Matthew 24:1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.Jesus had left the Temple and was going on His way, when His disciples came and called His attention to the Temple buildings.
Matthew 24:2And Jesus said to them, See ye not all these things? verily I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.But he answered them, "Don't you see all of these things? Most assuredly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.""You see all these?" He replied; "in solemn truth I tell you that there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be pulled down."
Matthew 24:3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?"Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?"
Matthew 24:4And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.Jesus answered them, "Be careful that no one leads you astray."Take care that no one misleads you," answered Jesus;
Matthew 24:5For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and will deceive many.For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray."for many will come assuming my name and saying `I am the Christ;' and they will mislead many.
Matthew 24:6And ye will hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren't troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.And before long you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Do not be alarmed, for such things must be; but the End is not yet.
Matthew 24:7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.For nation will rise in arms against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places;
Matthew 24:8All these are the beginning of sorrows.But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.but all these miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth.
Matthew 24:9Then will they deliver you up to be afflicted, and will kill you: and ye will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name's sake."At that time they will deliver you up to punishment and will put you to death; and you will be objects of hatred to all the nations because you are called by my name.
Matthew 24:10And then will many be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another.Then will many stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.Then will many stumble and fall, and they will betray one another and hate one another.
Matthew 24:11And many false prophets will rise, and will deceive many.Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray;
Matthew 24:12And because iniquity will abound, the love of many will become cold.Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.and because of the prevalent disregard of God's law the love of the great majority will grow cold;
Matthew 24:13But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved.
Matthew 24:14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all nations; and then shall the end come.This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.And this Good News of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world to set the evidence before all the Gentiles; and then the End will come.
Matthew 24:15When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever readeth, let him understand,)When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),"When you have seen (to use the language of the Prophet Daniel) the `Abomination of Desolation', standing in the Holy Place" let the reader observe those words
Matthew 24:16Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains:then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains."then let those who are in Judaea escape to the hills;
Matthew 24:17Let him who is on the house-top not come down to take any thing out of his house:Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house.let him who is on the roof not go down to fetch what is in his house;
Matthew 24:18Neither let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes.Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak.nor let him who is outside the city stay to pick up his outer garment.
Matthew 24:19And woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days!But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants!
Matthew 24:20But pray ye that your flight may not be in the winter, neither on the sabbath:Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath,"But pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on the Sabbath;
Matthew 24:21For then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.for then will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.for it will be a time of great suffering, such as never has been from the beginning of the world till now, and assuredly never will be again.
Matthew 24:22And except those days should be shortened, there would no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.Except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened.And if those days had not been cut short, no one would escape; but for the sake of God's own People those days will be cut short.
Matthew 24:23Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.Then if any man will tell you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or, 'There,' don't believe it."If at that time any one should say to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `Here!' give no credence to it.
Matthew 24:24For false Christs will arise, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they would deceive the very elect.For there will arise false Christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying wonderful signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, were it possible, even God's own People.
Matthew 24:25Behold, I have told you before.Behold, I have told you beforehand.Remember, I have forewarned you.
Matthew 24:26Wherefore, if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.If therefore they tell you, 'Behold, he is in the wilderness!' don't go out; 'Behold, he is in the inner chambers,' don't believe it.If therefore they should say to you, `See, He is in the Desert!' do not go out there: or `See, He is indoors in the room!' do not believe it.
Matthew 24:27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.For as the lightning comes forth from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.For just as the lightning flashes in the east and is seen to the very west, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:28For wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be collected.For wherever the carcass is, there will the vultures be gathered together.Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures flock together.
Matthew 24:29Immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give her light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;"But immediately after those times of distress the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, the stars will fall from the firmament, and the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.
Matthew 24:30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory.
Matthew 24:31And he will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.He will send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet-blast, and they will bring together His own People to Him from north, south, east and west from one extremity of the world to the other.
Matthew 24:32Now learn a parable of the fig-tree; When its branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:"Now from the fig tree learn her parable. When its branch has now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near."Now learn from the fig-tree the lesson it teaches. As soon as its branches have now become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you all know that summer is near.
Matthew 24:33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.So you also, when you see all these signs, may be sure that He is near at your very door.
Matthew 24:34Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things shall be fulfilled.Most assuredly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished.I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.
Matthew 24:35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.
Matthew 24:36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only."But as to that day and the exact time no one knows not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
Matthew 24:37But as the days of Noah were, so will also the coming of the Son of man be.As the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.`For as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be at the Coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:38For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,At that time, before the Deluge, men were busy eating and drinking, taking wives or giving them, up to the very day when Noah entered the Ark,
Matthew 24:39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away: so also will be the coming of the Son of man.and they didn't know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.nor did they realise any danger till the Deluge came and swept them all away; so will it be at the Coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:40Then will two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.Then will two men be in the field: one is taken, and one is left;Then will two men be in the open country: one will be taken away, and one left behind.
Matthew 24:41Two women will be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.two women grinding at the mill, one is taken, and one is left.Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken away, and one left behind.
Matthew 24:42Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord cometh.Watch therefore, for you don't know in what hour your Lord comes.Be on the alert therefore, for you do not know the day on which your Lord is coming.
Matthew 24:43But know this, that if the master of the house knew in what watch the thief would come, he would watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken up.But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.But of this be assured, that if the master of the house had known the hour at which the robber was coming, he would have kept awake, and not have allowed his house to be broken into.
Matthew 24:44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don't expect, the Son of Man will come.Therefore you also must be ready; for it is at a time when you do not expect Him that the Son of Man will come.
Matthew 24:45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?"Who therefore is the loyal and intelligent servant to whom his master has entrusted the control of his household to give them their rations at the appointed time?
Matthew 24:46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.Blessed is that servant, whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes shall find so doing!
Matthew 24:47Verily I say to you, that he will make him ruler over all his goods.Most assuredly I tell you, that he will set him over all that he has.In solemn truth I tell you that he will give him the management of all his wealth.
Matthew 24:48But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming;But if that evil servant should say in his heart, 'My lord is delaying his coming,'But if the man, being a bad servant, should say in his heart, `My master is a long time in coming,'
Matthew 24:49And shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;and began to beat his fellow-servants, and eat and drink with the drunken,and should begin to beat his fellow servants, while he eats and drinks with drunkards;
Matthew 24:50The Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn't expect it, and in an hour when he doesn't know it,the master of that servant will arrive on a day when he is not expecting him and at an hour of which he has not been informed;
Matthew 24:51And will cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.he will treat him with the utmost severity and assign him a place among the hypocrites: there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
