Ephesians 5:1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;Become, then, followers of God, as children beloved,Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children,
Ephesians 5:2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.and walk in love, as also the Christ did love us, and did give himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell,and walk in love, even as the Christ loved us, and delivered himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.
Ephesians 5:3But lewdness and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;and whoredom, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;But fornication and all uncleanness or unbridled lust, let it not be even named among you, as it becomes saints;
Ephesians 5:4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting, the things not fit but rather thanksgiving;and filthiness and foolish talking, or jesting, which are not convenient; but rather thanksgiving.
Ephesians 5:5For this ye know, that no lewd, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.for this ye know, that every whoremonger, or unclean, or covetous person, who is an idolater, hath no inheritance in the reign of the Christ and God.For this ye are [well] informed of, knowing that no fornicator, or unclean person, or person of unbridled lust, who is an idolater, has inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
Ephesians 5:6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,Let no one deceive you with vain words, for on account of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Ephesians 5:7Be ye not therefore partakers with them.become not, then, partakers with them,Be not ye therefore fellow-partakers with them;
Ephesians 5:8For ye were sometime darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light;for ye were once darkness, and now light in the Lord; as children of light walk ye,for ye were once darkness, but now light in [the] Lord; walk as children of light,
Ephesians 5:9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth;)for the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,(for the fruit of the light [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth,)
Ephesians 5:10Proving what is acceptable to the Lord.proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord,proving what is agreeable to the Lord;
Ephesians 5:11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict,and do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather also reprove [them],
Ephesians 5:12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.for the things in secret done by them it is a shame even to speak of,for the things that are done by them in secret it is shameful even to say.
Ephesians 5:13But all things that are reproved, are made manifest by the light: for whatever doth make manifest is light.and all the things reproved by the light are manifested, for everything that is manifested is light;But all things having their true character exposed by the light are made manifest; for that which makes everything manifest is light.
Ephesians 5:14Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give thee light.wherefore he saith, `Arouse thyself, thou who art sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.`Wherefore he says, Wake up, [thou] that sleepest, and arise up from among the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.
Ephesians 5:15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,See, then, how exactly ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise,See therefore how ye walk carefully, not as unwise but as wise,
Ephesians 5:16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.redeeming the time, because the days are evil;redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.because of this become not fools, but understanding what [is] the will of the Lord,For this reason be not foolish, but understanding what [is] the will of the Lord.
Ephesians 5:18And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;and be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in the Spirit,And be not drunk with wine, in which is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit,
Ephesians 5:19Speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and chanting with your heart to the Lord;
Ephesians 5:20Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father;giving thanks at all times for all things to him [who is] God and [the] Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Ephesians 5:21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.submitting yourselves to one another in [the] fear of Christ.
Ephesians 5:22Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.The wives! to your own husbands subject yourselves, as to the Lord,Wives, [submit yourselves] to your own husbands, as to the Lord,
Ephesians 5:23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Savior of the body.because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly, and he is saviour of the body,for a husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly. *He* [is] Saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:24Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in every thing.but even as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives to their own husbands in everything.But even as the assembly is subjected to the Christ, so also wives to their own husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;The husbands! love your own wives, as also the Christ did love the assembly, and did give himself for it,Husbands, love your own wives, even as the Christ also loved the assembly, and has delivered himself up for it,
Ephesians 5:26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,that he might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying,in order that he might sanctify it, purifying [it] by the washing of water by [the] word,
Ephesians 5:27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.that he might present it to himself the assembly in glory, not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;that *he* might present the assembly to himself glorious, having no spot, or wrinkle, or any of such things; but that it might be holy and blameless.
Ephesians 5:28So ought men to love their wives, as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife, loveth himself.so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife himself he doth love;So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies: he that loves his own wife loves himself.
Ephesians 5:29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:for no one ever his own flesh did hate, but doth nourish and cherish it, as also the Lord the assembly,For no one has ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Christ the assembly:
Ephesians 5:30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.because members we are of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones;for we are members of his body; [we are of his flesh, and of his bones.]
Ephesians 5:31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.`for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they shall be the two for one flesh;`Because of this a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be united to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.
Ephesians 5:32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.this secret is great, and I speak in regard to Christ and to the assembly;This mystery is great, but *I* speak as to Christ, and as to the assembly.
Ephesians 5:33Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself: and the wife see that she reverence her husband.but ye also, every one in particular let each his own wife so love as himself, and the wife that she may reverence the husband.But *ye* also, every one of you, let each so love his own wife as himself; but as to the wife [I speak] that she may fear the husband.
