| Luke 18:1 | And he spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; | He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart. | And he spoke also a parable to them, that we ought always to pray, and not to faint, |
| Luke 18:2 | Saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man. | "In a certain town," He said, "there was a judge who had no fear of God and no respect for man. | Saying: There was a judge in a certain city, who feared not God, nor regarded man. |
| Luke 18:3 | And there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary. | And in the same town was a widow who repeatedly came and entreated him, saying, "`Give me justice and stop my oppressor.' | And there was a certain widow in that city, and she came to him, saying: Avenge me of my adversary. |
