1st-Peter 5:1So I exhort the Elders among you I who am their fellow Elder and have been an eye-witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and am also a sharer in the glory which is soon to be revealed.The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed:
1st-Peter 5:2Be shepherds of God's flock which is among you. Exercise the oversight not reluctantly but eagerly, in accordance with the will of God; not for base gain but with cheerful minds;Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily;
1st-Peter 5:3not lording it over your Churches but proving yourselves patterns for the flock to imitate.neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock. not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock.
1st-Peter 5:4And then, when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the never-withering wreath of glory.And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away. And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
1st-Peter 5:5In the same way you younger men must submit to your elders; and all of you must gird yourselves with humility towards one another, for God sets Himself against the proud, but gives grace to the humble.Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. Likewise [ye] younger, be subject to [the] elder, and all of you bind on humility towards one another; for God sets himself against [the] proud, but to [the] humble gives grace.
1st-Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may set you on high.Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in [the due] time;
1st-Peter 5:7Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you. having cast all your care upon him, for he cares about you.
1st-Peter 5:8Curb every passion, and be on the alert. Your great accuser, the Devil, is going about like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour.Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
1st-Peter 5:9Withstand him, firm in your faith; knowing that your brethren in other parts of the world are passing through just the same experiences.whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world. Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which [is] in [the] world.
1st-Peter 5:10And God, the giver of all grace, who has called you to share His eternal glory, through Christ, after you have suffered for a short time, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong.And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you. But the God of all grace who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, when ye have suffered for a little while, himself shall make perfect, stablish, strengthen, ground:
1st-Peter 5:11To Him be all power unto the Ages of the Ages! Amen.To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. to him [be] the glory and the might for the ages of the ages. Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12I send this short letter by Silas, our faithful brother for such I regard him in order to encourage you, and to bear witness that what I have told you is the true grace of God. In it stand fast.By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account [him], I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand ye fast therein. By Silvanus, the faithful brother, as I suppose, I have written to you briefly; exhorting and testifying that this is [the] true grace of God in which ye stand.
1st-Peter 5:13The Church in Babylon, chosen like yourselves by God, sends greetings, and so does Mark my son.She that is in Babylon, elect together with [you], saluteth you; and [so doth] Mark my son. She that is elected with [you] in Babylon salutes you, and Marcus my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be unto you all that are in Christ. Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all who [are] in Christ.
