Luke 13:1There were present at that season some that told him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.Now at the same time there were present some who told him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate mingled with [that of] their sacrifices.
Luke 13:2And Jesus answering, said to them, Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things?Jesus answered them, "Do you think that these Galilaeans were worse sinners than all the other Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?And he answering said to them, Think ye that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans because they suffered such things?
Luke 13:3I tell you, No; but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.No, I say to you, but if ye repent not, ye shall all perish in the same manner.
Luke 13:4Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, think ye that *they* were debtors beyond all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
Luke 13:5I tell you, No; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."No, I say to you, but if ye repent not, ye shall all perish in like manner.
Luke 13:6He spoke also this parable: A certain man had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit on it, and found none.He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.And he spoke this parable: A certain [man] had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit upon it and did not find [any].
Luke 13:7Then said he to the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?He said to the vine dresser, 'Behold, these three years I came seeking fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?'And he said to the vinedresser, Behold, [these] three years I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree and find none: cut it down; why does it also render the ground useless?
Luke 13:8And he answering, said to him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:He answered, 'Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.But he answering says to him, Sir, let it alone for this year also, until I shall dig about it and put dung,
Luke 13:9And if it shall bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.'"and if it shall bear fruit but if not, after that thou shalt cut it down.
Luke 13:10And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
Luke 13:11And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise raise herself.Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way lift herself up.And lo, [there was] a woman having a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent together and wholly unable to lift her head up.
Luke 13:12And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thy infirmity.When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your infirmity."And Jesus, seeing her, called to [her], and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
Luke 13:13And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.And he laid his hands upon her; and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
Luke 13:14And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, and said to the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath.The ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, answered to the multitude, "There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!"But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus healed on the sabbath, answering said to the crowd, There are six days in which [people] ought to work; in these therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
Luke 13:15The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?Therefore the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?The Lord therefore answered him and said, Hypocrites! does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the manger and leading [it] away, water [it]?
Luke 13:16And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, to be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, to have been freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?"And this [woman], who is a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, [these] eighteen years, ought she not to be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
Luke 13:17And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.And as he said these things, all who were opposed to him were ashamed; and all the crowd rejoiced at all the glorious things which were being done by him.
Luke 13:18Then said he, To what is the kingdom of God like? and to what shall I resemble it?He said, "To what is the kingdom of God like? To what shall I compare it?And he said, To what is the kingdom of God like? and to what shall I liken it?
Luke 13:19It is like a grain of mustard-seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden, and it grew, and became a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and threw into his own garden. Luke 13:23Then said one to him, Lord, are there few that are saved? And he said to them,One said to him, "Lord, are they few who are saved?" He said to them,And one said to him, Sir, [are] such as are to be saved few in number? But he said unto them,
Luke 13:24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.Strive with earnestness to enter in through the narrow door, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
Luke 13:25When once the master of the house hath risen, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us; and he will answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are:When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' then he will answer and tell you, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'From the time that the master of the house shall have risen up and shall have shut the door, and ye shall begin to stand without and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he answering shall say to you, I know you not whence ye are:
Luke 13:26Then ye will begin to say, We have eaten and drank in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drink in your presence, and you taught in our streets.'then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten in thy presence and drunk, and thou hast taught in our streets;
Luke 13:27But he will say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.He will say, 'I tell you, I don't know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.'and he shall say, I tell you, I do not know you whence ye are; depart from me, all [ye] workers of iniquity.
Luke 13:28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves excluded.There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.There shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves cast out.
Luke 13:29And they will come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and will sit down in the kingdom of God.They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the kingdom of God.And they shall come from east and west, and from north and south, and shall lie down at table in the kingdom of God.
Luke 13:30And behold, there are last, who shall be first; and there are first who shall be last.Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last."And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.
Luke 13:31The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying to him, Go out, and depart hence; for Herod will kill thee.On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, "Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you."The same hour certain Pharisees came up, saying to him, Get out, and go hence, for Herod is desirous to kill thee.
Luke 13:32And he said to them, Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons, and I do cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.He said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.And he said to them, Go, tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and accomplish cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third [day] I am perfected;
Luke 13:33Nevertheless, I must walk to-day and to-morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet should perish out of Jerusalem.Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can't be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.'but I must needs walk to-day and to-morrow and the [day] following, for it must not be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
Luke 13:34O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how often would I have gathered thy children, as a hen gathereth her brood under her wings, and ye would not!"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the [city] that kills the prophets and stones those that are sent unto her, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen her brood under her wings, and ye would not.
Luke 13:35Behold, your house is left to you desolate. And verily I say to you, ye shall not see me, until the time shall come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'"Behold, your house is left unto you; and I say unto you, that ye shall not see me until it come that ye say, Blessed [is] he that comes in the name of [the] Lord.
