Matthew 20:1"For the Kingdom of the Heavens is like an employer who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard,For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that was a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. The kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
Matthew 20:2and having made an agreement with them for a shilling a day, sent them into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the laborers for a shilling a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
Matthew 20:3About nine o'clock he went out and saw others loitering in the market-place.And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing in the marketplace idle; And going about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market place idle.
Matthew 20:4To these also he said, "`You also, go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.'and to them he said, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. And he said to them: Go you also into my vineyard, and I will give you what shall be just.
Matthew 20:5"So they went. Again about twelve, and about three o'clock, he went out and did the same.Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. And they went their way. And again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did in like manner.
Matthew 20:6And going out about five o'clock he found others loitering, and he asked them, "`Why have you been standing here all day long, doing nothing?'And about the eleventh [hour] he went out, and found others standing; and he saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? But about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing, and he saith to them: Why stand you here all the day idle?
Matthew 20:7"`Because no one has hired us,' they replied. "`You also, go into the vineyard,' he said. They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard. They say to him: Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them: Go you also into my vineyard.
Matthew 20:8"When evening came, the master said to his steward, "`Call the men and pay them their wages. Begin with the last set and finish with the first.'And when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the laborers, and pay them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward: Call the labourers and pay them their hire, beginning from the last even to the first.
Matthew 20:9"When those came who had begun at five o'clock, they received a shilling apiece; And when they came that [were hired] about the eleventh hour, they received every man a shilling. When therefore they were come, that came about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
Matthew 20:10and when the first came, they expected to get more, but they also each got the shilling. And when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received every man a shilling. But when the first also came, they thought that they should receive more: and they also received every man a penny.
Matthew 20:11So when they had received it, they grumbled against the employer, saying,And when they received it, they murmured against the householder, And receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,
Matthew 20:12"`These who came last have done only one hour's work, and you have put them on a level with us who have worked the whole day and have borne the scorching heat.'saying, These last have spent [but] one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat. Saying: These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, that have borne the burden of the day and the heats.
Matthew 20:13"`My friend,' he answered to one of them, `I am doing you no injustice. Did you not agree with me for a shilling? But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling? But he answering said to one of them: Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny?
Matthew 20:14Take your money and go. I choose to give this last comer just as much as I give you.Take up that which is thine, and go thy way; it is my will to give unto this last, even as unto thee. Take what is thine, and go thy way: I will also give to this last even as to thee.
Matthew 20:15Have I not a right to do what I choose with my own property? Or are you envious because I am generous?'Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? or is thine eye evil, because I am good? Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good?
Matthew 20:16"So the last shall be first, and the first last."So the last shall be first, and the first last. So shall the last be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.
Matthew 20:17Jesus was now going up to Jerusalem, and He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them,And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples apart, and on the way he said unto them, And Jesus going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples apart, and said to them:
Matthew 20:18"We are going up to Jerusalem, and there the Son of Man will be betrayed to the High Priests and Scribes. They will condemn Him to death,Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death.
Matthew 20:19and hand Him over to the Gentiles to be made sport of and scourged and crucified; and on the third day He will be raised to life."and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify: and the third day he shall be raised up. And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to be mocked, and scourged, and crucified, and the third day he shall rise again.
Matthew 20:20Then the mother of the sons of Zabdi came to Him with her sons, and knelt before Him to make a request of Him.Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, worshipping [him], and asking a certain thing of him. Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and asking something of him.
Matthew 20:21"What is it you desire?" He asked. "Command," she replied, "that these my two sons may sit one at your right hand and one at your left in your Kingdom."And he said unto her, What wouldest thou? She saith unto him, Command that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy kingdom. Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom.
Matthew 20:22"None of you know what you are asking for," said Jesus; "can you drink out of the cup from which I am about to drink?" "We can," they replied. But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able. And Jesus answering, said: You know not what you ask. Can you drink the chalice that I shall drink? They say to him: We can.
Matthew 20:23"You shall drink out of my cup," He said, "but a seat at my right hand or at my left it is not for me to allot, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father."He saith unto them, My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on [my] left hand, is not mine to give; but [it is for them] for whom it hath been prepared of my Father. He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink; but to sit on my right or left hand, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father.
Matthew 20:24The other ten heard of this, and their indignation was aroused against the two brothers. And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation concerning the two brethren. And the ten hearing it, were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
Matthew 20:25But Jesus called them to Him, and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But Jesus called them to him, and said: You know that the princes of the Gentiles lord it over them; and they that are the greater, exercise power upon them.
Matthew 20:26Not so shall it be among you; but whoever desires to be great among you shall be your servant,Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister; It shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be the greater among you, let him be your minister:
Matthew 20:27and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant;and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant: And he that will be first among you, shall be your servant.
Matthew 20:28just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as the redemption-price for many."even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Even as the Son of man is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a redemption for many.

And behold two blind men sitting by the way side, heard that Jesus passed by, and they cried out, saying: O Lord, thou son of David, have mercy on us.
Matthew 20:31The people angrily tried to silence them, but they cried all the louder. "O Sir, Son of David, pity us," they said. And the multitude rebuked them, that they should hold their peace: but they cried out the more, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thou son of David. And the multitude rebuked them that they should hold their peace. But they cried out the more, saying: O Lord, thou son of David, have mercy on us.
Matthew 20:32So Jesus stood still and called to them. "What shall I do for you?" He asked. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I should do unto you? And Jesus stood, and called them, and said: What will ye that I do to you?
Matthew 20:33"Sir, let our eyes be opened," they replied. They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. They say to him: Lord, that our eyes be opened.
