. Refresh my bowels in the Lord.Yes, brother, may I have profit of thee in the Lord; refresh my bowels in the Lord;
Philemon 1:21Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote to thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.Trusting in thy obedience, I have written to thee: knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.having been confident in thy obedience I did write to thee, having known that also above what I may say thou wilt do;
Philemon 1:22But at the same time prepare me also a lodging; for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given to you.But withal prepare me also a lodging. For I hope that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.and at the same time also prepare for me a lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.
Philemon 1:23There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus;There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus;Salute thee doth Epaphras, (my fellow-captive in Christ Jesus,)
Philemon 1:24Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow-laborers.Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke my fellow labourers.Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!
Philemon 1:25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit! Amen.
