Matthew 24:1 | And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. | Jesus had left the Temple and was going on His way, when His disciples came and called His attention to the Temple buildings. | And Jesus went forth and went away from the temple, and his disciples came to [him] to point out to him the buildings of the temple. |
Matthew 24:2 | And Jesus said to them, See ye not all these things? verily I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. | "You see all these?" He replied; "in solemn truth I tell you that there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be pulled down." | And he answering said to them, Do ye not see all these things? Verily I say to you, Not a stone shall be left here upon a stone which shall not be thrown down. |
Matthew 24:3 | And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? | Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?" | And as he was sitting upon the mount of Olives the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign of thy coming and [the] completion of the age? |
Matthew 24:4 | And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you. | "Take care that no one misleads you," answered Jesus; | And Jesus answering said to them, See that no one mislead you. |
Matthew 24:5 | For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and will deceive many. | "for many will come assuming my name and saying `I am the Christ;' and they will mislead many. | For many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am the Christ, and they shall mislead many. |
Matthew 24:6 | And ye will hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. | And before long you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Do not be alarmed, for such things must be; but the End is not yet. | But ye will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not disturbed; for all [these things] must take place, but it is not yet the end. |
Matthew 24:7 | For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. | For nation will rise in arms against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places; | For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. |
Matthew 24:8 | All these are the beginning of sorrows. | but all these miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth. | But all these [are the] beginning of throes. |
Matthew 24:9 | Then will they deliver you up to be afflicted, and will kill you: and ye will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. | "At that time they will deliver you up to punishment and will put you to death; and you will be objects of hatred to all the nations because you are called by my name. | Then shall they deliver you up to tribulation, and shall kill you; and ye will be hated of all the nations for my name's sake. |
Matthew 24:10 | And then will many be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. | Then will many stumble and fall, and they will betray one another and hate one another. | And then will many be offended, and will deliver one another up, and hate one another; |
Matthew 24:11 | And many false prophets will rise, and will deceive many. | Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray; | and many false prophets shall arise and shall mislead many; |
Matthew 24:12 | And because iniquity will abound, the love of many will become cold. | and because of the prevalent disregard of God's law the love of the great majority will grow cold; | and because lawlessness shall prevail, the love of the most shall grow cold; |
Matthew 24:13 | But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. | but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved. | but he that has endured to the end, *he* shall be saved. |
Matthew 24:14 | And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all nations; and then shall the end come. | And this Good News of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world to set the evidence before all the Gentiles; and then the End will come. | And these glad tidings of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole habitable earth, for a witness to all the nations, and then shall come the end. |
Matthew 24:15 | When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever readeth, let him understand,) | "When you have seen (to use the language of the Prophet Daniel) the `Abomination of Desolation', standing in the Holy Place" let the reader observe those words | When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation, which is spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in [what is a] holy place, (he that reads let him understand,) |
Matthew 24:16 | Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains: | "then let those who are in Judaea escape to the hills; | then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; |
Matthew 24:17 | Let him who is on the house-top not come down to take any thing out of his house: | let him who is on the roof not go down to fetch what is in his house; | let not him that is on the house come down to take the things out of his house; |
Matthew 24:18 | Neither let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes. | nor let him who is outside the city stay to pick up his outer garment. | and let not him that is in the field turn back to take his garment. |
Matthew 24:19 | And woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days! | And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants! | But woe to those that are with child, and those that give suck in those days. |
Matthew 24:20 | But pray ye that your flight may not be in the winter, neither on the sabbath: | "But pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on the Sabbath; | But pray that your flight may not be in winter time nor on sabbath: |
Matthew 24:21 | For then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. | for it will be a time of great suffering, such as never has been from the beginning of the world till now, and assuredly never will be again. | for then shall there be great tribulation, such as has not been from [the] beginning of [the] world until now, nor ever shall be; |
Matthew 24:22 | And except those days should be shortened, there would no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. | And if those days had not been cut short, no one would escape; but for the sake of God's own People those days will be cut short. | and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short. |
Matthew 24:23 | Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. | "If at that time any one should say to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `Here!' give no credence to it. | Then if any one say to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or here, believe [it] not. |
Matthew 24:24 | For false Christs will arise, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they would deceive the very elect. | For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying wonderful signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, were it possible, even God's own People. | For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall give great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. |
Matthew 24:25 | Behold, I have told you before. | Remember, I have forewarned you. | Behold, I have told you beforehand. |
Matthew 24:26 | Wherefore, if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. | If therefore they should say to you, `See, He is in the Desert!' do not go out there: or `See, He is indoors in the room!' do not believe it. | If therefore they say to you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth; behold, [he is] in the inner chambers, do not believe [it]. |
Matthew 24:27 | For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. | For just as the lightning flashes in the east and is seen to the very west, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man. | For as the lightning goes forth from the east and shines to the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. |
Matthew 24:28 | For wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be collected. | Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures flock together. | [For] wherever the carcase is, there will be gathered the eagles. |
Matthew 24:29 | Immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: | "But immediately after those times of distress the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, the stars will fall from the firmament, and the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed. | But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. |
Matthew 24:30 | And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. | Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory. | And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land lament, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. |

As soon as its branches have now become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you all know that summer is near. | But learn the parable from the fig-tree: When already its branch becomes tender and produces leaves, ye know that the summer is near. |
Matthew 24:33 | So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. | So you also, when you see all these signs, may be sure that He is near at your very door. | Thus also *ye*, when ye see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors. |
Matthew 24:34 | Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things shall be fulfilled. | I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place. | Verily I say to you, This generation will not have passed away until all these things shall have taken place. |

Matthew 24:45 | Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? | "Who therefore is the loyal and intelligent servant to whom his master has entrusted the control of his household to give them their rations at the appointed time? | Who then is the faithful and prudent bondman whom his lord has set over his household, to give them food in season? |
Matthew 24:46 | Blessed is that servant, whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing. | Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes shall find so doing! | Blessed is that bondman whom his lord on coming shall find doing thus. |
Matthew 24:47 | Verily I say to you, that he will make him ruler over all his goods. | In solemn truth I tell you that he will give him the management of all his wealth. | Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all his substance. |
